Chapter 92: Chapter 92
DUSK'S POV
"You put the seal on me? You locked my powers and made me weak? You, mother? How could you do that? Did you even give birth to me? Why did you always shower Gina and Annie with all your love and leave me wanting love when you were the one who made me hated in the first place!?" I asked angrily as my eyes filled up.
"It's not what you think, Dusk," she said, and I attacked her.
"If it's not what I think, what is it? You sealed my powers and made me weak! Everyone despised me, and you did nothing about it. I was sold off as a slave, and you didn't care about me. You didn't try to look for me or apologize or talk father out of it. All you cared about was Gina and Annie! Why?" I asked in pain, and tears fell from her eyes.
"I always knew you'd get the wrong idea about it all, but I never thought it'd be this painful to see you cry about it," she said, coming closer but stopped when I spoke again.
"See me cry about it? This is not the first time I'm crying over it. I cried over it so many times. Did you feel pricked by guilt? No, you didn't! Because I'm Luna now, you feel pricked seeing me cry?" I asked, and she shook her head slowly.
"It's not what you think! I didn't do it all because I hated you! At least, give me a chance to explain. I'm seeing you after such a long time. I'm just happy you're alive and well. And since you demand an explanation, let me explain and stop blaming me without knowing the real reason I did all I did," she said, and I took a deep breath.
"Let's hear it," I said with a shaky voice.
"I gave birth to Gina, but your father was gravely disappointed. He wanted a male who would take over the pack because of the threatening people in the pack. But, I conceived again, and it was another girl. Annie. He learned to love them, and all was going well. But we needed a male urgently, and after some years, you came and left your father helpless," she said, and I scoffed.
"So it was my fault, I came out as a girl?" I asked, and she held up her hands.
"Just stop, Dusk, stop. Let me explain," she said, and I decided to give it a rest.
"A woman came to visit me a few weeks after giving birth to you, and she told me you were destined for greater things and would surpass the power of our pack put together. She told me I needed to be careful with you, or things might go wrong. As your mother, I was very happy. But as the years rolled by, I could see signs of extreme jealousy in your sisters even at such a young age, and your father despised you. I knew if you started to excel in everything, your sisters could try doing something that would ruin your destiny.”
"So, I tried to look for a way to take eyes off you. That's why I put the seal on you, hoping that if they saw you were weak and had nothing extra to you, they'd finally leave you alone and forget about you. But it grew worse, it made your father hate you.”
"Dusk, I let them take you for auctioning that day for two reasons. One, because I knew destiny would find you, and you deserved better. And two, there was little I could do to oppose your father.”
"So, I hoped, I hoped that destiny would find you and take you to greater places. You didn't deserve to stay with me where I couldn't protect you, where you'd be treated unfairly. So, I let you go. And words cannot describe how happy I am to see that you finally made it," she said, and tears fell from both our faces as there was silence.
After a long while of silent tears, I spoke.
"Thank you. Without you, I might never have made it here," I said, and she started to cry out loud.
I went to her, hugged her, and we stayed in each other's arms.
LUCIUS' POV
I smiled as I looked at Dusk, showing her mother all around. She seemed so happy to have someone she knew from her past.
Dusk's mother was a respectful lady and gladly accepted to stay with her daughter and call her Luna.
I could already see the future I wanted for my Kingdom.
It was happening. My dream was closer to me.
"Alpha... You were saying something?" Marcus, my new Beta, asked me.
"Oh yes. We were making a new law. Slave trade is a crime that warrants death. This must pass from my Kingdom, and it should be spread to the ally Kingdoms too. If we're to remain allies, there must be no slave trade," I said, and Marcus wrote it all down.
"Before sunrise tomorrow, all slaves are to be released. Whatever master denies you the right to free the slaves in their possession, round them all up and bring them to me. The dungeon is spacious enough," I said, and he and the men laughed.
"Lucius," I heard Dusk call, and she came in.
"Yes, Love?" I answered, and she came to me shyly.
"You're making a new law, right?" She asked, and I nodded.
"How about you chip this bit in for me? It might seem ridiculous, but it means a lot to people like me," she said.
"Go on," I said, and she smiled.
"I want freedom and respect for Omegas. Anyone treating Omegas badly because of their status should be punished. We omegas didn't ask to be omegas or weak. We shouldn't suffer for it. Bullying Omegas or Wolves of lower ranks should be prohibited," she said, and I smiled.
"Put that down, men," I said to them, then turned to her. "By sunrise tomorrow, all omegas would be able to speak for themselves, and all slaves would be set free," I said, and fell in love with her over again as she gave a bright and innocent smile.
We excused ourselves and sat on the highest point of the Palace.
The breeze ruffled our hair and clothes as we looked at the massive Kingdom before us.
The Kingdom we managed to change.
My life had started out as bleak and problematic, but the moment I found her, everything began to get resolved.
And all I wanted was to be with her.
"I love you, My Luna." I said with all sincerity as I stared deeply into her eyes, and she blushed.
"I love you more, My Alpha." she replied, and the glint in her eyes was as vibrant as ever, as I leaned in and kissed her in front of the beautiful sunset.
THE END.
