Chapter 24: Chapter 24

DUSK.

I inched closer to her to be sure I was hearing her right.

"What are you saying? Are you sure about this? That I'm just like other wolves? That I don't have to be weak?" I quickly asked. I had to know if she really knew what she was saying.

She nodded.

"What's this seal?" I continued.

"I don't know who put the seal on you, but whoever did it didn't want you to come to your full self; they wanted to limit you and drag you down." She told me, and my mind raced, wondering who could have put the seal on me and when.

"So, can... Can it be removed?" I asked, and there was a little smile on her lips.

“Yes, it can." She said, and it was as though my heart had been set free from a rope that had been tied around it.

"Can you do it? You can remove it, right?" I asked, and she nodded, and a laugh of joy escaped me for a second. I couldn't believe I was finally going to be and feel like one of the wolves.

"Alright. Let's do it now." I said, and she shook her head.

"We can't do it now." She said, and my smile ran down.

"Why? Is there any special reason, or is the timing just wrong? Why?" I asked, and she held my hands.

"For me to be able to break the seal, you have to meditate on yourself, think deeply; you'd need to be alone, at least for the better part of tomorrow, and then at night, we do it under the moonlight." She said, and I nodded.

"I can wait." I said, and she smiled at me.

"I just hope Lucius wouldn't call for you or anything like that." She said, and I shook my head.

"He rarely calls for me." I said, and she stood up.

"In that case, I'll prepare everything we need." She said, and I held onto her hand as she made to go.

"Thank you, Seline. This has been the greatest love anyone has ever shown me." I said, sincerely and a smile masked her features.

"I'm happy to give you all the love I have." She assured me. "I should leave now."

She left the room afterwards and after she left, I went to the mirror and looked at myself. All I saw was a weak, worthless, and helpless omega, and I began to wonder if I could really be more than that.

The next day, I stayed in my room, not going out to do anything. I sat on the floor in a butterfly pose, closed my eyes, and thought of everything that had happened in my life. By evening, I had reached a state of perfect concentration. I was surprised at how concentrated I could be, but the answer to that was my long-time desire and desperation to become something other than despised.

When it was night, Seline came, and we made our way quietly to the woods since we didn't want anyone to see us.

When we got to the woods, we located a clearing that was well lit by the moon and settled there.

"Okay, now concentrate, be calm, and you're to remember this. Whatever happens, Dusk, do not let go; we're trying to break your seal, not break you." She said, and I nodded.

"I'm not going to let go; I get that. What am I to do to hold on and not let go?" I said, but she had already moved to sit opposite me in a butterfly pose with a potion in front of her, and she closed her eyes.

Slowly, I could see the potion glowing, but before I could ask Seline if that was meant to happen, it blew up in a cloud of smoke, and I felt something pull within me.

I gasped, as I wasn't expecting it to pull that hard. It was as though my soul was about to be taken out of me.

The wind picked up, and Seline's hair was blown all over her face.

I had asked what to do not to let go, but at that moment, I knew how to hold on. I held on to it even though it dragged me to my knees, and suddenly, I felt hot all over. Suddenly, I could see clearly in the dark; I could hear all the sounds in the forest; I could feel all the magic around me; and I roared.

~

I and Seline had trained in the forest, but this time it was fun because we were almost on the same level. When I got back to my quarters, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and gasped.

I had changed. My skin was brighter, my curves were more outlined, my eyes were more beautiful, and my face radiated. I looked at myself. It was a new me.

For some reason, I didn't want the others to see me, so the next day, I asked Seline how to hide myself.

The following days, I hid myself, and nothing changed; I was still seen as the weak and worthless omega, but one morning, I awoke suddenly and questioned myself.

"Why are you hiding? Didn't you want this to show you could also be something more than weak and worthless?" I asked myself.

And also, I had an announcement to make. An announcement that would probably change everything, but I had the confidence I needed already.

I took my bath, and when it was time for breakfast, I went down to the breakfast hall with my new face and body.

Everyone was stunned, and I loved the looks on their faces, but I loved none as much as the look on Lucius' face.

"Dusk? How did this happen?" The question was asked by almost everyone, but I had no plan on answering it.

I had come for my announcement.

I looked at Lucius and waited a few seconds before I said, with all seriousness.

"I reject you as my mate."
