Chapter 36: Chapter 36
Kyle's Point of View :
"Daddy, where are we going?" Alexandria asked me happily while I was driving the car.
"To your Grandfather and Grandmother." I replied.
"Really? Hmm." Her happy expression suddenly became sad.
"Why?" I asked after I saw her frowning.
"Mommy's not with us. I'm sad." she answered. I just smiled because of what she was thinking. She was very much like her Mom.
"Don't worry, your mom will come later." I said smiling. Her face suddenly brightens.
"Really? But she's mad at you, Daddy." She's now pouting which is what Twaine usually did when we were together.
"I know. But believe me, she'll come later." I said surely.
"Okay, if you say so." she said.
I just continued driving and when we got home Mommy and Daddy greeted us happily, as well as sister Kaira.
"God, my granddaughter! Finally, we saw you too." Mommy almost said as she continued to kiss and hug Alexandria.
"You look so much like your mommy, God!" My sister, on the other hand, started harassing my daughter. Alexandria did nothing but make them all smile. I just smile watching them.
"Let's go in first, shall we?" I just nodded at them. They seemed happy to see their granddaughter with me.
"So, what's your plan?" I turned to my sister Kaira who I didn't realize had also left with me.
"As I've planned before, I'll propose to her tonight." My sister just smiled at me before she patted my shoulder.
"You love her that much, huh?" she said teasing me.
"Of course." I replied.
"Even if there is no Alexandria in your life?" Sister's assurance. I thought about it. What if we don't have a daughter? Will, what is happening now still happen?
"You told me three months ago that you're going to marry my best friend, right?" I looked at my sister's serious face.
"It's not like I don't like Twaine for you, but Sofia is my best friend." she contonued.
"What do you mean?" I clarify.
"Nothing, Kyle. I just wish your decisions were right this time. I want you to be happy. If being with Twaine and your daughter is the happiness you're looking for, then make it."
"Thank you, Sister. Thank you so much." I said as I hug her tight.
"All right, I'm in, right? I'll fix the things you'll need later." she said and turn her back on me.
"Is everything okay? Gosh! That's not it. Here, let's go, faster! There, you got it!" Sister Kaira was busy assisting the housekeeper with my proposal to Twaine later.
"Alexandria come on. Let Mila dress you up." Her attention was on my daughter now.
"Okay." Alexandria replied.
As I watched them all busy with what they were doing, I felt nervous. I wonder if she accepts my proposal or not? What if she refuses it? What should I do?
"Thinking so much?" I turned to the person who tapped me on the shoulder. It's Dad.
"I'm nervous!" I said, Dad just laughed.
"Why would you? That's not the feeling you have to feel, son. Feel excited and everything will be alright, okay?" he advised me.
"But Dad, she's mad at me. She even told me that she'll no longer believe me. How can I feel excited if—"
"Ssshh, just be a positive, son." he told me with a smile and then he left me completely.
"My God, Kyle! What are you waiting for? I already fixed everything and then you're just standing there?what's up?Dress up, now!" I almost had a heart attack when my sister shouted at me. She looks even more excited than me.
"Yeah! Get dressed." I said laughing. My sister just glared at me so I immediately went up to my room to get dressed.
"Daddy, I'm ready!" Alexandria's happy face appeared on me as I entered my room. There was a look of excitement on her face as she showed me the pink dress she was wearing.
"You're excited as well?" I asked her.
"Yes, Dad." she answered excitedly.
"Why?" I asked her again.
"Because aunt Kaira said that you and mom are going to get married and I'm so excited for that, Daddy! Means, we're going to live as a happy family, right Daddy?" I couldn’t help myself from hugging her tightly. I could also feel my eyes watering because of what she said. Like me, that’s also what my daughter wants. The three of us will form as a family.
"Sshh, Daddy, stop crying. Stop being like mom, okay? Kuya Clyde told me that crying will make you ugly! Do you want to be ugly?" she said pouting.
"Hahaha! Of course, no!" This is really what Clyde is saying to his cousin. I’m happy with the fact that if Alexandria speaks, she's seem a teenager. She's only 6 years old yet her way of speaking doesn't fit her age.
Twaine's Point of View :
"What do you want?" I sarcastically asked Roxanne. I don't know why she suddenly came to the house earlier just to ask me out. Like, hello, are we close? And I also don’t know to myself why I consented to what she wanted. I don't know, there's something inside me telling me that I should go with her. We just get to the café she wants us to go to for a conversation.
"I came here to say sorry," I stopped because of what she said. Seriously? She just wants to apologize and then why do we have to go far?
"Twaine, what you saw yesterday was just a mistake." She started explaining. I just raised my eyebrows as I listened to her. Is she serious? After what she did six years ago? What does she think that I will still believe in her? Hell, no!
"Psh! Don't me, Roxanne, I know you since then. So, stop acting like you're sorry and what I saw was just a mistake. Because I know how desperate you are when it comes to Kyle." I boldly turned to her.
"Twaine, I'm serious here. Yes, I am bad before but people changed especially when they learned from their mistakes. Oh, yes. I've learned a lot. Because what I did six years ago was a mess. I lost Kyle, and the worst is I lost my family. " I was stunned after a series of tears fell in her eyes.
"I betrayed them, and they disowned me as their daughter. I lived my life for six years in hell."
"I know I did too much to you before, to you and Kyle that's why I apologize. I'm already forgiven by Kyle. It's just you and Mom and Dad who can't forgive me yet. I'm having a hard time, I'm having a hard time praying for your all forgiveness." Seeing her crying melts my heart. Somehow, she became my teacher when I was still in school. She was once a kind and loving teacher, not until she falls in love with Kyle. Maybe the saying 'when you love, you go blind' is true because that's what happened to her. She is blinded by her love which leads her to desperation.
"You're forgiven." I realized that like her, I was crying too. I knew she was sorry because I could see it in her eyes. She was also just a human who made mistakes, the important thing is that she learned. And who am I to not forgive? I am human too. I swear that she deserves my forgiveness.
"Re-really? Thank you! Thank you so much, Twaine!" She was so happy as she hugged me over and over again. Finally, Ms. Santos is back! My former adviser and professor during my college days.
