Chapter 33: Chapter 33

Verdict was just coming into the meeting room when the Umberbridge men were just transporting the last unconscious body of the intruder out from the room.

'Am I missing something?' Verdict looked at the people who came out of the room. His eyes then turned to Hazel, who was adjusting her clothes.

'Wow. Brother Raymond!' Verdict rushed over to Hazel. 'Who is this beautiful woman? Am I really missing something?'

Raymond knew exactly what Verdict was thinking. 'Get rid of your perverted brain. Do you have no eyes? Didn't you see those people?'

'I saw. But I think Brother Raymond wanted to change the atmosphere. There, the type who gets more excited when facing danger.'

He massaged his throbbing temples at the answer the man shamelessly said. 'She's badly injured. I just finished treating her wound.'

Hazel nodded, holding out her hand. 'Hazel Skylar, nice to meet you.'

Verdict returned Hazel's helping hand. Then his face looks bright. 'Skylar? Lorenna Skylar?'

Once again, the woman nodded. Verdict took his hand away from Hazel, pulling Raymond a little away from the woman.

'Brother? Actually, what did you do during my absence?' whispered Verdict.

'You know her?'

Verdict nodded. 'Who doesn't know the Skylar family? She is the daughter of Lorenna Skylar, the female leader of the mafia group in Rose city, As far as he could remember, a lot of people are after her. According to the rumours. Graceful, gentle, shy.'

'Gentle? Yes, really. My first impression with her was like that too,' Raymond pointed back. 'Look around you. That woman just beat up five burly men by herself.''

'Y-yes. There are various kinds of soft types, Brother. Don't worry too much,' Verdict patted his shoulder, then walked back to Hazel.

'Are you done talking?' Hazel asked.

'Yes. By the way, where do you know Brother Raymond from?'

'Roommate,' Hazel said, glancing at him, smiling. 'Now ex-girlfriend, but we still live together.'

Verdict immediately turned toward Raymond, tugging his scarf until he could barely breathe. 'Seriously!? What are you doing lately, Brother!'

'Lots of things happened. Did you have to be so hysterical to hear it?' Raymond grabbed Verdict's wrist, then pulled the man's hand away from his scarf before his neck could no longer bear the pain of being wrapped in the scarf. 'There is more important than that.'

'Tsk, I understand. Straight to the point.' Verdict smoothed his clothes, and sat down on the table, beside Raymond's chair, who returned to fix his scarf. 'So what's the plan?'

Thyme, who leaned their body to the side of the door room, pressed a button next to it, took out a data reader slot hidden behind the wall. Then they inserted his cellphone into the data reader slot connected to the hologram screen in front of them.

'I've studied the building plans from the blueprints. Look,' Thyme scaled up the blueprint for the location of Simon's headquarters—a house the same size as King Ludwig's Neuschwanstein castle—marked a circle at six points. 'There are several secret routes that my father made when designing this building. The purpose at first was for an evacuation route in case of any disaster or unexpected things. Here, in the west, there are three points connected to the main room on the second floor, the library on the third floor, and the living room on the second floor. To the east building is one that leads to the kitchen—it's on the second floor. And two to the south, which leads to the cellar on the basement. If the basement was still a warehouse.'

Everyone in the room was carefully examining the blueprint of the building. Raymond stored everything he saw into his brain, while Hazel repeatedly shifted and pinched the holographic screen, enlarging it while studying its structure.

'I want to ask. Before Simon bought this house, did they make a bid?' asked Verdict.

'Not. I raised the price even five times, they were still able to pay for it. Even though at first I didn't intend to sell it.'

'You are way too innocent. You should be aware from the start that there was something wrong with the transaction process,' Verdict grumbled as he folded his hands across his chest, then jumped from the table, approaching Thyme, who did not like Verdict's words just now. 'The first rule when doing business is to know your opponent. Why don't you check their background first?'

'How did I know it would turn out like this?'

'It's a sign that you are still a child,' Verdict patted the top of Thyme's head, looking down so that he was on the same height as Thyme. 'No wonder your height does not increase either.''

'It has nothing to do with height!' Thyme shook off Verdict's hand, to which Verdict's loud laugh came back.

Seeing their bickering, Raymond decided to ignore it and approached Hazel, who was still busy watching the hologram screen.

'Found something?'

Hazel was startled by his presence, almost jumping. The woman kept a little distance from him, which he did not understand, so he went back to Hazel. He could smell her perfume which made him want to hug Hazel if he did not realize that their status was no longer a lover.

'I found two. Take a look,' Hazel scaled the building's blueprint, showing the west side of the building leading to the library. 'In this library, there is a secret path that goes through the dungeon. The information I received was that Simon Clive was trafficking underage children, right?'

He nodded, confirming Hazel's words. In his heart, he admired the figure of Hazel in front of him, who in his eyes was very sexy until he almost lost his focus. The way the woman had conveyed the information to him made him almost lose focus. He turned his gaze back to the holographic screen before Hazel noticed his gaze.

'We can get in here, but not by this secret route. But through this,' Hazel pointed at the library window. 'See? It said the material uses 80 per cent recycled plastic. Means it's not pure glass. I have several tools I can use to destroy this thing without arousing suspicion and restore it to its original form.'

'Interesting. Then the second one?'

Hazel shifted the screen, pointing towards the north where the gate was. 'It's not a secret route, but we can use this to attract the attention of the guards to trick them. We'll put the drones that will spread the gas to paralyze the nervous systems of all those guards as soon as they get to the entrance. We can enter casually without worrying about their attacks.'

Raymond snapped his fingers, leaned back in the chair, liking Hazel's second idea. 'I like your way. We'll use the second one. Thyme! Verdict!'

The two of them did not answer the call, seemingly preoccupied with their own bickering. Good, it looked like they did not even pay attention to what Hazel said earlier.

'I said, there's nothing to do with height!' Thyme pulled Verdict's collar shirt, pissed off.

'It is. It really is. If you're short, then your brain won't grow either! Week!'

'Wait until I'm taller than you!'

'At least not very high' Verdict teased him again, holding the top of Verdict's head.

'Have you finished the fuss?' Raymond glared at the two of them. 'Especially you, Verdict. How old do you think you are?'

'He started it,' replied Verdict.

'You started first,' Thyme replied, not to be outdone.

Seeing Thyme, who could be annoyed over a trivial thing like this made him a little relieved because they always acted like a middle-aged man. But that did not mean he was happy to see him. 'About the plan this time, let's use the second method Hazel said earlier.'

'Second plan?' they asked, simultaneously, accompanied by annoying looks from both sides.

'Once again you start the fight, Verdict, my fist will speak to you,' Raymond clenched his fist, preparing the fist he would literally aim at the man. Then when they were not making a scene anymore, he turned to Hazel. 'Explain again to them our plans tonight.'
