Chapter 32: Chapter 32
So far, the date was going well, I mean everything was in place...the water was cold, attracting more people inside and some were even swimming but I didn't have a swim suit so I couldn't. So instead, Michael took me for a boat ride and I enjoyed every bit of it until I got hungry.
We were back in the tent after Michael chased me there because I asked him to guess what I really wanted to do….. lesson learned, never try that again.
"I'm hungry." I said, still breathing and laughing heavily.
"Look behind you." He said, mainly because I was backing whatever was inside.
"Why should I look…." The rest of the words got stuck in my throat when I saw the table all set and a picnic basket on it. I was already salivating at the mental picture I was creating in my head.
"What are you waiting for?" He asked, as he drew out my chair for me.
"When did you do all this?" I asked, but he just shrugged as he brought out the content of the basket.
"That's not important now... here." He said, as he placed sandwiches on my plate before taking his.
There was fruits, salad, wine and whatever you think should be in a picnic basket and trust me, I made sure to do justice to them.
"I was thinking we could go over to my place." He said, when we were done eating.
"Why didn't you say so sooner?" I asked, already printing mental images of what is going to happen there and it sent cold chills down my spine.
"Well... someone sounds excited." He teased, but he actually had no idea how excited I was.
We managed to clean up despite knowing that the cleaners would come to do it. Michael drove back to his house playing songs in his speaker which I sang along with.
I should be exhausted because we spent hours playing at the beach and it was already six o'clock in the evening but I wasn't exhausted, just happy that I was with him.
When he led me inside, he asked me to close my eyes and I was wondering why and not because I didn't trust him…..I did, but this is not something I was asked to do often.
"Why?" I asked, looking around for possible danger…..you can't be too careful these days.
"Angel...just close your eyes. Do you trust me?" He asked.
"Is that a trick question, of course I trust him." I thought before nodding my head.
When I closed my eyes, he opened the door and led me in carefully since my eyes were still closed.
"Can I open them now?" I asked, whining impatiently.
"Just one more minute Angel." He said.
"Ok." I answered.
"You can open it now." He said, and immediately my eyes sprang wide open only to be met with darkness again.
"Wait for ten seconds before you scream danger." He said and I chuckled because my mouth was already opened halfway to do that.
He then clapped his hands and immediately, the lights came on. I nearly started crying at the sight.. flower petals were scattered all around, the table was covered with a white table cloth and on it was a vase of flowers and the table was set for two, there was a candle beside it but it wasn't on yet. The heart shaped cardboard all had something beautiful to say.
Let's not get started on the balloons that were arranged around in different colors in the dinning. They looked so beautiful.
"Is this for me?" I asked, tears welling in my eyes... Nobody has ever done something like this for me, not that I even have a lot of people who cared about me anyways when even my parents didn't want me.
"You're the only one around here." He answered, before turning to look at me.
"Are you okay? Don't you like it?" He asked, clearly confused why I was crying.
"I love it, it's beautiful." I said.
"Why are you crying then?" He asked.
"No one has ever done something like this for me, this is tears of joy." Iexplained, and I saw him breathe in relief.
"Come sit then." He said, drawing a chair for me before going over to his side.
He lit the candles and I couldn't help but smile. I took the napkin and laid it on my lap waiting for whatever he had prepared to be served.
He didn't disappoint when he brought out the big chunk of chicken and placed it on my plate, before serving the fried rice and salad that was well packaged on the table. He also filled my empty glass with wine before doing the same to his own cup.
As we ate, I couldn't believe how lucky I was and how thoughtful he was... making me feel like the luckiest girl even without knowing it. I kept looking at him as I ate my food.
"You look like you want to eat me instead." He said.
"Maybe I want to." I told him, and he started coughing.
"Sorry.." I said slyly as I stood up to pat his back and help him with water. I went back to my seat when I was certain he was okay.
He wasn't lying when he said he could cook... because he really could. When we finished eating, I attempted to carry my plate to the kitchen….. thinking about it, I haven't been to his kitchen before. He didn't let me, saying I shouldn't stress myself...I mean I offered.
"Sit here and keep looking pretty while I do justice to the dishes." He said, as he placed me on the counter top when we entered his kitchen.
And for a guy, his kitchen is to die for. It had everything I have always wanted as a child who had dreams.
"Are you sure you don't want me to help?" I asked.
"Just stay there and watch this handsome hunk work wonders." He said, and I nodded as he started doing the dishes.
I watched as he continued the dishes, he did it too without much effort.
Earlier, he removed the denim he was wearing, so he was left with the white inner which flexed his muscles and just looking at it, I know what I wanted to do….it might sound desperate but it's fine because I'm not, I'm just a girl with wishes and desires.
"I'm going to do it." I thought.
And without thinking twice, I jumped down from the counter with only one thing in mind.
"Here we go." I thought.
