Chapter 26: Chapter 26

You don't love someone for their looks, or their clothes or their fancy car. You love them because they sing a song only you can hear.

//Chapter Twenty-seven\\

Noel's POV

Hi love, I had to leave this morning- sadly though. I made omelets, go grab it while its hot assuming you wake up early. See you later.

PS: dress warmly.

I added the note to the other notes inside my shoe box in the last drawer. The shoe box was getting full, it was filled with all the notes Aaron sent me during English class and the ones he left in morning. I don't know why I'm keeping them or maybe I do.

Whatever it is that's going on between me and Aaron I don't know if it would last, it might just be still the end of this year or till the end of school year. Whatever it is when and if it does come to an end, I would want to look back at those notes and remember Aaron, remember all the times he made me smile, remember everything that happened between us and on a bad day those notes, those notes that look so tiny, crumpled and meaningless, on a bad day I'm positive it would make me smile.

Also I have gotten the habit of keeping a part of somebody with me. You never know what will happen and whoosh that special person would be gone or just not in your life anymore. Those notes are a part of Aaron and trust me I'll cherish it. The thought of Aaron not being here with me gives me a very sickening feeling, I can't start to imagine it. And I won't.

"Positive thoughts Noel, positive thoughts," I say to myself as I get into the bathroom. As always my come-kill-me cramp is gone, the storm cloud has passed by, I'll still have mood swings for the rest of my period though. Curse period.

After my bath, I come out to get dressed and I hear commotion coming from next door, two people are arguing really loudly saying things I couldn't clearly hear. I slowly moved to my window and place my ear to the glass. Ok eavesdropping is one bad habit I need get rid off. Fast.

Now closer I make out Jesse's voice, another really angry man's own and the faint one of a Lady. Jesse and the man were really getting it on but I couldn't hear I word about what they were fighting about. I open my window to listen more but the cold wind that rushes in has me shutting it off as fast as a I'd do if my skirt was lifting up on a windy day. Bummer no more eavesdropping for me. I just hope Jesse's okay.

Pulling on jeans, a sweatshirt and a hoodie, I rushed downstairs with my brown boots and beanie in hand. "Good morning Mom," I greeted entering the kitchen.

She didn't answer and I moved my face to hers, she puts her finger on her lip, "shssh."

I frown what were we shssh-ing for.

"You're so crazy, a worthless piece of crap! Waste of space!" Jesse shouted the words coming out really clearly now.

Oh.

"Don't you dare talk to me like that!" The other man shouted.

We're eavesdropping. What a surprise that is. Like mother, like daughter.

"What are doing to do?! What. Are. You. Going. To. Do!" Jesse shouted stressing each word.

I heard a loud crash, me and my mom both jerked a little our head snapping to our neighbors house. My heart was already beating wildly, I was scared for Jesse.

"Good morning baby how was your night?" My mom whispered to me, bringing my attention back to her.

"Fine. What's going on?" I whispered back jerking my thumb to the Donovan's.

Mom shrugged, "I don't know, they've been at it for hours."

"Would you people just stop! Let my son go Lewis. Let him go!" The Lady shouted her voice croaked like she's been crying or shouting for long.

Oh Jesse.

"Shouldn't we go help? Or do something?" I asked with concern as I put on my boots. I can't imagine anything happening to Jesse, my new bro.

"Its bad enough we're listening in. We can't just go and interrupted family feud. Its not done. No no," my mum said taking a sip of her tea.

I scooped up spoons of Aaron's delicious omelets but I didn't really have enough appetite. So I saved up for later.

"What the fuck!" I heard the unmistakable voice of someone really close. My heart leaped. He's hear. I rushed to the window, wanting to see Aaron.

"Just get him out of here AL," the woman who I now is Jesse's mom, Naomi cried out.

"I'll kill you!" Jesse spat out to the man as Aaron dragged him out. "I'll kill you and bury your body in the mountains. Let me not see you when I be back in 5 minutes!" He shrugged off Aaron and walked to car, getting in and shutting the door loudly. Aaron followed suit and the car screeched out the neighborhood.

I released a breath of relief and so did mom. "Bye mom."

"Bye baby, take care of yourself." She kissed my cheek and I walked out, the cold wind hitting me immediately, I pulled my hoodie to me and tucked my hands into its pockets.

Guess I'm walking to school today. I look at Jesse's motorcycle still parked inside. I don't know why I did but I frowned at the house. "Fuck you, whoever you are."

I reach school and I'm not late. I see a slouched figure resting on my locker. Its takes a second to recognize him. Aaron. He looks up when I'm within five feet from him. The worried and thoughtful frown on his quickly disappears and is replaced with a smile, his blue eyes glowing.

"Hey, " he says pulling himself off my locker and straightening up. Showing off his really tall self.

I smile and its like I'm overwhelmed with different feelings, relief, happiness, gratefulness and one other really strong one that pushes me to jump into his arms hugging him. I know the gesture surprises him but his hugging me back immediately, his warm hands pulling me to him. His warm and his scent engulfs me, the same one that's lingering on my bedsheets. I snuggle into the hug closing me eyes, I know Aaron is smiling, I can feel it.

There's something about this hug, something that says our relationship, friendship had shifted, upgraded. Something that felt right. Something that made me feel safe, at home.

We reluctantly pulled away from each other and I noticed people looking looking but I couldn't careless. "Good morning," I breathed out, smiling.

He smiled too, "Good morning." We stayed there looking at each other with a smile on our faces. The world could turn upside down and we wouldn't notice. After a while Aaron speaks breaking the moment. "How are you?"

I sigh, "I'm fine and please do not speak of my period, ever. It's already so embarrassing."

He chuckled raising his hands up, "the pleasure is all mine."

I playfully hit him, "asshole."

He laughed before turning a little bit serious and reaching for my hands taking it in his. "I have to go now. I've got some shit to solve so I won't be attending classes today." My face fell but I understood him. He gave my hands a warm squeeze, "I'll see you later? Parking lot after school?"

I nodded, "you guys are going to be alright right?"

"You heard." He said cocking his head to look at me.

"Ofcourse I did."

"Hope you sleep wasn't disturbed?"

"No, I slept like a baby. Thanks to you." I said blushing a little.

He smiled, "You're welcome. And yea we'll be fine."

"Bye Aaron." I said waving slightly at him as he backed away about to leave. I'm gonna miss him.

"Bye love." He gave his legendary smile before walking off and out of school.

I sighed, opening my locker. Another day without Aaron. Its like there's no more light in school anymore. English class would surely be boring. I packed my things out and start moving to class, I'm gonna be early today.

All of a sudden someone pushes me from my right side and another from my left making my books in my hand all fall to the ground. I look up shocked and I see that its Lora and Madison that pushed me, while Quinn walks to my front hands on her hip. I roll my eyes choosing to ignore them attention seekers. I bend to retrieve my books and Lora kicks one away while Quinn place her perfect heel on the other.

I guess they don't want to be ignored. "What you want Quinn? What do you all want?"

"We?" Quinn asked batting her fake eye lashes like an ostrich in dire need of eye drops. "We just want to play? Or do you play with only boys? You slut!"

"Quinn," I sighed out tapping my foot and licking my dry lips, I could literally feel my patience seeping out of me. "I don't have you time, I don't need trouble this chill morning. Mind your business and wag your ostrich ass out of my sight!"

She gasped surprised at my insult. I take the opportunity to retrieve my notes yanking out the one that's under her foot making her unstable for a second. I start walking to my class but someone yanks my beanie off my head making me turn to her so fast I almost get a whiplash.

"You don't get to insult me and walk away!" Quinn spat, her face all red with anger.

"Give me back my beanie Quinn," I said calmly holding onto a lock of my hair, I suddenly felt exposed, unsafe, alone. If she doesn't give me back my beanie I think I'll start trembling.

She smiled seeing how uncomfortable I looked. "Oh this?" She lifted it up and dangled in her finger. "Why do you always wear it anyway? She always wears it doesn't she?"

"Yea, she always does." Lora answers her hands on her hip.

"Hmm I wonder what's it about a beanie," Quinn said looking at him.

"Give me back my beanie Quinn," I could feel myself slipping away for once I didn't have anything to say to her, to defend myself.

"What are you talking about this trash?" Quinn asked looking at me with mock curiosity.

"Just give me back."

"Let's put it where it belongs," Madison says, "in the trash."

Quinn gasps, "yea good idea Maddy. Trashy girl, trashy beanie all belong to the trash." I didn't say anything and Quinn walks to the trashcan, opens it and drops my beanie into it. Then she dust her hands by slapping it together. "There all done." They smile and walk away.

I go to the trash and retrieve my beanie, surprisingly the trash is filled with trash. Janitor or whoever is slacking. Dusting it off, I place it on me with a sigh getting my confidence back. Oh no she didn't. Noel calm down, calm down Quinn doesn't deserve for her head to be axed off. I breath out and try to calm myself.

Think about parks, think about food, think about swimming, think about games, think about Aaron's perfect tan. Think about the way his voice is so smooth and sexy with the little Spanish accent that is almost goes unnoticed. Think about his smile and his hug and his scent. I smile opening my eyes, I'm all calm now. Aaron's my drug. I start walking to the class forgetting all about Quinn.

I see her by her locker and I smile at her, she frowns and when I'm about to move pass, she sets her foot in the way making me almost fall. Ok that's it! I look at her in seething anger and she crosses her arms glaring at me. She daring me, she wants a reaction and that's what she'll get.

I shove my books into a student nearby, walk to the trashcan. The full trashcan, thanks a lot Janitor or whoever. I walk back to Quinn and she looks at me confused. I flash her my award winning smirk before opening up the can, turning it over and dumping all its contents on her.

I hear a collective gasp from everyone, a few 'oooh's' and soon phone cameras are flashing everywhere. Quinn is dumbstruck, frozen and eye wide. There a banana peel on her head and a few other trashy stuff on her head, shoulder, I'm positive inside her clothes too. And a pool of a trash at her feet.

I move away from her pinching my nose shut to the smell oozing out the trash. "Finally, a stink to match your personality."

Oohs and aahs echo through the hallway. "Bitch!" Lora said coming at me, I use the empty trashcan in my hand to hit her and she falls to the ground immediately. I turn to Maddy.

"You want some?" She says nothing and just glares at me. "You three should just leave me be."

"What on Jupiter's sake is going on here?" The principal says coming into view, students start scrambling to their various classes, I guess the bell went off and didn't notice. He gasps as he sees Quinn still frozen in trash her eyes glassy. "Fanning?"

His face turns red as he looks at us, "You four, my office, now!"

Oh shit.

.

.

"Did you solve all the shit you had to solve?" I asked Aaron as I saw him relaxing on his car waiting for me.

"Yes, all shit is solved." He said with a smile, he notice my glum face. "What's wrong?"

I walk to him dragging my feet, " I'm not happy."

He cups my cheek making me have fish mouth, "And what's got my dolphin all sad?"

I smile slapping his hand away. "Sanitary duty. I've got one week sanitation duty for squabbling with Quinn. She's got it too."

"Ooh interesting," Aaron said opening my door for me and walking to his, " what happened?"

I smiled at the opening door gesture, truthfully I'm no longer sad since his here, I just feel unjust. "I'll tell you on the way, are we going home?"

"Nope," he says driving out.

I sigh in relief. "Thank God, I don't want to go home. Where are we going then?"

He smiles at me.

"Aaron?"

"Dancing class." He says simply.

It takes me a while to decipher those two words. Dancing class, dancing class, dancing... What?

"What?!"
