Heroes' Prison Chapter 72

Finally, it’s time to evolve! This is Huang Yi’s first time initiating evolution on his own, as his first form, the Spirit Cat, was arranged by the system and not chosen by himself. But now, he can to some extent make his own choices during evolution, even though he can only select from one of the 100 common races in The Second World. At least he can evolve with purpose and direction.

Huang Yi did not act rashly, knowing evolution required long-term consideration. He decided to seek the opinion of Luo’an, a wise old scholar with extensive knowledge of both heaven and earth, and vastly experienced. Surely, he could offer the best advice.

Huang Yi decided to continue level grinding before seeking out Luo’an tomorrow in the Warrior Hall.

Reaching Level 20 meant that Huang Yi could finally upgrade his equipment significantly. He had killed many Half-Beastmen in the Wind Forest Stronghold and obtained a batch of equipment that could only be worn from Level 20, among which the best item was undoubtedly the Guard Captain’s Blue Martial Wolf Fang Club!

Huang Yi immediately swapped out his old equipment for the new batch and switched his gauntlets for the ferocious Wolf Fang Club. After this major overhaul, his attributes soared, doubling in strength, and his attack power broke through 2000 points. The Gardener’s health points were exactly 2000 points, so without considering their defense attribute, he could almost instakill a Gardener with a single blow.

Now sporting the new equipment, Huang Yi looked fierce and formidable, especially with the Wolf Fang Club in hand, which was over two meters long and bristled with backward-facing spikes, giving him the unstoppable presence of a warrior no one dares to challenge.

With this new power, Huang Yi no longer feared the 5th BOSS. He charged straight at him, a swing of the club smashing onto the Gardener’s head, sending him flying ten meters away, crashing into a tree trunk and dislodging a shower of leaves...

A minute later, Huang Yi had taken down the watering Gardener, clearing the 7th Stage.

Upon the death of the watering Gardener BOSS, a ring dropped, marking the first piece of equipment Huang Yi obtained in this place.

[Overlord’s Contract Ring] (Green Gear, Jewelry Set – Ring)

Magic Defense: 17

Strength: +20

Constitution: +17

Durability: 200/200

Required Level: 17

Equipment Score: 34

Item Description: A magical piece of jewelry that allows one to wear higher-level equipment when a complete set is collected.

[Overlord’s Contract Set]

Three pieces: Allows the wearer to equip items that are up to 3 levels higher than their own.

Five pieces: Allows the wearer to equip items that are up to 5 levels higher than their own.

Without much expectation for the ring, Huang Yi’s interest was piqued when he saw the set effects. He had higher-level equipment but lacked the levels to wear them. If he could collect a complete jewelry set, he could equip those high-level items ahead of time.

However, he estimated that the drop rate for this jewelry set was quite low, and he wasn’t sure how long it would take to collect all the pieces.

Next, Huang Yi ascended to the 8th Stage. The garden setting was the same, the only difference being the gardeners there were one level higher and more formidable.

With his strength doubled, Huang Yi easily handled the 8th Stage gardeners. Wielding the tremendous Wolf Fang Club, a single hit would deliver a critical hit and instakill a Gardener.

He then executed[Judgment], spinning rapidly and turning his Wolf Fang Club into a violent whirlwind that covered a wide area, much more spectacular than when he used the gauntlets!

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!" The surrounding gardeners stood no chance against the fierce wind, their health points rapidly decreasing!

While spinning and moving, Huang Yi was like a tornado, leaving a trail of Gardener corpses in his wake, and his experience points soared.

This time,[Judgment]lasted a full 15 seconds. During the spin, he consumed 10 rage points per second, but every hit on an enemy granted him an additional point of rage. As long as there were more than 10 monsters around, he could keep spinning indefinitely, maintaining his rage.

In this way, Huang Yi fought bravely forward until he reached the 9th Stage. Here, he could no longer clear the stage, as the third BOSS could kill him.

The third BOSS was the Great Gardener, wielding a Flower Vine with both diseasing and poisoning effects. A mere touch would infect and continuously drain health until death.

Huang Yi’s resistance to viruses was low, and he often fell before the BOSS.

He gave up on the BOSS, returned to Thornbush City, reset the secret realm, and then teleported back to continue killing minions and level grinding.

After grinding overnight, Huang Yi reached Level 21, and in the process, he acquired another piece of the Overlord’s Contract Set, the Necklace, bringing him two pieces of the set. Just one more piece and he would activate the first set effect, allowing him to wear equipment 3 levels above his own.

Huang Yi checked the time; it was breakfast in Rose Prison. He quickly left The Second World, swiftly brushed his teeth, washed his face, had breakfast, and then returned.

Back online, he didn’t continue grinding in the Tower of Pantheons, but instead went to the Warrior Hall in Thorn City, sneaking up to the 5th Stage to find Luo’an.

"Instakill, you’re here early!" At that moment, Luo’an was in the library, studying an old elfish scroll, and adjusted his glasses upon seeing Huang Yi arrive.

"Yes! Grandpa Luo’an, I have something I want to ask about," Huang Yi said straightforwardly, immediately discussing the matter of evolution.
