Heroes' Prison Chapter 31
Chen Yuxi was the first to accuse, branding Huang Yi with a crime by implicating him as a murderous brute who would kill for profit. In doing so, he instantly seized the moral high ground.
"We are all members of the Half-Beastmen Clan, bonded by blood stronger than water. We should help each other. Just now, Instakill ambushed our brother and stole our Spirit Cat, which makes him a common enemy. He’s alone now, so let’s cast aside any pretense of righteousness or morals and attack together! Even if he is Instakill, how could he possibly fend off so many of us simultaneously?" Skull added fuel to the fire.
"He who wants to frame someone will surely find a pretext!" Huang Yi couldn’t be bothered with wasting words and vaulted high into the air, pouncing fiercely upon Skull and smacking him with a swipe of his paw.
Skull, who intended to say more to stir up the atmosphere, was caught off guard by Huang Yi’s sudden assault and had no time to react before being struck squarely on the head.
"Ah!" The next moment, Skull screamed in pain as the tremendous force of the blow sent him flying, and the flames on Huang Yi’s claws ignited his Magic Robe like an excruciatingly persistent disease.
Skull crashed to the ground with a thud, spitting out a mouthful of blood, and then rolled around in terror, trying to snuff out the flames on his robe. But the fire seemed to be immortal, resisting his attempts to quench it, continuously inflicting damage upon him.
Huang Yi didn’t kill him with that blow, unlike before when all three of them had their equipment destroyed and rendered useless, which led to their Instakill. However, after resurrecting and returning to camp, they repaired their equipment, so their Equipment Attributes were enhanced. By contrast, Huang Yi was still without any equipment, thus diminishing the threat of his claw attack and ensuring it didn’t result in an instakill.
Quickly, Huang Yi bounded once more, this time lunging at Chen Yuxi and fiercely slapping him across the face.
Chen Yuxi was sent flying, crashing hard into the ground and leaving a long trail behind him.
From launching Skull to slapping Chen Yuxi, Huang Yi’s actions were lightning-fast. Before anyone could react, they’d already been attacked.
Chen Yuxi climbed up from the ground, furiously shouting at the brothers behind him, "This Instakill is outrageous, attacking despite the presence of so many Half-Beastmen. Everyone, attack now!"
"Cut the crap!" Huang Yi once again charged at Chen Yuxi, extending his claws engulfed in raging flames, and fiercely swiped at his head!
Huang Yi’s movements were utterly unpredictable, launching attacks at any moment, making him impossible to guard against.
"Iron Fist Defense!" This time, Chen Yuxi was prepared, immediately employing a Defense Skill, blocking in front of himself with both iron fists, managing to withstand Huang Yi’s attack. Still, the massive impact forced him to stagger back several steps.
This slight delay allowed Skull and the Icy Greatsword to quickly adjust their stance for combat!
The rest of the Half-Beastmen grabbed their weapons and began their assault.
The mages held up their Magic Wands to the sky, starting to chant Magic Spells!
The warriors brandished their weapons and charged at Huang Yi!
The archers notched Arrows upon their bowstrings!
...
Now, Huang Yi was facing an onslaught from dozens of assailants simultaneously; furthermore, he had to protect the Little White Cat in his arms, seemingly putting him on the defensive.
However, he chose not to linger in battle. He ran full tilt and quickly burst into the dense jungle nearby, concealed amidst the branches and underbrush, vanishing without a trace.
"Everyone, pursue! Split up and encircle him!" Chen Yuxi commanded the group as they started to chase after Huang Yi.
With Little White Cat in tow, Huang Yi weaved through the jungle. He then swiftly climbed up a large tree and let out a long howl to the sky: "Call of the Wild!"
Immediately, a vast roar swept outwards in all directions—a colossal and distant sound, as if summoning the spirits of the past from the depths of history’s vast expanse, calling upon the heroic souls of the ages from the vast river of time.
Suddenly, ripples flashed across the sky, and then two strange creatures materialized out of thin air!
One was a Hunting Dog, its body shrouded in green flames, with eyes filled with grim determination, and its mouth dripping with flames that fell like Magma to the ground, hissing as they burned the earth.
The other was a Falcon, its body almost transparent, with remarkable stealth capabilities. Its feathered wings seemed to be formed of knives melded together that gleamed sharply under the Moonlight, appearing and disappearing in the air—unpredictable and impossible to defend against.
This was Huang Yi’s first Racial Skill "Call of the Wild," capable of summoning a Hunting Dog and a Falcon to assist in battle. Their intelligence was very low, requiring the master’s commands to attack. If the master lacked combat awareness, these two Summoned Creatures could become a distraction. Rather than being helpful, they could even hinder their master’s efforts.
Huang Yi wasted no time in issuing instructions, directing the Falcon to scout ahead.
The Falcon swiftly flew forward, nearly invisible and hidden among the dense branches, making it difficult for even the keenest-eyed hunters to spot.
Soon, through the Falcon’s eyes, Chen Yuxi and his cohort came into view, rushing towards the source of Huang Yi’s Call of the Wild. By this point, Chen Yuxi and Skull had already recovered from their injuries, thanks to the Healing Class’s efforts. Considering their numerical advantage and the presence of supporting healers, unless they could be swiftly defeated, they would quickly recover from even grave injuries.
Huang Yi, guided by the Falcon’s vision, extinguished the red flames on his claws and the green flames on the Hunting Dog. Then, he stealthily moved, circling to the side of the advancing crowd and hiding behind a tree.
