Heroes' Prison Chapter 115
"I’ll take these," Huang Yi immediately pointed at the two mirrors, as they were just what he needed to solve a big problem.
"Don’t rush, let me finish introducing everything first. Even if you have many Achievement Points, you can’t buy all the trinkets I have here, so you need to pick what suits you," Kula Mingyue advised patiently, continuing to introduce the small wonders in his pack, "This paper kite can change into various colors with the weather, fluttering about like a butterfly, making it a great item for amusing girls; this telescope is called the Water Seeking Mirror, and it’s very useful in the desert, able to detect water sources within a 100-kilometer radius; this small compass is also quite extraordinary, able to search for anything within one kilometer that has the same scent as a particular item, perfect if you’re prone to losing things; this Medicine Bottle here can randomly produce one drop of potion every day, with varying qualities and functions, sometimes it might be an Invisibility Potion, allowing you to turn invisible, or it might just be a common Life Recovery Potion, replenishing a bit of your Health Points, and if you’re extremely lucky, it could even produce an S-grade insta-kill potion, using it to instakill someone..."
Kula Mingyue introduced dozens of oddities from his pack one by one, their uses indeed bizarre and far from everyday items. However, in certain special circumstances, they could indeed play a special role.
"So, have you made a choice now?" Kula Mingyue smiled.
"I want these two Projection Mirrors," Huang Yi was the first to point at the two damaged mirrors.
"This requires 80 Common Achievement Points, are you sure you want to buy it?" Kula Mingyue asked.
"Sure!" Huang Yi nodded, he currently had 89 Common Achievement Points, just enough to make the purchase.
Kula Mingyue immediately took out a small box, with a handprint inside, and said to Huang Yi, "Press your palm here, and this hand seal will absorb the Achievement aura from your body, deducting 80 Achievement Points."
Huang Yi promptly placed his hand on it, and immediately an aura traveled up his arm into his palm and into the box, after which he discovered that 80 of his Common Achievement Points had been deducted.
"All right, take these Projection Mirrors," Kula Mingyue picked up the two broken mirrors and placed them in Huang Yi’s hands.
"I’ll also take this Water Seeking Mirror, and this compass," Huang Yi pointed at a fist-sized metal telescope and a palm-sized small compass.
With a chuckle, Kula Mingyue said, "These two items are not something the average person can afford! The Water Seeking Mirror needs one Special Achievement Point, whereas the compass needs two Special Achievement Points."
"No problem, I’ll take them both," Huang Yi said and promptly pressed his hand onto the palm print in the box, after which his three Special Achievement Points were completely deducted.
"Hm? I didn’t expect you to actually have three Special Achievement Points. I underestimated you," Kula Mingyue was slightly surprised, then picked up the Water Seeking Mirror and compass and handed them to Huang Yi.
"Do you have anything here that needs to be purchased with Unique Achievement Points?" Huang Yi asked. He still had one Unique Achievement Point left, the most top-level of Achievement Points, which should be able to exchange for the best item.
"Only one!" Kula Mingyue said as he took out a small bottle from his pack, "It’s this Medicine Bottle, which can randomly produce one drop of potion every day, bringing you a surprise daily. This Medicine Bottle is the only one of its kind in the world, so you’ll need to exchange one Unique Achievement Point for it."
Huang Yi couldn’t help but take the Medicine Bottle and examined it closely. The bottle resembled a test tube from a chemistry experiment, completely transparent with a cork stopper at the top, containing a tiny red liquid inside.
"This drop of red liquid was just bred today; it’s a Life Recovery Potion. It doesn’t have much use, as it will disappear tomorrow, to be replaced by a new potion. As long as your luck is good enough, this medicine bottle could breed some very powerful potions. If you’re reluctant to use them, you can first put them in a crystal vial for later use," explained Kula Mingyue.
"Well then! I’ll exchange for this medicine bottle," said Huang Yi, stretching out his hand to press on the hand seal in the box. His Unique Achievement Points were deducted afterward.
Now, Huang Yi’s Achievement Points had nearly run out; only 9 Common Achievement Points remained, not enough to buy anything else here.
Huang Yi stored the four new trinkets he’d purchased in his storage ring, then asked Kula Mingyue the original purpose of his visit: "Do you know which way to Dragon City? And, is there an oasis filled with dandelions in this desert?" The oasis filled with dandelions he referred to was the hometown of Murloc Nightwalker Slark, only that was a scene from Ancient Times, and he wasn’t sure if it still existed.
"I have heard of Dragon City. If you head towards the northeast, crossing this Desolate Sands, you will reach it. However, I haven’t heard of an oasis filled with dandelions; Desolate Sands is too vast, and I’m only familiar with a very small part of it. But the road to Dragon City to the northeast passes through two-thirds of the oases in Desolate Sands. If you head that way, you should have a fair chance of stumbling upon one," explained Kula Mingyue, pointing in the northeast direction.
"Great! Thank you so much!" Huang Yi thanked her and then left, hastening towards the northeast.
As for Kula Mingyue, she reattached her pack and placed it into the storage ring, then continued walking in her direction, acting as a Traveling Merchant wandering through the desert.
...
The sun reached its zenith and then slowly set, transforming into a red fireball dropping below the horizon, signaling the arrival of another night. The desert’s heat quickly receded, turning cold, with a large temperature difference.
Huang Yi had been on the move for an entire day but had yet to see a single oasis; Desolate Sands truly was vast beyond measure, leaving him wondering when he would make his way out.
Weary and hungry, Huang Yi found a large rock that provided some shade and lit a campfire, caught a sand rabbit, skinned it, skewered it on a stick, and started to roast it.
Soon, the rich aroma of the meat began to waft through the air. Huang Yi took out some wild fruits he had picked in the desert during the day from his storage ring, squeezed them hard, and let the juice drip onto the roasting meat. Instantly, the fragrance of the meat mixed with the fruitiness, inducing salivation and increasing appetite.
Huang Yi tucked into his meal heartily, the meat flavored with the fruit juice tasted fresh and aromatic with every bite.
This was how the first desert dinner began, amidst the savory scents of the roast meat.
