Chapter 18: Chapter 18

Arhaan's P.O.V.

It was 11 in the morning. I was busy in office with my files when my phone rang off. Glancing at the caller ID, I immediately answered the call and spoke up, “Vai?” only to hear the tensed voice of Muhib Vai

as he spoke up, “Arhaan, actually I have got an important meeting to attend at late in the afternoon. I don't think, I will be able to accompany you out of the town for your important meeting today. But I will leave to attend your meeting as soon as I get completed with my meeting here.”

Sensing his concern, I spoke up, “Vai, it's okay. You don't need to get tensed. I know the meeting is very important and with a big company but you can believe me. I will be able to handle the meeting on my own. By doing such hurry, you don't need to attend it.”

“Arhaan, it's not like I don't believe in you. But you being there alone out of town is bothering me.”

Hearing him, talking like Api, I interrupted him in between and spoke up, “Vai, please. Don't act like Api. Besides it's not like I have always been home but abroad and even without you people, remember?”

In his defense, he spoke up, “I know Arhaan and I didn't mean that.”

I knew vai didn't mean that. He just didn't want me to feel pressurize with handling the meeting all alone.

Keeping silent for a moment, I spoke up smilingly, “Vai, you have already taken more than enough responsibilities and now its my turn. Let me check my capability in this business world whether I am worth to be called as the MD of Mahmud Industries.”

“Okay then. You carry on. But always remember that you are not alone there as you have me as your backup.” Vai spoke up andI  could feel his sincerity in his voice and then I uttered gratefully, “I know Vai. Thank you.”

“Okay, yaar. You take care. Allah Hafiz.” saying this, vai cut off the line.

Now I will be handling the project fully on my own and I have to prove my capability. I just can't let down ME and Vai also. Thinking like this, I concentrated fully on the presentation for the meeting.

After getting my all work done, I left the office before 2 PM. Its a 3 and half hours journey from here and the meeting is supposed to hold at 5:30 PM.

Khushi’s P.O.V.

.

After lunch, I went to bed to get some sleep again but woke up having a dream. Remembering the dream, a smile crept on my lips. I dreamt about my sweet times with Mummy in my childhood. Those days were the best times of my life.

But when I caught the sight of the picture of Mummy in the photo frame, my eyes got all watery. I got down from bed and getting ready while sobbing, I left my house and forwarded towards my destination getting on a taxi.

When I reached there, it was almost dark. I looked all around the graveyard. There was none. Without bothering about the time, I kept standing and crying outside the graveyard wall at that side where Mummy was put to sleep forever.

I didn’t know how long I was like that until rain started falling on me. Looking at the almost dark sky, I felt it had also started crying.

Keeping like that for a good time even after that, I started walking towards my house. It was a long way but I didn’t get on a taxi but kept walking thoughtlessly.

I knew if I got home like this and somehow Abbu and Vaia gets to see me, the consequence won’t be any good for me but I still kept walking without bothering that.

As I was going on thinking about my life, tears didn't  stop falling down from my eyes. While walking I didn’t  know when I came to the middle of the road until I got all startled being about to get pushed by a car.

Being all shocked, I couldn’t get myself to move from my place rather stood there frozen

Arhaan's P.O.V.

The meeting went on smoothly. It was almost 7 PM. The project deal was finalised after meeting. With uttered satisfaction, I called Vai to give him the news only to hear another tensed voice of Api beside him.

Right then I heard Api uttering directly to me, “Arhaan, Vai where are you right now?”

Being confused, I spoke up, “I am in office Api. But what happened? Why are you all tensed?”

“Vai, the weather seems unwell. You don't need to travel tonight. Stay there or any nearby hotel.” She got ordering at last part while speaking.

I looked outside and find it was just raining slightly and spoke up, “Api, it's not that bad. Don’t you worry. I will reach home in few hours. Bye.”

Before api could say anything else, I cut off the line and walked towards my car. Hopping in, I forwarded towards home in at a great speed.

But to my luck my car got stopped midway. I tried restarting but nothing happened only to get me utter, “It has to happen now out of all time!”

I got out in frustration to check what's the problem. It was raining heavily then.

Whatever the problem was, I couldn't solve it. There was no possibility to have a mechanic then. I saw a building right beside the road but no hotels or something.

Glancing all around, I was about to enter my car again then I saw her walking forwards. She seemed lost somewhere.

I uttered under my breath being all confused, “Now what's up with her!”

While shaking my head, I uttered in annoyance, “Whatever!” and was about to get in the car again but seeing her coming in the middle of the road while walking and a car going towards her, I stopped.

Without bothering anything, she was still walking towards the car.

I got there running and moved her from the way of the car while uttering loudly, “Khushii?”

She was looking down and being myself, I started yelling at her, “What's wrong with you damn it? Have you lost it?”

She looked up at me for a moment and then started walking forwards without uttering anything.

I uttered in irritation, “What the!” and kept standing in the rain looking at her going forward only to see her losing her sense slowly.

Getting near immediately, I held her before she could fall down...
