Chapter 28: Chapter 28

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Author's Pov

Rose had spent months meticulously planning her revenge, gathering evidence, and infiltrating Ryan's inner circle. The shock on their faces made her almost satisfied with herself, but it wasn't going to stop here.

Oh no, they haven't seen hell yet, she thought.

Giving a brief speech about the project before making her way to Mr. XXXX and his wife. They both stood there in shock but at the same time amazed.

The young lady in front of them had really changed from the last time they saw her; it was almost as if the last name added to her made her glow out.

Rose slightly talked to them, not absent-minded about the glare she was getting from her exes on the other side of the table. This was really going to get interesting.

Selena couldn't believe who her eyes were looking at at the moment. Why does this lady keep coming back into their lives? She asked herself, screaming inside her head.

She thought she had everything under control, and their lives were beginning to come back to shape after the media had forgotten about her missing self and stopped pestering them about their relationship.

Why? Just why does this bitch have to come back now? She thought fearlessly of the fact that she might be in trouble with attempted murder charges and the rest.

The bitch did not only come back to live, but had to come back with one of the strongest last names in the whole of the Italian nobles.

Fuck! He screamed inwardly, glaring daggers into the lady on the other side of the hall.

Why couldn't she just be dead? She asked again.

Besides, what exactly did Mr. Alfonso see in her that led him to not only date her but also marry her? Something was definitely not right here, and she had promised to get to the bottom of it.

Rose turned her gaze to them for a moment before placing a smirk at the corner of her lips at them, then turning her gaze back at Anna and saying something to her.

Selena sneered at her before turning her gaze to the man beside her. Her heart broke within the span of a second. She couldn't believe that the man for whom she had sacrificed her whole life and career these past few months was looking at his exes like a piece of candy he had been craving.

"Ryan! " She yelled, giving him an unbelievable look.

He turned to look at her, furrowing his brows slightly. He did not know how he got lost looking at Rose. It was just that she looked different than her usual self.

She stood out in the crowd, chuckling slightly with the white polished finger nail, which matched the color of the stunning black body-con dress she had on, which had a v-neckline, ruched detailing, spaghetti straps, and a backless design. The dress accentuated her 20-C breast size, voluptuous hips, and round buttocks, giving her back a seductive and alluring appearance.

All in all, she looked absolutely ravishing.

Selena cleared her throat, raising her eyebrows at him.

"You are unbelievable, Ryan." She whispered and yelled for only the two of them to hear.

"You say you hate her, and boom, she suddenly comes back from the dead, and you are drooling over her." She whispered, glaring at him.

No, I am not. Would you come down? We need to figure out how she's her." He said it back to her arrogantly.

Honestly, he thought he could love Selena, but after these few months with her, he came to know she was too ambitious for his liking.

She was a lady who could do anything to get whatever her heart desired.

Selena glared at the lady, raining curse words inside her head towards her. Just like before, she was back again, claiming everything she liked.

She still couldn't believe she was Alfonso's bride; she was trying to wrap her head around what exactly made Alfonso fall for this woman.

After a short greeting, Rose nodded for the last time at Anna, indicating she was about to take her leave before walking out of the party hall.

"We need to get to the bottom of this fast, Selena; she can't spread a word about what we did; if not, we will both be ruined." He whispered and yelled at her.

Selena looked at him before turning her gaze back at the door the woman exited, nodding her head slowly in agreement.

Rose entered her house, looking around and slightly breathing in the fresh aroma of her sir.

Her gaze swept around the mansion's living room with a smile on her face. Oh, how she missed home.

She walked up the stairs, chuckling as she remembered the look her gatemen gave her while she drove into the compound. It was nice to see that everyone working with her was still okay.

She twisted the door knob to her bedroom before pushing the door open and stepping inside. Her feet froze as she looked around her bedroom, anger rising within her.

She thought, How dare they? as she looked around her now-colored purple and white apartment and the heap of clothes placed at the foot of the bed.

How dare they enter her father's house and change anything there? She thought, her hands coiling into a fist.

She was shaking out of anger.

Her phone rang, tearing her gaze away from the mess in her room. She looked down at her cell phone, raising her eyebrows as she saw it was the gate line.

Well, I'm glad they still have her number, she thought.

Swiping the screen, she placed the device on her ear.

Madam, Ms. Selena, and Mr. Ryan are here to see you." They spoke into the device.

She coiled her fist again.

Deciding it was time to confront her ex-fiancé and former best friend, Ryab and Selena, and show them that their betrayal had not destroyed her.

With her heart pounding, Rose told the security guards about an arranged meeting with them at a secluded café in the heart of the city before cutting off her phone.

--------------------------------

As she walked in, she could feel their eyes on her, their surprise evident, dancing around their eyeballs. They had believed her to be dead, lost in the depths of their betrayal.

Taking a deep breath, Rose approached their table, her eyes locking with Ryan's own.

"Hello Ryan," she said, her voice steady and filled with a quiet determination. "Long time, no see."

Ryan's face paled, his eyes widening in disbelief. "Rose? Is it really you?" he stammered, his voice filled with a mix of shock and disbelief.

Rose turned her gaze to Selena, who sat frozen in her seat, her eyes filled with a mixture of fear and despair.

"And Selena," Rose said, her voice tinged with a hint of bitterness. "I see you both are still playing your games."

Selena's voice trembled as she spoke: "Rose, I... I didn't mean for things to turn out this way. We thought you were gone, dead, you know; we both were scared; it wasn't like we hated you or something."

Rose's eyes narrowed, her anger simmering beneath the surface. "Well, you thought wrong; as you can see, I am alive and healthy," she replied, taking her seat in front of them and placing her elbow on the table as her chin rested on her hands.
