Chapter 31: Chapter 31

She had tried not to think about what Kathleen said but it was futile, no matter how many times she shrugged off it always flashed across her mind. Suddenly she hit her forehead, grumbling with frustration. She glanced around the living room to see the maid who brought a glass of juice standing quietly beside her. Charlene lifted a puzzle brow. “What's the matter?” She didn't understand why she hadn't left.

“I thought you might need something else. Should I prepare a bathtub for your bath or you want me to assist you with something else?” The maid noticed something, however she couldn't ask her. She was only a mere maid, if it was Richard she dare not trespass. They all feared him because of his temper.

Charlene scanned her from the toes to the head then shook her head. “No, I don't need anything. You may leave.” She switched her gaze on the magazine she was holding.

“Okay, ma'am.” She said, turned around and left.

Charlene lifted her head, looking at her as she was leaving. She rolled her eyes, again she recalled Kathleen's words. “So lame. This is annoying.” She glanced at the clock on the far wall, it was quarter to eight, Richard hadn't returned to the mansion. Charlene picked her phone with the intention of calling him, after unlocking her phone she stared at her phone with reluctance. She wasn't sure it was a good idea calling him. Perhaps she mightn't conclude in her contemplation that Richard had a slight feeling for her but there was a chance he had grown fond of her. Her name became his favorite words, he couldn't utter a sentence when she was around without pronouncing in such a way she found prettier. When they made eye contact instead of looking away he would focus his gaze on her. It all changed after their last kiss, Charlene was looking forward to another kiss from him but she never got any, the only thing that changed was the phone call. He didn't take it as an offence when she called him.

She put the phone down after a long sigh, she wasn't completely sure it was a good idea to call him. Her subconscious mind was at work again, she had to force herself to conclude in her mind he was on his way. She blinked rapidly, took the phone and picked the magazine. She rose, covered her body well with the jacket of her nightwear. She headed to the staircase, she ascended the stairs leisurely. The maids she encountered on the way made way for her, as she advanced toward Miguel's room. She opened the door to check if he was sleeping as his babysitter mentioned before leaving.

As she entered she heard his gurgle. Charlene sauntered to the crib, she crouched down a little and looked steadily at him. “He's finally awake.” She smiled brightly at him, extended her hands to his face, she brushed the tip of her finger on his face. He gurgled cheerfully while extending his hands to her, gesturing to her to carry him. Charlene shook her head as if he could understand what it meant. “Nope. I'm sleepy, baby.” She covered his body with the baby comforter.

Miguel pouted his lips as he was about to cry when she refused to carry him. He was making some sounds Charlene didn't understand but she knew he wanted her to carry him in her arms. He wouldn't allow her to sleep once he was in her arms, when he was awoken it was impossible for Charlene to be asleep, he wouldn't give her a chance to doze, as he was pulling her hair he would also be pitching her until she finally opened her eyes and attended to him. On the other side Richard would be sleeping peacefully without interfering, since Miguel hadn't allowed him to carry him and he also kept his distance, he wouldn't allow his own son to reject him every time he approached him.

The sound of the door prompted her to look back, she saw Richard was already inside cladded with black suit. Richard was about to look away when she spoke. “I was planning to call you.” She said demurely.

“Dad wanted to speak with me urgently so I made a stop at the mansion on my way home.” He divulged. Dumbfounded, Charlene didn't know why he was telling her because she never asked for his whereabouts. “Is he sleeping?” He nodded his head in the direction of the crib.

She glanced at Miguel, and shook her head. “He's awake. He woke up it isn't up in an hour.” She chirped.

He began to walk toward the crib, he smiled when he saw his son looking cheerful. He hesitated with his hands, he glimpsed at her, he anticipated another rejection from Miguel, however when he extended his hands to Miguel, he also did the same. Richard was surprised, when he carried him in his arms he didn't cry or extend his hands to Charlene. “What came over you tonight, baby?” He kissed his face, tickled him a little. Miguel put his right hand on Richard's face while he was gurgling.

“I'm pretty sure he desperately wants to be out of the crib. Look at him, his eyes are on me.” She said mockingly, as she tried to get on his nerves.

He frowned. Sincerely Miguel wasn't looking at him, his focus was on her and extending his hands to Charlene. Richard hissed with a tinge of jealousy. “I hate you!” He said dryly.

She shrugged off, not taking his words personally, he could scarcely mean what he said. “It isn't my fault he chooses me.” She retorted impulsively, and later regretted ever blurting out.

He huffed surly. He stared at her for a minute while she stared back, she believed she had done the worst and she was hoping Richard would let it slide. “Oh, dear!” He rolled his eyes. He extended Miguel to her, she carried him and he turned around after a spare of two seconds glance. “You should babysit him tonight. I don't want to see you in my room.” He said angrily, and his back facing her.

“What!” She gasped shockingly.

“Enter the room and see the other side of me.”

Charlene stifled the desire to laugh, his reaction was hilarious because she was only trying to make a joke with him. He opened the door and exited the room.

Charlene pouted cutely, she looked at Miguel and giggled. “I guess he didn't find that funny. I was only joking.” She laid him down tenderly, kissed his forehead and she began to play with him.

The door opened, he entered and sauntered causally to the bedroom. He dawdled toward the nightstand, he took off his watch, put it down on the nightstand then his phones. He stood upright, headed to the bathroom while undressing.

He had a warm bath, he dawdled out of the bathroom in a white bathrobe. He was heading to the closet when he heard his phone bleeping. He slowly turned around, he went to the nightstand, picked up the phone and unlocked. There were three different messages and tons of emails.

A message from Henrietta and two messages from Javier, one was sent five hours earlier and the last message was sent just now. He clicked on to view Henrietta's. ‘LET'S MEET, WE REALLY NEED TO TALK AND IT'S ABOUT OUR SON. I'M OUTSIDE THE MANSION NOW.’ He rolled his eyes as he sat down carefully on the bed.

‘RICHY, LET'S GO TO THE CLUB TONIGHT.’

‘YO, WHAT'S UP? YOU DIDN'T COME, WHY?”

“Asshole,” He resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Replying to his message was unnecessary, he put his phone down and looked up. To his surprise Charlene was inside, she walked over and stopped on the track instantly she saw him.

He furrowed his brows, he distinctly remembered telling her not to come to the room. “Miguel is sleeping—” She said calmly.

“So?” He frowned.

She gulped. “I thought you were joking.”

“I wasn't.” He retorted grimly.

“So what's going to happen now?”

“Am I supposed to answer that question? I already warned you not to step into this room, didn't I?”

“But...”

“What?”

She flustered at him, she was completely befuddled. He kept a stern countenance and his eyes were fixed on her. “Wait a minute, I still don't understand.”

“What is it you don't understand?”

She sighed. “Okay. I'll leave.” She whimpered, turning around to leave the room despite not knowing if going to Miguel's room was a good choice or checking out other rooms.

He stood up. “Stop!” He commanded.

Promptly she stopped walking, she instantly turned around. His hair was brushed forward to one side, he ran his fingers through it while looking at her plainly. He moved toward her then stopped in front of her leaving a few spaces between them. She gulped constantly, gawking at him awkwardly as she was a bit uncomfortable. “W-what...” Stuttered, her voice failed her.

He grinned mischievously. “Don't leave yet. Since you're here I think I want something just now.”

She flustered. “Huh?” Her eyes popped up. “Wh-what do you want?” She stammered.

He extended his right hand to her face, caressed his fingers from her cheek down to her jaw then landed his eyes on her lips. She shivered, blinking multiple times as her throat constricted. “Um-huh.”

“Do I make you uncomfortable, huh?” He asked, knowingly she was. He was doing everything to her intentionally and he didn't plan to stop anytime soon, he loved to see her that way, uncomfortable and anxious.

She shook her head and nodded perplexingly. “I think I should leave.” She wanted to leave but he stopped her.

“I'm not done yet.”

“Richard, are you drunk again?” puzzled, she asked. She believed he wouldn't be doing it while he was in the right senses. Richard narrowed his eyes, he laughed. Charlene paced back away from him. “You are?” Each step she took back he always stepped closer until her back eventually reached the wall, Charlene looked at her right and left for an escape, when he figured what she intended to do he caged her in between his hands.

“Not so soon sweetheart.” He said with a mischievous grin. She gulped nervously.

Richard angled his head to one side without touching her, with a brief look, he brushed his finger on her lips to shut her up. “Richard, you're not going to do...” She was interrupted with an unexpected kiss from him. She widened her eyes in shock. Closed-mouthed, her stomach tingled, a touch from him could always arouse her.

Instead of pulling away like he would always do rather he pulled her to himself, then deepened the kiss. He curled up his arm behind her neck. Light tickle on her lips made her open her mouth so he could gain access to her mouth. Richard making out with her lips made her stomach tingled, he brushed across her lips lightly like a butterfly's wing, his move conveyed a touch of innocence tingle with a willingness to explore that enticed Charlene. He gently pressed the tip of his tongue against her lips which she welcomed instantly. Slowly and softly darted his tongue into her mouth, he rolled the tip of his tongue all the way to the tip of her tongue. He stopped all of a sudden, he was the one doing the kissing and she didn't reciprocate which made it boring. “Charlene, kiss me if you don't want me to do the worst.” His husky voice brushed against her face, she shivered.

Again he resumed the kiss, his hands were all over her body. She never reciprocated because she couldn't keep it up to the intensive kiss. Since she refused to do what he wanted, he bit her softly, a moan escaped her mouth before she could refrain herself. Richard smirked, he moved his right hand underneath her, caressed her thigh while making his hand to her pants.

“What are you doing?!” She uttered a cry of pleasure, grabbing his hand to stop him before she could lose to him. If anything would happen between them it shouldn't be now that she wasn't ready. Coming to the room was a terrible decision after he warned her. Was it a payback for what she said to him? Charlene thought. While kissing her he doffed her jacket and threw it to the floor like an illusion as she was left in a revealing white net nightwear which reached her thigh, and her nipples were pointing at him.

She was in a reverie when she felt her feet being swept off the floor, by the time she eventually regained herself she landed on the bed and bounced up and down. She looked forward to seeing a smile of mischief plastered on his face. “Wait, Richard. I'm not ready yet, I don't prepare for this.” He climbed on the bed and caged her in between his laps

“You really don't have to be prepared.” He moved his mouth to her ear and whispered. “I'm going to prepare you.”

“No!” She protested, attempting to get rid of him before it was too late. His smile was manipulative, his countenance was dangerous. He extended his hand to the nightstand, drew the drawer out a little, he grabbed novelty fuzzy cuffs, Charlene glanced at the cuffs in his hands and gasped bewilderingly. “Richard, no! Please stop.” She appealed to him in an emotional way but the pleasure Richard wanted to explore at the moment made him turn a deaf ear to her. She wiggled, it flashed across her mind that it was going to happen again just like the first time he was drunk.

“Hey, be a good girl, will you?” He handcuffed her wrists with the novelty fuzzy cuff then cuffed her to the bed. “Just five minutes, I'll be done.” He smirked.

She was nearly speechless, she was thinking if he was the same man she had been living with. The truth was she hadn't seen the real him, perhaps this was just half of it. He angled his head, kissed her softly on her lips, he drew her nightwear up revealing his white lace pant. He rubbed on it gently. “You're wet.” He said in a husky voice.

She dragged her hands but it was futile, her wrists were tightly cuffed to the bed. She looked at the man who was exploring her body, making her moan countlessly. He buried his head in between her thighs, he trailed a kiss up, he kissed her entrance while the white pants were still on her. He trailed a smooch from her entrance up to her navel before resuming kissing her lips.

She shut her eyes, relaxing her body to his touch, and she gnawed on her lower lips. “Mhm-mmm.” She moaned softly. She attempted to grab him and pulled him closer, however she couldn't. The moment he started he wasn't in the mood but the moment he set his eyes on her nakedness he was completely aroused. He was about to strip her when a call interrupted them. Charlene opened her eyes wide, Richard stopped what he was doing but his hand was still on her breast. He glanced over to check the call ID. He scoffed softly, grabbed his phone and stepped down from the bed. He rose, slid into his scuffs and looked back.

She looked at him steadily. “I'll be right back.” He leaned over and gave her a light wet kiss on her lips before walking to the closet.

Charlene sighed out loud, she looked at the fuzzy cuffs and grumbled quietly. Richard got dressed quickly, he came back to the nightstand for his phone and his car key. He didn't bother to free Charlene because he intended to continue from where he stopped when he returned.
