Chapter 15: Chapter 15
Emma went home sad that day. She tried as much as she could to get some sleep, but she couldn’t as she tossed and turned.
She gave up trying to fall asleep and sat up on the bed. When she looked at the time, it was 2:25am.
‘Oh God, what kind of mess have I gotten myself into?
I can’t back out now, if I do I’ll end up losing Raymond.’ she thought to herself, as she curled herself in a ball and cried.
“What do I do now? Mom, Dad, why did you both have to leave Ray and I alone? It’s not fair.” She sobbed.
After spending some time to cry, she decided to stop crying and wipe the tears from her face.
“I have to do it for Ray, he’s all I have left in this world and I don’t want to lose him. I have to be strong for the both of us.”
Monday morning came too quickly for Emma, because that is the day Tracy had said they would meet, so she’ll have a makeover and start her job as an impersonator.
Emma was so nervous about the whole thing. Tracy had asked Emma to give her her house address, so she would come pick her up, which she did.
Emma sat in her living room anxiously and nervously waiting for Tracy’s arrival, then she heard the honk of a car.
She peeked through the window and saw Tracy’s red Ferrari outside. She let out a heavy sigh, mustering some courage before going out to meet Tracy.
When she went outside, she got into the car and buckled her seat belt.
“Are you ready for this?” Tracy asked Emma who just shrugged.
Tracy was feeling really excited about the whole thing, because she would be gaining her freedom for a period of time.
“Oh well, let’s get this over and done with.” Tracy said, her car engine roared to life, as she turned it on.
First, they went to a salon to have Emma’s hair dyed from her black one to Tracy’s brown ones, giving her Tracy’s signature curls.
After that, they went over to the makeup section, where they gave Emma Tracy’s kind of everyday look.
Emma looked at herself in the mirror, when they were done. She couldn’t believe what she saw, as she looked so much like Tracy.
“Wow! Emma, I can’t believe this. It looks like I’m staring at myself in the mirror.” Tracy excitedly exclaimed.
Emma gave her a polite smile.
“Come on now, we have to go get you some clothes. We have to be quick about it, so you can get home before Richard does.” Tracy said, as she gestured for Emma to be on her feet, so they’d leave.
They headed to a boutique, where they both did some shopping.
Tracy picked out the kind of clothes she normally wore for Emma and asked her to go change into one of the dress she had picked out for her.
They walked out of the boutique and headed for Tracy’s car, with shopping bags in their hands.
“This is where I leave you. You have the address with you, right?” Tracy began
“Yes, I do.” Emma replied
“Good. So, you run along now 'Tracy' before Richard gets home first.” Tracy teasingly said smiling to Emma, making sure to stress her name.
Emma returned Tracy’s smile with a forced one and took the shopping bags from her. She opened the car door and placed the bags on the passengers seat before going over to the other side of the car and got in the driver’s seat.
She was about to switch on the engine of the car when Tracy lowered herself to the window of the car.
“Don’t you dare think of screwing this up for me or you.” She threatened.
Emma quickly nodded.
“Good. And uh.. good luck.” She said to Emma before withdrawing herself from the car to allow Emma start the engine.
Tracy stood at the same spot, staring at the moving car, till she could no longer see it in view.
She then took out her phone and dialed a number.
“Hey babe, come pick me up at Christy’s boutique.” She said and then hung up.
Emma was a nervous wreck as she drove. She was having lots of thoughts and negative vibes about the whole thing.
“Oh God, please help me do this without getting caught.” She murmured to herself as she let out a sigh for the nth time.
