I just woke up from a quick nap and I was glued to where I was standing when I saw who was sitting in our living area when I went out of my room. I was about to get water from the kitchen when I caught a glimpse of him. I didn't expect him to visit today or any other day there is.

"What are you doing here, Dad? I wasn't informed that you were visiting today." I said.

"I've missed you so I decided to visit. I asked Wade if I can visit today and he said yes. Besides, it's a Sunday which means it's a day for the family." He said.

"Where is Wade, by the way?" I asked him. How could he not tell me about this sudden visit? Did he forgot to tell me or did he do it on purpose?

"He said he just has to go and met someone for a while. He said he'll be back in just a few minutes." He said.

"Is that so? Then, why are you still here?" I said.

"I came here for you." He said straight forward.

"I wasn't informed that you now do things for my sake. Did you just hit your head or something?" I said.

"Can you stop being so sarcastic? I came here in peace. I have no other intention." He said.

"Alright, did you eat already?" I asked him.

"Oh, don't bother I just had lunch." He said.

"Do you need anything else? Juice, maybe?" I said.

"Thanks but no thanks." He said.

"Then what else can I do for you, Dad?"

"I heard about what you did the other night." He said.

"Of course you did. I am not surprised." I said.

"Why did you do it?" He said in a hard voice.

"Can we not talk about it? It's all in the past now." I said.

"No! I want to know why you risked your life just to go out to a club that night." He said.

"Why do you care?" I said.

"Camierre, please do not talk to me like that. I am still your father!" He said.

"Oh dad, that's bullshit! You were the one who put me in this situation in the first place!" I said.

"Aren't we over this?" He said.

"We aren't," I said. "What you did was hard to forgive. You were the reason why my life is what it is right now. You made that man believe that I am going to marry him when in fact I had no intention of doing that. That is why he is after me now."

"I don't care about how much you hate me right now. I only care about your safety and what's best for you. Do not go out unguarded again like that. Do what Wade tells you. He knows that that man is still going after you and he's confident because he can bend the laws." He said.

"I don't need anyone to tell me what to do, okay? I can do things on my own. I don't need to listen to anyone especially you." I said. "I had enough of you controlling my life already. I am not letting you do that to me again."

"It's for your safety. It isn't for me so just do as we say." He said.

"I promise you, once that man is in prison, I would literally do whatever the hell I want to do in my life." I said.

"What do you mean by that?" He said.

"Aren't you happy being with Wade?" He asked. Yeah, he still didn't know that I married Wade just to get rid of that old man. Or so I thought because even after our marriage, he is still going after me according to Wade's investigation.

"I am. It's just that I don't wanna live my whole life hiding from someone who isn't worth all this attention. I wanna live freely and not like a prisoner." I said.

"Don't worry, I'm sure Wade and his men are doing everything they can to protect you and find a way to get rid of him." He said.

"I hope so." Because once this is over, I am gonna go and figure things out on my own.

The main door opened and Wade entered.

"Hey," He said.

"Hey, can we talk?" I told him.

"Of course." He said.

I made my way towards the dining and he followed me. I faced him and he was curious about what this is all about.

"Why did you let him come here today?" I said.

"Why? He said he missed you and he wanted to see you. He's your father, what's wrong with that?" He explained.

"Why didn't you tell me? You could've at the very least give me a heads up, right?" I said. "You know how I felt for him and what he did. You know that we aren't on our best terms right now, right?"

"I know that is why I accepted him here. Don't you think it's time for you to settle whatever it is that has been going on with you two? It's been more than a month." He said.

"Wade, it is not for you to decide, okay? You weren't the one who went through all the hardships because of the wrong decisions that he made. What I feel about him is not for you to decide!" I said.

"I'm sorry if you felt like I was minding your own business. I just wanted to help and it is the only way I know how." He said.

"You aren't helping, can't you see? What happened between us can't be fixed in just a short period. He needs to earn my trust first before I could forgive him and it's not for any of you to decide when." I said.

"Alright, I get it, I am sorry if I went behind your back on this one. I promise you, it won't happen ever again." He said.

"That's good to hear, at least give me this one to decide on," I said and left him there.

I knew I was harsh to him but it was his fault anyway. He keeps on pushing me to my limits and that won't do him any good.
