Chapter 97: Chapter 97

Mia and her mom sat in silence, still trying to process what had just happened. How did Hendrix possess such powers? Why was he coming after her? How did the sorcerer know about the attack? Mia's mind was filled with so many questions, which she didn't have answers to. On the other hand, her mom couldn't help but think about how they got to this phase of fighting. What happened? Who birthed this demon that wanted to destroy them?

The sorcerer put an end to their thoughts and brought them back to reality immediately he called out to Mia.

Mia looked shocked from where she was sitting to see the sorcerer already close to her outstretching his hand.

"I know you're shocked about what just happened, but now it's not the best time to allow fear to possess your mind. Thinking about everything that happened not long ago will build fear in your heart, and your fear, my dear, can't save your husband," the sorcerer said to Mia.

"Come with me into this circle and say the incantation you hear from me, hold my hands and that of your mother tightly, don't let go even if it hurts you badly," the sorcerer instructed.

Mia nodded but was confused as to why they were in a circle.

"What are we doing this for if I may ask?" Mia couldn't help but ask curiously.

"We want to locate Alex and teleport to him," the sorcerer explained.

"Then why am I needed? Why do I need to hold your hands?" Mia asked.

"You're the only legal access to Alex now. So, we're locating Alex. We need someone connected to him legally, that's why you're needed, Mia," the sorcerer explained.

As the moon cast an ethereal glow over the forest, the tension hung heavy in the air. Alex was located, and the sorcerer teleported them to a spot near Alex's hiding place. With their hearts pounding and adrenaline coursing through their veins, they approached cautiously, knowing that one wrong move could cost them their lives.

They materialized behind a towering oak tree, its ancient branches stretching towards the heavens. The tree seemed to stand as a guardian, providing a shield for them as they prepared to confront Alex and the merciless demon.

Alex, with his keen senses, felt a subtle shift in the energy around him. His instincts told him that danger was near, and he wasted no time in alerting his men. "Kill anything you can find!" he barked, his voice echoing through the darkness. His loyal soldiers scattered, their weapons drawn, searching for the intruders who dared to challenge their leader.

But unknown to Alex, the sorcerer had cast a powerful spell, veiling their presence and shielding them from view. They remained hidden, their breath held, as the soldiers combed the area, unable to perceive their enemies' whereabouts. The sorcerer's magic cloaked them in an invisible barrier, concealing their intentions and actions.

It was then that Alex, his senses honing the demon vexed because someone is bold enough to challenge him, noticed a peculiar disturbance in the air. His eyes narrowed, scanning the vicinity for any signs of movement. With each passing second, his frustration grew, his fury boiling beneath the surface.

Driven by his determination to annihilate any threat, Alex ventured closer to the oak tree. His dark eyes searched the shadows, willing the enemy to reveal themselves. As he moved nearer, a sudden surge of power coursed through him, momentarily destabilizing the sorcerer's enchantment.

Sensing the weakening of his spell, the sorcerer knew that their time was running out. He whispered a quick incantation, pouring his energy into reinforcing the barrier. But it was Alex, fueled by rage and an insatiable hunger for dominance, who would unwittingly tear down the invisible wall that concealed his enemies.

With a primal roar, Alex lunged at the oak tree, his massive frame colliding with its ancient trunk. The impact reverberated through the forest, startling Mia and Stella and causing the sorcerer's spell to falter. The barrier shattered like glass, fragments of energy dissipating into the night.

In that fleeting moment, they emerged from their hiding place, the sorcerer's eyes blazing with renewed vigor, stepped forward, channeling his magic to confront the demon within Alex who had wreaked havoc for far too long.

Locked in a fierce battle, sparks of power clashed as Alex fought to retain his iron grip on the land, while the sorcerer fought to save all wolf packs from the demon's oppressive rule and destroy his plans. Each swing of a sword, each burst of magic, was a testament to the indomitable spirit that burned within them.

As the moon reached its zenith, the clash of wills intensified, and the forest bore witness to an epic struggle between good and evil. The fate of countless lives hung in the balance, teetering on the edge of victory or despair.
