Chapter 16: Chapter 16

Alpha Jayden

"Stella. Calm down and let me think, Please!" Alpha Jayden yelled at his frantic wife.

She had been screaming at Mia's maid all day and even threatened to cut her head off.

The maid was stubborn, that much could be told as she stayed quietly in a corner.

"Don't tell me that. Our daughter is out there, somewhere we have absolutely no idea of and you tell me to calm down?"  Stella replied, she was no longer yelling, thankfully, but she still had a stance of a murderer.

"All I'm saying is the more you scare the girl, the more she says nothing." He tried to reason with his wife.

They stood in the dungeon where the maid had been thrown when Mia was discovered to be missing.

The maid was coiled up in a corner, crying terribly with fear. The whole situation quickly turned chaotic.

"How can you be so calm, Is that how much you care for our child?" Stella glared at Alpha Jayden.

"Enough!" Alpha Jayden roared in sheer anger. "That's" enough. You have absolutely no idea how much I love my daughter. And because I don't go all haywire and throw every form of reasoning out the window just like you do, doesn't mean I don't care. So stop right there and let me think!"

That got Stella shut. She had never seen him so pissed talk more of raising his voice at her as he just did. She even feared for a second there that he'd hit her if she continued talking.

His face was red and fat veins were visible on his forehead. He just wanted to think of what could be done to make this rebellious maid talk without torture. She had grown up here in the palace with his daughter and he saw her as one as well.

"I don't want to torture you, Isabelle but you're asking for it." He threatened; his voice calm and they all knew he wasn't kidding. Even the guards around felt chills in their bones.

"I'll count to three for you to start talking and if you don't, I swear to the goddess, I'll torture you to death. Slowly and painfully," He said through gritted teeth and Isabelle began to shiver in fear.

"Alpha, please. I-I-" She attempted to talk but words seemed to have fled from her.

"Talk you fool!" Stella screamed at her, frightening her more.

"Stella!" Alpha Jayden was beyond pissed at her.

"Get her out of here," He said to two of the guards standing by.

"What? you can't do that, Jay!"

She yelled as two guards approached her carefully.

"Don't you dare," she said angrily to them and they halted, they couldn't go against their Luna but they couldn't go against their Alpha either. They looked at one another unsure of what to do next.

"This is my daughter's life we are talking about here. You can't possibly expect me to be mute and watch this maggot in my daughter's clothing play a fool and keep us quiet while my baby is out on her own this night." Stella snarled, throwing hateful glares at Isabelle.

Alpha Jayden had however made up his mind.

"Get her out of my sight now!"  He commanded the guards in his Alpha voice.

After that, they grabbed Luna Stella and dragged her out. Although Alpha Jayden hated to do it, he knew they'd get nowhere with her around.

He shut his eyes tightly for a while before opening them and staring right at Isabelle.

"Start talking," he commanded in his Alpha voice, compelling her to say the truth which she started spilling out like a robot.

•••••••••••

"Ahhhhh!"

The Luna screamed like a crazy person turning things over and breaking all breakables in her room.

"How dare he do that to me?!"

She exclaimed, breaking down for a while, before picking up a very expensive vase and throwing it against the wall. It shattered into unamendable pieces.

She was truly bipolar, her maids were certain of it. They busied around picking up things as she threw them down.

She was about to smash her mirror when Perz came bursting into the room to tell her that the princess's whereabouts had been discovered. She pushed him out of her way, making the older man miss his footing and falling face down to the floor. The maids clasped their mouths in pity and shock at what just happened.

"Where's she?" She asked once she stormed into Alpha Jayden's study.

Alpha Jayden looked away from his study window slowly, reluctant to take his eyes off the blossoming flowers.

"Crystal Moon Pack," He simply stated, gauging his wife's reaction.

None came through. She seemed lost and Jayden seized the opportunity and excused himself from his study. He retired to one of the guest rooms after that.

He had heard of the damage going on in his room, while in his study and didn't want to see any of it for himself.

He was tired, both emotionally and physically. He was drained and disturbed. He needed to sleep and he needed to, soon enough.

His thoughts were predominantly on Mia.

He had tried to mind-link her severally but she had blocked him out completely.

How she had managed to achieve that, he couldn't tell as it was practically impossible. Maybe she was finally uncovering her gifts. He feared she was.

How was she faring?

He let out a sigh of exasperation and slumped on the king-sized bed.

He had seen Alpha Alexander smile at Elder Kaleb the other day and could tell that he had some emotions in him. Maybe he'd spared his daughter, he hoped he had.

In Diamond Shadow Pack, any intruder would be killed on the spot. He hoped it was different in the Crystal Moon Pack.

It was too late to venture out to get to Crystal Moon Pack as it would be seen as an ambush and they'd most likely start a war.

So, they would wait till the next day before they ventured to the Crystal Moon Pack.

He couldn't feel anything from Stella's end at first, but when he tried harder, he was able to feel her pain and worry. Her heart was seriously troubled and for the first time in over ten years, he opened the mate bond and let his emotions seep into her as well.

This would help lessen the burden on both their shoulders. He just wanted her to feel better.

Stella sat in her room confused at first with all the emotions seeping into her until she realized what it was, it was the mate bond.

He had opened it.

She couldn't help the tears that ran down her face in torrents when she discovered just how much he was hurting, blocking himself from the mate bond. And in that moment, all the hate and resentment she had for him all those years after he blocked her out washed away.
