Chapter 104: Chapter 104

Heartman paced back and forth in the dimly lit lobby of the dilapidated building, his mind consumed by thoughts of his missing Luna. They had searched everywhere but still couldn't find her anywhere close.

He had ordered most of his warriors to conduct a thorough search of every room, hoping against hope that they would find some trace of her, a clue to her whereabouts. But the empty rooms offered no solace, and the mystery deepened.

As Heartman waited anxiously, his heart heavy with worry, the door to one of the rooms swung open, and his guards entered, their expressions grave. They stood before him, heads bowed, knowing that their failure to locate Luna would disappoint their leader. Heartman regarded them sternly, his piercing gaze fixed upon them.

"What news do you bring?" Heartman asked, his voice betraying a hint of frustration.

One of the warriors stepped forward and cleared his throat. "We have searched every room in the house, sir," he began, his voice laced with regret. "But we couldn't find any sign of our former Luna. It's as if she vanished into thin air or they had another exit."

Heartman clenched his fists, feeling a surge of anger mixed with fear. Luna was not just any Luna; she was the love of his life, his soulmate. Losing her would be a devastating blow for him personally. He couldn't bear the thought of her being in danger or worse, taken against her will.

"Did you find anything that could provide a clue, any indication of what might have happened?" Heartman asked, trying to keep his voice steady.

"We kept watchers outside; did they find anything? Did they see anyone leave the house?" Heartman asked different questions.

The second warrior, a younger wolf, stepped forward, his eyes filled with determination. "We found signs of a struggle in one of the rooms, sir," he reported. "Furniture was overturned, and there were scuff marks on the floor. It appears there was a struggle, but it's difficult to determine who or what was involved or if it was of recent determining the condition of the building."

Heartman's brows furrowed as he pondered the information. A struggle meant there was a chance Nathalie had put up a fight, but without further evidence, they were left with more questions than answers. He couldn't shake off the nagging feeling that there was something they were missing, some crucial detail that would shed light on the situation.

According to his calculations and what the warriors reported, Nathalie was severely injured the last time. How possible is it for her to fight?

"Bring me the captives," Heartman commanded, his voice firm. "Perhaps they know where she is and won't say anything, making us wander in this miserable dilapidated building."

Both warriors exchanged glances before nodding in unison. They turned and left the room, swiftly returning with two bound figures. The captives, both wolves in human form, were rough-looking individuals with hardened expressions. Heartman's keen senses detected a hint of fear beneath their hardened exterior.

Heartman approached the prisoners, his eyes drilling into theirs. "You know something about Luna Nath's disappearance," he stated, his voice low and dangerous. "I demand answers. Tell me everything you know."

The guards, well aware of Heartman's formidable reputation, exchanged uneasy glances before one of them finally spoke, his voice trembling slightly. "We were only following orders," he confessed. "We were told to apprehend and keep her for some time by our leader. We don't know why or what they wanted with her."

Heartman's jaw tightened. The pieces of the puzzle were beginning to fall into place, but he needed more information. He realized that these captives weren't mere pawns in the game; they knew something but didn't want to disclose it. If he wanted to get information from them, he had to dig deeper.

"Now where is she?" Heartman asked them.

They looked at each other and said nothing. "Take them to the other room, tie them together," Heartman ordered, his voice cold and resolute.
