Chapter 102: Chapter 102
Immediately, when Caine reached the clearing, he came to an abrupt stop, and everyone followed suit. He went forward toward Heartman to inform him they had reached the place.
Heartman assigned every warrior to a specific place to search, and they all went their way.
As the warriors diligently searched through the bushes, Caine guided them to the last place they had found her. With a determined expression on his face, he issued orders for everyone to thoroughly comb through the area. Every nook and cranny was inspected in hopes of finding a trace of her presence.
They saw nothing close that would lead to her, and Heartman couldn't take it anymore. Like Caine, who saw his discomfort, he moved towards Heartman.
"Alpha, there's nothing around here that would lead to her. Do you think we should go deeper into the forest or just wait until we can catch her smell again?" Caine said.
"I don't really know what to do anymore. I'm just so confused right now; nothing seems to be working. Why can't we just see anything that would lead us to her and the people that adopted her? Should we go back to the dilapidated building they kept us before?" Heartman complained to Caine.
"I feel that's the best option, sir. Should I send the information to the other warriors?" Caine asked.
"Yes, yes, send it to them. Tell them we're heading north," Heartman instructed.
"Gather up, everyone. We're heading north now. Please move quickly so we won't miss them," Caine instructed all the members.
All warriors moved swiftly, changing direction. Heartman raised chants of war, and as everyone moved, they sang along with him.
He took the lead and headed towards the dilapidated building he was once locked in. Now, he regretted leaving Nathalie behind the day he escaped the adopters' hands.
As they moved, heading north, they scoured the surroundings. They got to the building, checked, but didn't find any significant thing to pinpoint their location.
Moving to the back of the building, one of the warriors placed as a watch when they were inside raised an alarm.
"Come this way, everyone. There's a road leading to another direction. It's still fresh, meaning they went through it not too long ago," he shouted and drew the attention of other warriors who ran towards him.
They searched through the surrounding, and their efforts led them to an abandoned house nearby. A sense of intrigue and caution filled the air as they noticed a few men loitering outside the dilapidated structure. Caine's instincts kicked in, and he assessed the situation, carefully observing the men and their behavior.
Realizing that this could be a crucial lead in their quest to find her, Caine instructed his warriors to approach the abandoned house cautiously. They formed a strategic plan, discussing their movements and ensuring they were prepared for any possible confrontation.
With unity and precision, the warriors advanced towards the house, their senses heightened, ready to confront whatever awaited them inside. Heartman's determination never wavered as he led his team, prepared to face any challenge head-on and rescue her from whatever predicament she might be in.
Caine cautiously approached the abandoned house, followed closely by four of his comrades. They observed the few men loitering outside, trying to discern their intentions. With a series of hand signals and nods, he ran back to give Heartman a report about how many men were outside the building and how many watchers they have surrounding the building.
Without giving a count of the persons inside because he couldn't see them clearly, and they seemed much inside, he left the count of men inside the building and just gave a total of men around the building.
Heartman asked everyone to approach the building slowly and carefully. As they closed in on the unsuspecting men, the warriors remained quiet and moved swiftly, using their training to minimize any noise or disturbance. They aimed to take control of the situation without alerting any potential threats inside the house.
