Chapter 86: Chapter 86
When she left Gary's place, she went back home to prepare fully. She dressed very elegantly and business minded. She was, after all, the CEO of Graves Pharmaceuticals. Her father was the president. It was the plan. That way, she could fully involve herself in all the activities of the company as the head. Her father would be the brain behind the entire work of the company. She is the one who would be seen everywhere, representing the company while her father would remain as the chairman of the company.
After dressing, she took a cab to her father's company. Getting in, she found out that some workers had resumed. They still needed more workers to fill in the spaces to ensure the company ran very smoothly. She made a mental note to work on the vacancies for the positions needed.
After setting up her new office, she was just about to sit and begin work when her door went open and closed. She turned around to see who dared to just get in like that. It was her father. Her wary expression turned into a calming smile.
"Dad." She greeted him. "How are you?"
"I'm fine, my princess. How are the kids? Have they gone to school? How did the exams go?"
"Slow down dad." Jessica chuckled. "You didn't even ask me. You're just going on and on about your grandchildren."
"Oh alright, princess. Yesterday it was Abby jealous that I called you princess, now it's you jealous that I didn't ask you." Mr. Graves complained lightly. "How is my favorite princess doing today?"
"I'm fine dad. The kids, they're well too! And they've gotten admitted into the school already. They passed."
"Scores?" Mr. Graves asked. Although Jessica had been smart, she wasn't that smart to share her IQ in two.
"Gabby with a hundred and Abby with a ninety-eight."
Mr. Graves whistled slowly. "That's just beautiful. Must be the Turner genes."
"Dad!" Jessica scolded. "What do you mean by that statement?!"
"Nothing, my princess. Eh, I see you have prepared your office. You are ready to handle the business then?","Yeah." Jessica answered. "About that, father."
"What's it?" Mr. Graves asked, sitting on the chair opposite her.
"I had this crazy idea… Why don't we venture into different aspects of the business? Let's expand the business. Not only pharmaceuticals. We can now have the Graves' Empire."
Mr. Graves inhaled deeply and then exhaled as well. "Erm, princess. Venturing into this business isn't an easy thing. You know we're going to need to perform an elaborate search, and plan things well and these things take time. Trust me."
"Oh, dad. I've done all of that. I have a list of large firms who could support us." She countered.
Mr. Graves smirked. "Like who and who? The Turners are literally the kings here. If we do not have this kind of support, I doubt others will want to support us."
Jessica sighed. "Dad. Listen to this. There are some firms who can support us whether we are in cohorts with the Turners or not. Take, for instance, Prattville Group of Companies."
Mr. Graves kept mute. The PGC would actually be very helpful to them. Jessica must have truly planned things out.
"But what if PGC refuses to help us out?" He asked. "What then do we do?"
"We can also go for Darren Corp, Flaile Construction Co. So many more dad." She said, getting the list she had compiled. "Here, take a look."
Mr. Graves took the list from her and began to look into it. Surely there were companies that were going to accept helping a potentially capable company.
He smiled. " Ah, my daughter. You're so smart! These companies are definitely going to do well."
"Heh. Thanks."
"Well, what do you suggest we venture into?" He asked.
Jessica hummed lowly. "I thought of joining a construction company. It would help a lot since buildings are in progress so much these days. It would help raise the awareness we require to push other aspects of the company forward."
Mr. Graves nodded. "That's brilliant! Very brilliant. I will inform my friend, we can start making plans of where to start this one."
Jessica nodded. "In the meantime, I would still do more research about other companies that could also do well with us. And, some other investors we can poach."
"Good good. I never knew you knew so much about business."
"C'mon dad. Just because I didn't familiarize myself back then doesn't mean I'm totally clueless about this whole thing. As a matter of fact, I will still create a vacancy proposal for this branch of the company. Then, we can begin to arrange for the others as we expand." She explained. As she spoke, she typed her ideas down on her laptop, so that she wouldn't forget at all. Mr. Graves nodded as she spoke.
"Alright, my dear. I guess the twins did get their IQ from you after all! I'm so proud of you, my princess." He patted her head. Jessica smiled shyly from the affection she was getting from her father.
"Also dad, perhaps we can also begin to apply for different contracts. It will also help. Uh, I will prepare the contract ideas and will do the poaching." She said, Mr. Graves nodded. He got a call and left.
Jessica used the time to do her research on the ideas she had given. As she made her research, she wrote her discoveries down. She also made new points. Jessica was so busy with work she didn't know that time was passing very quickly. But she was also engrossed in her work. She would occasionally pause to crack her neck and fingers, then she would resume her work.
