After twenty minutes of driving, Jessica and Edwin arrived at Jessica's apartment. Edwin stopped the car and they went to the entrance together.

Jessica entered the code and they both entered inside together. She asked to guide Edwin to the living room and he took his seat, looking around the apartment.

" I will be right back," Jessica said, as she walked toward the stairs, adjusting her shirt on her.

Getting into her room, Jessica looks for jeans, trousers, and a white top. She put them on, checking herself out in the small mirror in the center of her room. She applied a small lip gloss and walked out of the room.

" We can start going," Jessica said, as she walked down the stairs with a smile on her face.

" Alright," Edwin said, as he stood up to walk out of the apartment, rubbing his hands together with hers.

The two entered the car and they drove to the hospital. Seeing the total silence in the car, Jessica checked one of her favorite playlists on her phone and she played the song.

After twenty minutes, they arrived at the hospital, and Edwin guided her to the doctor's office. The doctor was happy to see Jessica feeling better.

" Miss, how are you feeling today?" The doctor asked with a smile on his face.

" I am just feeling dizzy once in a while, " Jessica said, looking at the doctor's face.

" The result of the blood analysis is out, and we got the substance used on you. I will prescribe some drugs for you, you should take enough rest for this week," The doctor explained.

" Hmm, okay sir," Jessica said in a calm tone.

The doctor picked a pen and paper to write the drug description, and after writing it, he handed them to Jessica. She was very grateful and thanked the doctor.

Edwin wanted to go and get the drugs but Jessica insisted on going. She turned around and walked to the pharmacy to get the drugs.

Jessica was getting the drugs when Edwin received a call from the station, saying they needed their attention and how to go forward with James.

After he finished receiving the call, Edwin walked to Jessica's side and waited for her to get the drug, and they both walked to the car together.

" We are asked to come to the police station. Do you think we should go now? I am thinking you should rest then we can go later," Edwin said, looking into Jessica's eyes.

" We can go now, I will rest when I get home, " Jessica with darting eyes.

" Alright," Edwin said as they drove to the police station.

They arrived at the police station and the two walked inside. The police welcomed them and they took Jessica's statement. After she finished writing the statement, Edwin requested to see James and the police brought him out.

Seeing the image standing before him, Jessica became very furious as she was trying her best to control the anger exploding through her.

Unable to hold himself, she lunged onto James and gave him two different slaps before Edwin stopped her. She struggled her body and tears started flowing in her eyes continuously.

" Baby, don't waste your energy on his animal," Edwin said as he trapped Jessica by the waist, holding her to himself.

" I trusted him. I trusted them and they planned to hurt me. They fucking drugged me, Edwin," Jessica shouted as she launch on James again, dragging him by his shirt.

Due to the stress and strength she used just now on James, she became weak and lost consciousness.

Edwin rushed to her side and caught her before she fell to the ground. He glanced at James as he carried Jessica in his arms. Then he turned to instruct the policemen.

"Deal with him…"

Edwin didn't say anything more as he turned around to leave. Walking fast to the car, he lay her down and messaging her hand, calling her name softly.

" Jessica, Jessica, Babe, "

Picking up his phone, Edwin started checking through the phone contact to call the doctor. But Jessica's soft voice called his name before he could dial the number.

"Edwin, " Jessica called as she fixed her eyes on worried Edwin who was pressing his phone profusely.

" Babe, are you okay? Should we go to the hospital? " Edwin said with a worried face, with narrow eyes.

" I am fine. I am sorry I made you worry," Jessica apologized.

" It's okay, let's go home, you need to rest," Edwin said as he closed the door gently. He entered the car and he headed to his mansion.

The two got home after a few minutes of driving. Edwin opened the car and went out to another side of the car. Before Jessica could open the car, he opened it and carried her gently.

" You know I can walk. There is nothing wrong with my legs, and I think I should go to my apartment, I can take care of myself,'' Jessica said as she looked away from Edwin.

"Do I ask for your opinion? I will take care of you, I didn't complain. Did I?" Edwin said as he walked inside the mansion with a stern face.

One of the reasons why he didn't want Jessica to follow her to the police station was the same thing that happened.

He knew her emotion would get into her head, but he wasn't surprised by Jessica's reaction because he once experienced her dealing with someone. He remembered how she treated the girl that tried slapping her when she refused to let her in.

" She's one hell of a fighter! " Edwin said in his head with a smile on his face.

He entered the mansion and took her to the guest room and he laid her on the bed gently.

Looking at her as she tries to adjust her body, Edwin bent down to remove her shoe and guide her onto the bed to a sitting position.

" How are you feeling? Do you think we don't need to call the doctor? Edwin said with a worried tone, looking at her.

" I will be fine, can you get me water to take the drugs? Then I can read before going to work tomorrow," Jessica explained.

" What work? You are taking a week off. I have messaged the HR department to get someone who can work till I am satisfied you are okay completely," Edwin said, making eye contact with her.

" You can't do that, why will you get another secretary?"Jessica asked with a sour expression.

" You don't need to get jealous. I told them I need a guy," He chuckled.

" Let me go get you the water," he said as he shook Jessica on her forehead before walking outside the room.

After a few minutes, Edwin came back with a glass of water. Jessica collected the glass and took her drugs as prescribed.

Jessica rested for a little before lying down on the bed and she slept off with Edwin by her side.
