Chapter 27: Chapter 27

After 2 hours of flight, they were already in their location. Jessica stood up and picked up her bag while she exited the plane. A car was already waiting for them. They both entered the car and the driver drove them to the hotel.

Looking at different buildings and how clumsy the road was, Jessica kept looking left and right admiring the busy city.

" Is this your first time in New York?" Edwin asked, fixing his gaze on Jessica.

" Yes, this is my first time," Jessica responded. She wasn't ready to tell him she had been here with her parents on vacation. She doesn't want the fact that she was once the daughter of a billionaire to be known to others and especially, not Edwin Turner.

" I see…" Edwin trailed off.

But why does it look like it wasn't the first time? Although there was this kind of curiosity in her eyes, it was that of long familiarity. More like when you left a place for a while only to come back to some changes.

Edwin decided not to probe her further. He chided himself for thinking that a country bumpkin like her could have traveled out of the States.

After twenty minutes of driving, the driver arrived in front of a big hotel, and the two came down from the car. They picked up their bags and made their way to the entrance.

" Ring ring ring"

Edwin brought out his phone to see who was calling him, after seeing the caller, he quickly excused himself.

" You can check us in," Edwin said, raising his phone to let Jessica know he needed to pick up his call.

" Okay sir," Jessica responded.

Jessica walked to the receptionist and patiently waited for her turn. After seeing people walking away, she moved to a receptionist with a smile on her face.

" Hi, Good afternoon," Jessica greeted.

" Hello ma'am, Good afternoon, and welcome to our hotel," The receptionist replied with a smile on her face.

" I would like to check in. The names are Edwin Turner and Jessica Graves," Jessica responded.

" On it," The receptionist answered, professionally.

She quickly checked her computer and after a few minutes, she brought out a card.

" Here ma'am," The receptionist said, smiling at her.

" And the second card_"

" Don't worry, we will have to share a suite" Edwin's voice answers from the back.

Jessica thought she heard wrong. How could he think she would share a room with him? He must be mistaken.

"But sir_"

"The hotel is filled up because there is an event being held this weekend," Edwin explained, ignoring her widened eyes.

Edwin collected the card from her as he walked toward the lift. Having no choice at this stage, Jessica ran towards him and they both entered together.

Edwin inserted the card into the suite and they both walked in while Jessica dragged her suitcase with her.

" I will take that room," Edwin said, pointing in a particular direction.

" Okay, sir," Jessica responded, walking to the other room.

After getting to the room, Jessica sat down on the bed, looking frustrated. Why on earth will there be only one room left? Couldn't he have booked another room?

"Hmm, maybe this was the only hotel close to his business meeting," Jessica said, coming to terms with the fact that she was going to stay here all weekend.

Fortunately, it was a suite.

She looked around and was happy with the interior of the room. It was indeed an exquisite hotel. She arranged her clothes in the wardrobe and jumped on the bed immediately.

Bringing out her phone, she dialed her father's number to let him know they had arrived.

"Dad, we just arrived here… yes, I am comfortable in my own room… I will eat as soon as I finish packing and freshening up… Alright, I will call you later. Love you, dad"

Looking around the room, she remembered her old room, how her family had been living before her father was framed for dealing drugs.

" Can I still go back to my former self? Will I be able to clear my father's name?" Jessica thought to herself.

Still thinking of how things changed for her from a spoiled princess to working in a coffee shop and now being a secretary to one of the most prestigious companies in the States, she was still grateful to God.

Her phone vibration brought her back to the present. Seeing her boss calling, she picked up the call immediately.

" Hello, sir," Jessica answered, wondering why her boss would be needing her right now.

" Please come to my room," Edwin responded, curtly.

There was no emergency in his voice. Maybe he needed her to do something concerning office issues, Jessica thought.

" Okay…" Jessica answered, convinced he was calling her for office duties.

Dropping the call, Jessica quickly gets up from the bed. Rubbing her hand together, she walked out of her room to Edwin's door.

" Knock knock knock"

" You can come in," Edwin responded.

Entering the room, Edwin's eyes were fixed on the laptop screen while clicking on the mouse. He was busy tapping on the laptop but looked a little frustrated.

Jessica wondered what made him look so worked up. She sighed as she walked to his side, waiting for him to talk. She kept waiting until he stopped and pointed at the screen.

"Check this, what do you think?" He asked, feeling a little satisfied. It looks like he solved the issue.

Jessica bends down to check the laptop screen. Unknown to her, Edwin's eyes were already fixed on her exposed cleavage. She had wanted to rest before he called her over. She already had a button loosen from the gown she was putting on before he called her over.

Jessica had forgotten that her chest was a little exposed and Edwin was drooling all over it. Somehow she felt like a pair of eyes were boring through her and she glanced towards Edwin.

She saw that his eyes were fixed on her exposed cleavage. She quickly buttoned up the shirt while throwing him a glare.

A chuckle left Edwin's mouth as he saw Jessica rushing to button up her dress. It wasn't his fault that her chest was exposed. Who would see such temptation and overlook it?

After all, he was a warm blooded man capable of being aroused!
