Chapter 19: Chapter 19

Edwin couldn't take his eyes off Jessica. She was looking extremely gorgeous and her dress brought out an enticing figure. He swallowed hard to control his desire. He needed to take it slow or else, she was going to run away from him.

He already made a mistake with Kathleen the last time, he doesn't want to make another one. To get her, Edwin had decided to stop all those girls from coming to his office.

"Sir, here are the documents you asked for," Jessica said, placing them on the desk. She wanted to rip off those eyes he used in looking at her but she couldn't. After all, he was her boss.

"Yes. I hope you remember our business trip. It's been shifted to this weekend, so you have enough time to get ready" Edwin told her as he snapped back to his senses. Although, his eyes were still fixed on her.

" Yes, sir. I remember the trip and I will make sure to make the necessary arrangements. Any other thing?" Jessica asked, eager to leave as soon as possible.

Jessica wanted to leave because of the scorching look from her boss. It looked like he was going to rip off her clothes right? He was such a pervert! Didn't he just have his fill with his girlfriend that night?

"I want you to get me a glass of coffee and also send these already signed files to the appropriate office," Edwin told her, burying his emotions.

" Yes, sir. I will do that right away"

As soon as Jessica finished with him, she quickly turned around to leave. She can't stay a minute more around his ogling eyes!

Edwin watched as the girl ran away from the office. He smirked in his heart as he thought of how to seduce her. He had to act fast. As he was in thought, he heard a light knock on his office door.

"I thought you were going to give me some days off after all the work I have been doing?"

Edwin just ignored his friend, Roy, who was also his assistant."If I give you days off, how do you expect me to finish the work here?"

"You can with that beautiful secretary of yours. I can tell she is very hardworking," Roy said, smiling.

" Yes, she is indeed beautiful and hardworking. But, I think she might not work for too long here," Edwin responded, staring at the space as he twirled his chair around.

"Edd, what are you plotting again? Don't tell me you are eyeing her!" Roy asked, glaring at his friend.

" Why can't I? I am not a saint. I love what I see so I intend to go for it," he told Roy.

" You know this isn't fair. You are going to regret it if you continue like this" Roy said, frowning at his intentions.

" Stop preaching and tell me about the deal. That old man would skin me alive if I fail to get this deal," Edwin said, changing the topic.

" Suit yourself but I will advise you to leave that poor thing alone," Roy insisted.

" I can't. I already made a bet. And don't be fooled by her appearance, she is far from being innocent"

" A bet? Have you met her somewhere before?" Roy asked, confused.

" Yes. We met at the former place she was working. A coffee shop. I went there to break up with Janet. That's where I saw her"

" Oh! She once worked at a coffee shop. So what happened afterward?"

"Do you know she embarrassed me by slapping me in the presence of people around? I am not going to let her go scot-free!" Edwin said, getting pissed.

" What did you do to her? You must have done something to warrant being slapped by such a girl," Roy pointed out.

" I didn't do anything. I just offered to give her some money in exchange for sleeping with me. She was badly in need of money" Edwin said, nonchalantly.

" Just hear yourself, Edwin. How can you ask a lady to sleep with you in exchange for money? Do you think all women are greedy for money?"

" Of course, they are. Anyways, I have my plans, and don't you dare stop me, Roy," Edwin warned his friend.

Jessica was relieved when it was finally time for the lunch break. She didn't bring lunch from home today. She walked briskly to the cafeteria where she was supposed to meet up with Misha.

Glancing around, she saw that Misha wasn't in the cafeteria. Just when she was about to call her, she received a text from her telling her she won't be able to go for lunch because of her workload.

Jessica decided to finish her lunch early so she could drop off some takeout for Misha. After ordering her food, she sat down to eat. A few minutes later, a young man sat down opposite her.

"Sorry, everywhere is filled up. Hope you don't mind if I sit here?" He said.

Jessica looked up to see a man with gray eyes staring at her." It's no trouble. This is a cafeteria. It's not a crime to sit together"

" Yeah. Thanks all the same. My name is James. You must be the new hot secretary to our boss," James replied, smiling.

" Hot? Are you kidding me? I am anything but hot but thanks all the same," Jessica said, smiling back at him.

James looked as though he was struck by something as he was taken aback by her smile. He shook his head to dispel the thoughts. She was the secretary to the boss and everyone knew that the boss was a chronic womanizer. He doesn't want to lose his job but the girl was just too tempting.

" You are damn hot, babe. Everyone in the office knows that. Even when you were dressed….less glamorous, you still looked good," James said, his eyes fixed on her face.

Jessica just smiled at his words. Of course, she knew she was beautiful but it had been ages since she dressed herself up. Slowly she tends to lose her confidence but working here was making her confident once more.

"Can I ask you something?" James suddenly asked.

" Yes, you are free to ask" Jessica nodded as she drank a glass of water.

" Are you in a relationship with the boss?" James asked.

Jessica almost spilled the water in her mouth all over James's face. How could they assume such a thing? Why would she date someone like him? That man rarely takes his eyes off any woman!
