Chapter 22: Chapter 22

"Ayman what is it?" I groaned as ayman tried to wake me up. "Jimm (car)". This boy is just one and the half year but he can say few words. "No ayman mummy wants to sleep" I turned around but started screaming.

I sighed and stood up "let's go" I said. All he wants is for me to sit down close to him as he plays with his car.

I stood up from where I was sitting and strolled to the Kitchen to make breakfast while ayman played with his car. I fried plantain and egg. I was lazy to cook anything since aasim is at work.

We finished eating before I gave him and i a bath. I dressed up in a pink and yellow floral gown before we headed to Basma's house to see her new baby. She gave birth last two days.

**

"Masha Allah ayman you have a wife now" I said looking at basma's baby. She's so cute and adorable. Ayman kept touching her face and kissing her cheeks.

Basma looked really fair and chubby. "Ayman don't worry she's all yours. Just bring the sadaki now and take her with you" Basma said. "Toh ayman kaji ko". He just smiled like he knew what we were saying.

We chatted for a while before we left. We Went grocery shopping at shop rite. I bought all the food items I need and left.

I went to aunty rashida's house and stayed for a bit. She loves ayman so much. I really pitied her cause she doesn't have any child. Just her and her husband. And her husband is always traveling here and there. She's always alone in her large mansion.

She begged for me to leave ayman but I know his father will skin me alive if I do that. She called aasim but the wicked soul said no. That's how she gave up and we left.

It was a bit after maghrib when we came back. I prayed and started cooking dinner before aasim gets back. I Cooked tuwo and miyan kuka with fish pepper soup. I arranged everything on the dinning table.

I left ayman watching cartoon while I went upstairs to freshen up. I took a quick bath and dressed up. I went downstairs and met aasim and ayman in the living room. "Sannu da dawowa (welcome back)" I slowly said. He just nodded "what's wrong? You look pale" I said sitting down close to them.

"I'm so tired. I just want to take a bath, eat, pray and sleep" his eyes looked red. "Go and take a bath then. We'll be waiting for you" I said and he stood up.

"Salam alaykum" I heard a familiar voice said and I turned to look at who it is. "Umm ayman kenan. You weren't expecting to see me Ko?"

Aasim's POV

I took a warm bath and wore a white tank top with three quarter. On my was downstairs I heard a deep voice talking and laughing.

I cleared my throat to announce my presence. I shook hands with musaddiq before sitting close to my wife. After some few minutes of talking and stood up and left for the dinning. I was really hungry.

I sat on the table and served myself. Every bite I took was delicious. My wife is really a great cook. Alhamdulillah!

"Hey what's up with you?" She asked sitting close to me. "Nothing really just hungry" I shrugged. "Okay if you say so. Uhmm musaddiq is leaving now". I just looked at her and continued eating "that's good"

She rolled her eyes "aren't you going to go say goodbye". She's starting to get on my nerves "can't you see I'm eating" I snapped at her. She quietly rose to her feet and left.

I went to the mosque and prayed isha. I fetched my for laptop and did some office work while Hafsa and ayman went to bed. I finished with what I was doing around 1am and went to bed.

Hafsa must've dozed off cause her

hand was on her belly with her phone. Was about to plug her phone when it buzzed I just ignored but what I saw was really disturbing. I swiped it open to see she has been chatting with random guys. Not that she's cheating on me but for a married woman she shouldn't be chatting anyhow.

I walked to where she was and woke her up "what's the meaning of this?" I asked throwing the phone at her. "What... What's wrong" she rubbed her eyes and took the phone. She glanced at me then her phone. "they're just my class mates". I wasn't in the mood to fight with her.

"So is that why you have the audacity to be chatting anyhow with random men? Do you think it's a normal thing? What the heck is wrong with you? How will you feel if I was chatting with women? Do you think I don't feel angry or upset whenever musaddiq is around you? Just because he's your cousin that doesn't mean you guys can't do whatever you want!!! Is it because I don't complain or do anything? Am I not talking to you"

Her head was low the whole time I was talking. "I'm... I'm sorry. I won't do it again" she murmured. I sighed heavily and stormed out of her room. I went to my room and locked the door.

She has no idea how angry I am....

Next day.....

Hafsa's POV

I woke up really early and made breakfast for aasim. He came down all dressed up in a blue kaftan. He looked breath taking as always. I felt like attacking his lips but I controlled myself "Good morning" I greeted but he didn't answer.

He walked passed me and went to the kitchen. He came out with an apple in his hand. "Your breakfast is ready" I said. He acted like I wasn't even there. He left without eating anything. Was he that really mad at me? Aasim has never done this to me.

I kept wandering around and thinking what to do to make aasim forgive me. I took my phone I wrote a long love letter to him but he didn't reply.

I called him several times, he didn't pick nor called back. I was really starting to get worried.

After like four hours he finally replied my text. But what I saw made my smile to drop. He sent me a text that he was going to kaduna today for a seminar.

I groaned and went to his room. I packed his suitcase and wrote a lot of love letters. I arranged the letters on top of his clothes and zipped the suitcase.

I even cooked for him in case he comes back hungry. I dressed up and made up my face. I quickly jumped from where I was sitting to pick up my phone when I heard it ringing. I actually thought it was aasim.

"Ke ko you don't know when to call someone wallahi" I said to Layla. She's now in school at London. Layla loves London, she would've died if baba didn't take her there. "Someone's in a mood, Lightening up" she replied.

"Na you sabi, Abeg how's London?" I asked. "It's so amazing. I met someone" she giggled. "Hmmm Layla kenan is that what baba sent you to do there?"

"Noo we aren't dating. Not yet but he's so nice and sweet. He's from Nigeria too. He's so so handsome, tall and did I mention he's hot? Ya Hafsa if you see this guy ko, you must fall for him but too bad you're married". This girl is a chatterbox.

"You need deliverance. Layla please be careful. Don't let any guy distract or deceive you. Be the good girl I know you are" I advised. "Insha Allah sister. Where's ayman?" She asked. "Kin San Allah nama manta dashi (I've forgotten about him). Playing with his car or watching tv I guess"

"You suck at being a mom wallahi". See who's talking. "And are you any better?" I questioned. "Don't worry you'll see Ai. Lemme finish with school first"

"Keh I have to go. You talk to much. I wonder how this guy copes with you" I teasesd. "Excuse me for even calling you"

"Sorry sister. I love you, bye" I hung up and finished getting ready. I went downstairs to wait for aasim.

1 hour....

2 hours....

3 hours.....

I've been waiting for aasim for almost four hours now but he never showed up. He must've left for kaduna already. But what about his clothes? Oh ya Allah. I called him twice but he never picked up. Why is he torturing me like this? This isn't fair at all.

I fed ayman his dinner before we went to bed. I wasn't hungry at all. I just miss my husband so much. I want him. My eyes were getting watery but I didn't let it to cascade down. I shrugged off and scold at myself. He'll call me. I know he will.
