Chapter 14: Chapter 14

Aasim's POV.

Hafsa is now five months+ pregnant. She just finished her final exams. Now she's going to level 400 Insha Allah. They're on a long vacation alhamdulillah.

"Aasim!!" I heard Hafsa yelled from the kitchen. "Yes baby" I said walking to the kitchen. She was standing in front of the fridge. "We're out of ice cream" she pouted. "And I'm craving for ice cream" she muttered.

"Don't cry please. I'll go buy some for you now." I hugged her and wiped her lone tear. "I'll be back in a jiffy." I kissed her soft cheek and left.

I went to a nearby Ice cream shop and bought a large jar of ice cream before heading back home. As I stepped into the house, I spotted Hafsa, Abdul and his wife Basma sitting in the living room talking.

"Young B!!" I said giving Abdul a manly hug. "My man!" He said laughing. "Ango naga se wani fresh kakeyi. Gaskiya Basma knows how to take care of you." I said and Basma chuckled.

"Good afternoon" she greeted. "Afternoon amarya. Ya gida? I hope this young billionaire is taking care of you."

"C'mon bruh you know how I love her. You know I don't joke with.... you got it, right?" Abdul winked and we both laughed making Basma to blush. Hafsa and Basma went to the kitchen to cook dinner while Abdul and I went to the masjid to pray isha.

We came back from the masjid and went to the dinning. The ladies were setting the table. I pecked Hafsa on the lips before settling down. "We haven't prayed yet so wait for us" Hafsa said and I nodded. I know my wife well. She'd skin me alive if I started eating without her. They went upstairs to pray while we wait.

They came back after some minutes and we started digging in. "Gaskiya aasim you're really lucky, Your wife can cook" Abdul said taking a spoonful of fried rice and grilled chicken. "Well with the help of your wife here" Hafsa said smiling.

"Hafsa is just the best wife any guy could dream of having. She knows how to take good care of me. She's my happiness, that's why I love her so much" I looked at Hafsa who was already blushing.

"I love you too" she said and pecked my lips. "Mara kunya, ah gabana?" Abdul said and punched me in the shoulder. "Ouch!! That hurts"

"Abdul let's not fight wlhi, do you want to break his hand ne?" Hafsa said and Abdul laugh. "I'm sorry ma'am" he apologized. We continued eating before they stood to leave.

I accompanied them and went back in. I went upstairs and saw Hafsa already in bed taking her ice cream waiting for me. "Hey habibty" I sat close to her and kissed her tummy. "Baby I want to go visit your parents tomorrow" she said keeping the ice cream bowl aside.

"I'll take you during the weekends Insha Allah"

"No, Your sisters and I are going shopping tomorrow"

"No!! You're not going. I don't want you driving in this condition"

"I'm only six months far, cmon baby love please" she pouted which made me to kiss her lips. "Drive safe please"

"Yayy!! Thank you baby" she hugged me. "I'm hungry, I want to eat..." She paused. "Awara"

"What??! Where do you expect me to start looking awara by this time please?". She sniffed and burst out crying. "Oh Allah! Hafsa I'm sorry. I'll go look for it now" she kept crying.

"Barshi kawai" she said and left the room. I had no choice but to go out and look for it. I went to the kitchen and picked a flask. Where on earth would I start looking for awara in Abuja?

I finally found a girl frying awara at one far area From maitama district. I bought it and went back home. I went into our room and waited for her to come out from the bathroom.

I gave her the flask and she gladly collected. She started eating while I went to take a shower. I came out and didn't see her on the bed anymore. 'She probably went downstairs' I thought to myself.

She came in with a piece of cake on a plate and bag of chips. I just shook my head and laid down on the bed. She finished eating her cake and bag of chips "let's make out"

"No, let's sleep" I said. "Don't you want to make out with me?" She pouted. "I do but..." Before I could finish my sentence she joined our lips together. I didn't hesitate to kiss her back.

"Time out!" I said breathing heavily After approximately 10 minutes "Noo!! I'm not tired yet"

"I have work tomorrow Hafsa please let me sleep"

"I thought you said you're the boss"

"Yes I am but I have meeting in the morning. Now let's sleep" I pulled her close to my body and placed my hand on her tummy.

••••

I came back home from work. I was so exhausted and hungry. I went to the dinning table to eat but I didn't see anything. "Hafsa!!" I yelled out her name from the dinning but she didn't answer.

I went to her room but she wasn't there. I checked everywhere in the house but I couldn't find her. 'Maybe she's at the backyard' I thought to myself. I went out to the backyard but I still couldn't find her.

I dialed on her number, it wasn't reachable. Where could she be? Last time we were on phone was around 4pm and she said she was on her way home. I asked the gateman but he said she didn't come back.

I dialed on ruqayyah's number to ask if Hafsa was with her. But she ended up telling me she left since 4. Oh ya Allah!! I hope my wife is alright.

I called mama, Abdul and Hafsa's brother who just got Married last two months but they were giving me the same answer. I called baba and he told me to meet him at home.

Mama called and ask if Hafsa is back yet but I told her no. I told her that I was going to my parents house now and she told me they're on their way.

I'm just scared that something bad happened to Hafsa. Could she be kidnapped or involved in an accident? I know it's unlike Hafsa to be wandering around the city. May Allah protect you and the baby you're carrying.

I arrived in no time and met baba with some police officers and probably detectives. "Salamu alaikum" I greeted and they chorused. I finished exchanging pleasantries with the men and settled down close to baba.

"When last did you see your wife mr aasim?" One of the detectives asked while the other one wrote down some things in his notepad. "This morning" I answered. "Did she tell you she was going out?"

"Yes she told me she was coming here to greet my parents and go shopping with my sisters. I even called to check on her, and the time I called her she was already on her way back home"

"Ever since then, did you call her again?"

I hesitated before I answered the question "No, we didn't talk since then"

"Can I speak with your sisters please?" The detective asked and I nodded. Baba used the intercom beside him to call them. After some minutes they came. They both looked panicked but not as panicked as I am.

"You went shopping with Hafsa right?" The detective asked and they both nodded. "When you were done shopping, did you go to anywhere like a friend's house or somewhere?"

"No, she just dropped us home and left" ruqayyah answered.

"Okay thank you for your time"

They both stood up and left. "We would be leaving now and start investigating now sir. We'll put on effort and try all we've got to find her" we shook hands with the detective before they left.

After they left, hafsa's parents came in. I greeted them before we all settled down. Baba explained everything to ammi and Hafsa's parents. I was really depressed... I couldn't do anything. I was tired and weak. I just pray my wife and baby are in safe hands. "Karka damu Insha Allah za'a ganta. Kawai ka mata addua (don't worry by God grace she'll be found. Just pray for her)" baba tried to console me. I just nodded and forced a smile.

"Let's all pray for her" alhaji abubakar said and I cupped my hand together. We Finished praying for her before they left. "I'm going home too" I announced.

I bade them goodbye and headed home. I didn't care how I was driving, I know I was driving above the speed limit but I didn't care.

I got home and went upstairs to our room. I brought out my phone from my pocket and dialed on Hafsa's number again but it was not reachable. "Where are you my love?" I murmured.

I managed to get up and prayed isha. I sat on the praying mat and prayed to Allah for my wife's safety. I finished praying and laid on the bed. I started looking at Hafsa's pictures on my phone.

She snapped a picture just last night before we went to bed. I kept looking at her pictures. She is a true beauty queen.

That's how I kept looking at her pictures as tears rolled down my cheeks. I didn't care I was crying. It's not like men don't cry, right?

I didn't know when I fell asleep looking at Hafsa's beautiful face.
