Chapter 63: Chapter 63
ROYCE
My spirit jumped out of my body when I saw Nelly in the lobby surrounded by Roxie and the other girls. Thank God it didn't take long for me to finish fixing problems in the company, and I was able to grab Nelly out of those bitches.
"Baby, what did they do to you? I was so worried seeing you surrounded by those girls," I asked when we were inside my car.
"Nothing, just insults, threats, everything they're good at."
I wrapped my arms around Nelly, stroking her back to make her feel secure and loved. She did the same and rested her head on my chest.
"Don't believe anything you've heard from them. Those are not the people we should be listening to, baby."
"Yes, baby. And also, I can take care of myself; you don't have to worry so much."
"Yeah, I know, but I can't help it. I just want to keep you safe, always. Those bitches keep wasting their time messing up with other people's lives. What do they get from it? A bunch of useless people."
"You're right; that's what they love to do. I can't imagine myself in the same position. Let's talk about them more, baby; let's drive home safe."
I nodded at Nelly. "You are nothing like them, my love. You are way better in manners, class, and as a woman. It's a shame to get your name close to theirs."
Nelly was right. It's a waste of time talking about those crazy bitches. I drove fast to my condo, and Nelly wasn't scared of speed. She was used to it already; she knows I always drive fast. One of my achievements as Nelly's boyfriend was I did help her move on from the past trauma. And I am proud of it.
We arrived at my condo safe and sound. I asked Nelly to close her eyes before entering the guest room where she would be staying.
"What? Aren't we supposed to clean it first? Baby, why do I have to close my eyes?" Nelly asked too many questions. She didn't know what surprise was in store for her.
"We don't have to; now, close your eyes."
Nelly heaved a sigh. "Alright then."
"Baby, I'll hold your hand and lead you inside your room and wait for me to say open your eyes. Alright?"
Nelly nodded, so I started leading her to the room. I twisted open the doorknob and checked if Nelly sneaked a peek, and she did.
"Oops, no peeking."
Nelly was fast to close her eyes and followed me inside the room. We stopped at the center of the room.
"Baby, you can open your eyes."
Nelly slowly opened her eyes and then rubbed them. She looked at me and to the bed back and forth. She roamed around, mouth fell open. Her queen-size bed is at the center, on both sides with a side table on them. Since my condo has minimal design and color, the white suits Nelly, well. Plain and simple.
"I thought we still have to clean and arrange my things here."
"I told you, we don't have to. I have people clean this while we are on a date. Do you think it was just a date? I had more things planned for you."
Nelly jogged close and hugged me.
"Baby, this is so sweet. You're making it hard for me to leave this place," she expressed.
"Yes, that's the goal, my love. Perhaps you can consider staying here permanently."
"Still no."
"Ahw, that hurts; how about a kiss?"
"Well, that's not a problem now." Nelly tiptoed and gave me a kiss on the forehead. "Do you want more?"
"How can I say no? How about we do it in your bed?" I asked, glancing at her pretty pink bed.
"No way, I know what you're thinking. Baby, I told you, we can't do it tonight," Nelly said, putting one finger on my lips.
"Well, at least I tried. A man gotta do what he has to do."
"Baby, not tonight."
"Not a problem. Now, let's take a look at your walk-in closet."
"I do have a walk-in closet?" Nelly asked in surprise.
"Yes, this is the only guest room with a large walk-in closet," I said as I led Nelly to the wardrobe.
All the clothes, shoes, bags, and other stuff I bought for her were already transferred. There was someone I trusted who supervised the clean-up and made the arrangement. And they did a great job.
The bags are lined up with the same color and sizes; they separate the clothes for formal and casual, the tops, jeans, and coats are on the different sides of the wardrobe. On the opposite are the stilettos, sneakers, and pump shoes, arranged by the same color. The rest of the accessories are on the same line. At the center were Nelly's make-up kits and vanity mirror.
"Baby, do you like it?"
"Of course, it's perfect. The only missing piece is the stuff I got. I'll put those things here later." Nelly talked cheerfully. She was full of life and excitement, touching the wardrobe and sitting on her vanity mirror.
"Beautiful," I said, focusing on Nelly's reflection, looking at the mirror.
"You are handsome," Nelly said, glancing up at me.
"Am I the most handsome man for you, baby?"
Nelly pinched her chin, seemingly judging my looks in the mirror.
"Well, you are next to my crushes, Tom Holland and the Korean star that I wouldn't mention," she said, covering her cheeks with both hands like embarrassed at what she said.
"Why not?"
"It's my little secret."
I kissed her on the cheek.
"I'm a little jealous of those two men you've mentioned. I'll find out who that Korean star is one of these days. Aren't you supposed to love only one Korean? Baby, I'm half-Korean."
"I can't help it."
"Seriously?" I said, showing a sour facial expression.
Nelly had a triumphant laugh; she knows she succeeded in pissing me off.
"I'll let it pass, but for now. Can you start cooking for us like you've promised?"
Nelly's eyes widened to the sudden reminder of her promise.
"Oh, sorry baby, I almost forgot about cooking and dinner. Let's go."
Nelly has my right hand as she leads in the hallway. We walked by to the other rooms to the kitchen, and the inevitable thing happened. Nelly stopped in front of one of the rooms.
"Baby, what are these rooms? How many rooms do you have here?"
"I have 5 rooms excluding this one. Let's open this up and see."
"Are you kidding me? You have your own gym? Then why do you work out in the FIT ME gym?"
I laughed at her as I seriously didn't know what to say. She caught me. "Let's just say it's my little secret."
"Secret? Why is that?"
"Oh baby, can we talk about this later? I'm a little bit hungry; it's almost 8 in the evening."
"Fine, but you have to talk about your little secret one of these days, okay?"
"Sure. And you'll tell me who that Korean star you have a crush on."
Nelly rolled her eyes and grabbed me as we walked to the hallway.
"I'll think about it," she said, giving me no chance to object.
"Can we agree to have pasta for dinner? It's a different take anyway, not like the spaghetti we had for lunch."
"No problem, my love, I'll eat whatever you cook tonight. I can help."
"Yes, please, we have to hurry up for dinner so that I can start with my new project later on. I'll boil the pasta, and please chop all the ingredients needed," Nelly said, tossing the tomato, onion, and garlic.
After boiling the water for the pasta, Nelly grabbed the other ingredients like olive oil, salt, oregano, basil, spinach, cream cheese, and grated parmesan cheese. She obviously knows what she's doing, but still, she needs my help. It was fun, though. I love spending time with her in any way possible.
