Chapter 34: Chapter 34

I waited for the pain to penetrate my whole being as I closed my eyes. Dying in front of Kylo was torture. Dying before the eyes of someone who looks up to me and believes that I’m perfect. But unfortunately, perfect people die first before anyone else.

“Die!” Vior said in a hushed tone.

I heard someone groan close to me. Someone landed on my chest that made me open my eyes in a hurry. It was Sojin. His body fell to the floor as blood flowed from his abdomen. I bent down to look at him closely.

“You, fool. Why did you do that? I was ready to die. You ruined the peak of the momentum,” I said.

He smiled as blood came out of his mouth.

“Because I can sacrifice myself for the one I love.”

“Love?”

I smirked.

“You could have lived for the one you love. What will happen to the one you love if you left her alone?”

“It’s alright… because she doesn’t love me,” he said before he could no longer breathe.

“I cannot give you the love I don’t have, but I will avenge your death.”

I gaze at Vior who has a blank expression.

“Of all people, I suspected you the least. What exactly happened?” I said.

She crossed her arms.

“I am the mortal who fell in love with an Animie. It was Luxferre. Angel Racan had a mission to take me back to Earth, but I refused. He cursed Luxferre to be a handsome beast. Little does he know that I have mastered the magic of this realm, so I killed him and cursed the Animies,” she explained.

“But why do you have to eat the Demis?”

“We choose someone who has the ability to perform magic. Their flesh strengthens us. Do you get it now?”

She pointed her hand at me as her eyes flashed with anger. She’s going to end my life at this point.

“Too bad. I can also use magic.”

We divert our attention to Kylo. She pointed her hand at me as she spread her fingers and uttered some words.

“Agares, the 2nd demon of the Ars Goetia and the Great Duke of Hell… I command you!”

After Kylo said those words with a fierce expression, my body elevated through the air and a massive force evaded my body. It was as if a group of badass beat me to pieces. I groaned in pain as my back hurts like my bones are being broken. My knee bent as I tried to withstand the immense torment.

I lifted my chest as something was trying to emerge from my back. In a few seconds, my agony ended, and I felt something weird in my body. I stared at my shadow, which showed that I have huge wings.

“What’s happening to me?” I asked.

I heard thunderous laughter.

“You are being possessed by a demon,” Kylo replied.

“What?”

My brows crossed.

“It’s been a long time since I last possessed someone. I like your soul. It’s almost black, perfectly suited for me. You fear no one, not even death. Fueled by delusions of grandeur, you have a beautiful soul,” the demon said and laughed.

Vior’s face turned pale. The sight of me has shaken her.

I felt a powerful force inside of me and my bruises were healed. My adrenaline rushed as I restored my strength. It has reached its full potential. I never felt so alive like this.

“Now… I have proven that I am made in hell,” I said and burst into a crazy laughter.

Vior took a step back.

“Where are you going, human? Don’t you know I can make the runaway stand still?” the demon said.

I pointed my right hand straight to her as a force pulled her to me. I stuck my hand in her neck and lifted her with one arm. The veins in my arms showed up. Her hands held my hand, trying to stop me as I choked her effortlessly.

“This is not fun,” I said and threw her to the wall.

She spilled blood to the floor as she panted. Her hair almost covered her face.

I looked at my wings in awe. It was colored maroon but tainted with black like charcoal. Its feathers were like spikes, like a tiger’s fangs. And it could put six men unconscious in a flap.

“I want to make her taste torture in my ways,” I said.

I took a step closer. But then she pointed her hand at Kylo and manipulated her body like a puppet.

“Come closer and I’ll kill her in a snap,” Vior said in a husky voice.

My body froze as I looked at Kylo. She couldn’t move her body like she’s chained. Her tears fell as she moaned in pain. I clenched my fist.

“Don’t tell me she’s your weakness?” the devil whispered to me.

“You used to be fearless… but now you let a young girl decide if you live or die. That’s a sin. Come to your senses and do what needs to be done,” he added.

At that moment, I no longer had control over my body. The demon took control over everything.

“Do you think you can threaten the Duke of hell? Think again,” the demon said and grabbed Vior’s hand.

He twisted it in a circular motion until he tore her bones to pieces. Vior covered the room with her horrifying screams.

“You want torture? Watch and learn, Vad.”

He held her left arm and plucked her fingers one by one. Her blood splashed on my face, but the demon licked it.

“That’s right. Spill, oh, spill…” he uttered.

He gazed at her face for a second and spoke.

“Open your mouth,” he ordered, but she refused.

“Don’t play it hard, as if I accept no for an answer.”

Her mouth opened against her will while her eyes flickered.

In a flash, he sliced her tongue mercilessly and laughed.

“I hate so much noise. Now, you can no longer speak.”

“Enough,” I said.

“Why? Do you feel pity towards this poor human?” the demon said with sarcasm.

“No. I want her to live and feel the torment as she slowly runs out of oxygen. She needs to feel every bit of her muscle shattering and the emptiness of her arteries until she regrets being alive.”

“Very well. That’s more like you.”

I shifted my eyes to Kylo and walked towards her. She tightly shut her eyes.

“Kylo, wake up…” I said as I shook her shoulders.

I placed my ears close to her mouth and listened to her breathing.

“She’s still alive,” I said.

“She’s shocked. She’s too weak to watch everything, poor thing. She’s going to die soon,” the demon said.

For the first time in my life, I don’t know what to do. Looking at my own body dying in front of me was a terrible sight. I never imagined that this day would come.

“Do something to revive her. She called you. You should at least extend her life. We never know, she might call you again,” I said in a low tone.

“Why would I do that? Since when did demons do charity?”

“Listen, Agares. Living on Earth is not a gift, but a punishment. So don’t take it as an act of kindness. You’re not doing anyone a favor.”

“Well, you have a point. I can extend her life, but I need a blood donor. Someone who has the same DNA as her. It could be her mother, father, or siblings.”

I thought for a minute.

“We have no time for that. We can’t return to Earth at this moment,” I said.

He howled a wicked laugh.

“That’s right. There’s no other way I can revive her.”

“Try my blood.”

“You’re wasting your time.”

“Just do it. Whatever happens, at least I tried.”

The demon scratched my palm and let my blood flow. He placed it on her chest and after a few seconds, red patterns crawled to her entire body as her eyes rolled back. In a few minutes, it stopped and Kylo opened her eyes.

“It worked!”

Kylo’s brows furrowed with confusion.

“What a surprise. How the hell did it work? Unless… you are her father.”
