Chapter 305: Chapter 305: Taking Control of the Tulip Kingdom

"You want us to inherit the Tulip Kingdom? Why? How many people in the Tulip Kingdom think this way?"

Little Finger knew quite a bit of information, and he directly filled in many gaps that Ren and the others wanted to know. The basic outline was already clear, but many details were still missing.

"Honestly, even though we can resurrect every day under the goddess’s power, we’re barely hanging on facing increasingly fierce attacks. Maybe tomorrow, we’ll lose our defenses."

Little Finger sighed. "You should be able to figure it out—we came to the Tulip Kingdom because we didn’t want to die. But who would’ve thought that not dying would turn into a curse..."

They feared death, so they chose the Tulip Kingdom.

Because here, they would be immortal.

Their remaining lifespan would always stay fixed, never changing.

But now?

They had to face countless enemies from other planets every single day. Death had become routine.

They’d die every few days, then resurrect when the bells rang, over and over again... People who feared death had to face it daily. To many of them, this was a curse.

They wanted to end this curse, but as insiders, they had no way out.

Only if another deity became the master here could things change.

If this new master could counterattack, they naturally wouldn’t need to die anymore and could peacefully live through many, many years.

Even if the new master couldn’t counterattack, they’d have their own forces that could replace them, letting them truly disappear.

Little Finger’s words made Ren fall silent.

But he had to admit the guy’s logic was solid.

When you had to constantly face enemies, constantly die, a person who feared death might actually find that true death would become a relief...

"So you want to hand this place over to other deities?"

Ren stared at him. "If I become the master of the Tulip Kingdom, what’s in it for me? Seems like it’s all just trouble."

"You’ll get the remaining divine authority of the Goddess of Dreams. If you can find the parts that were stolen before, you’ll have an entirely new divine office."

Little Finger took a deep breath to calm himself. He didn’t even think about how the other party might view this matter, and bluntly laid out his thoughts. "I know that the way deities grow stronger is by mastering more divine authority."

"The Goddess of Dreams’ authority is very special. Once you master it, you’ll have the ability to appear in the mortal realm at will. You can control the dreams of almost all mortals through dream weavers and even spread your faith through these dreams."

"Spreading faith through dreams might not mean much to the Goddess of Dreams herself, but I believe for deities who control other authorities, the temptation should be pretty strong, right? When the goddess was still around, many deities would come asking for help spreading their faith..."

Maybe he’d really seen through life and death and couldn’t wait to die, or maybe he figured even if a deity killed him, he’d resurrect tomorrow anyway—Little Finger spoke somewhat recklessly, but he was getting to the heart of the matter.

Pretty interesting.

Ren thought to himself.

He felt that this operation was really going smoothly, answering many of his questions and even showing him a path that suited him.

If he could get his hands on the Goddess of Dreams’ authority and combine it with the God of Technology’s authority, a virtual world that could accommodate almost everyone would soon be born.

Then, any intelligent life could enter it for learning, training, gaming, trading...

He didn’t dare imagine how much this world’s development efficiency would increase once all this was realized.

The collision between supernatural powers and technology was showing potential far beyond Ren’s imagination.

"Alright, you can go back now."

Ren waved his hand, letting Little Finger return to his room. Then they turned their attention to the second room.

Even though they’d confirmed Little Finger wasn’t lying, further verification was still necessary.

Especially regarding mastering the Goddess of Dreams’ authority.

Everything that happened here was blocked by them, so the legendary-level powerhouses in these rooms had no reaction and didn’t even know these things had occurred.

A knock sounded.

This time, a female legendary magician came out.

Before Ren could speak, familiar words reached his ears: "You’ve finally come."

Almost the same reaction as Little Finger.

No difference at all.

Ren thought for a moment and began asking the same old questions.

He got almost identical information, nothing extra. Perhaps after three thousand years together, there were no secrets between them anymore. When faced with a deity’s questioning, this was all they knew.

Over the following time, they questioned several more legendary powerhouses one after another.

The only difference was that some people didn’t hate the current situation at all—in fact, they enjoyed it, relishing the daily battles. Especially being able to resurrect made them feel fantastic.

In every battle, they could go all out without worrying about the consequences.

Tomorrow they’d recover anyway, back to the way they were when they first arrived on the island.

After questioning the eighth legendary magician, the Goddess of Magic finally spoke. "Do we need to keep asking? We’ve already had eight people give almost identical answers."

"Of course. Maybe one of them knows some hidden information," Ren said with a smile. "We need to be thorough about this... Actually, this is going way more smoothly than we initially expected, isn’t it?"

"Are you planning to take the remaining authority of the Goddess of Dreams too?" The Goddess of Magic was noncommittal.

They’d even suspected the entire Tulip Kingdom had already been occupied and infiltrated by enemies. Now it seemed that wasn’t the case—they were still in a prolonged stalemate.

Just that the advantage wasn’t as obvious anymore.

"The Goddess of Dreams’ authority seems like a really good complement to my technology authority."

Ren nodded slightly. "I’ve already mastered Lady Dream’s vanity mirror and the Spirit of Tulips authority that the God of War controlled. If I can master the authority here too, then basically, I’ll have collected all of the Goddess of Dreams’ authority."

"If you take control of the Tulip Kingdom, you might have to face the world behind that rift in the future," the Goddess of Magic said again.

But Ren didn’t care. "Even if we don’t take the Tulip Kingdom, when those monsters appear on land, won’t we still have to face them? From the moment that passage opened, we had to deal with all this."

Dealing with all the enemies at this junction of virtual and reality was much easier than dealing with them after they entered the mainland.
