Chapter 184: Chapter 184
Having lived in the water her entire life, she was an excellent swimmer. She knew every possible stroke and moved at great speed. In the blink of an eye, she had swum hundreds of meters, leaving the Water Ghost far behind.
Unfortunately for her, the pursuing Su Yan was even faster and caught up with her in no time.
Because he had just devoured several Soul Beads from Water Ghosts, his swimming ability had been greatly enhanced.
Swimming underwater now felt as natural as being home to him; it was incredibly simple, something anyone with hands could do.
When the Succubus saw Su Yan swimming even faster than her, she was scared out of her wits. Damn it! What’s up with this guy! She immediately exerted the same effort she used to drain people’s Essence, her long, snowy-white legs kicking frantically in the water, and her swimming speed shot up.
However, if the Succubus could speed up, so could Su Yan, and he accelerated even more effectively than she did.
In less than three seconds, he caught up with the Succubus in front and tightly embraced her.
The Succubus, held fast, couldn’t move an inch. Trapped underwater, she couldn’t speak either. In the end, she could only scream frantically in her mind, Ya Zhudie! Ya Zhudie!
While screaming internally, she desperately tried to wriggle her delicate body, attempting to escape Su Yan’s clutches.
Su Yan had initially planned to control this Succubus, making her help him cleanse the Yin entities in this water area—a way to make use of waste, so to speak. But seeing her struggle so fiercely, he reconsidered and gave up on the idea.
He immediately employed his "Hugging Beauty Kill" move and executed her on the spot.
Then he collected a Rare-level Succubus Soul Bead and devoured it straight away, boosting his Attributes and moving a step closer to becoming a Legendary Level Creature.
After dealing with the Succubus, Su Yan quickly surfaced.
He then noticed that the Water Ghost was still waiting at the original location and hadn’t taken the chance to flee.
"You didn’t run?" Su Yan asked the Water Ghost, a hint of surprise in his tone.
"How could I, Great King? Without your permission, how would I dare flee?" the Water Ghost replied respectfully, seemingly eager to cling to Su Yan’s coattails.
Hearing the Water Ghost’s words, a hint of surprise touched Su Yan’s face. He had assumed the Water Ghost would seize the opportunity to escape while he was hunting the Succubus, but it hadn’t. This genuinely surprised him a little.
Thinking it over, Su Yan said to the Water Ghost, "To tell you the truth, I was planning to take care of you immediately after I finished with that Succubus."
"But now, I’ve changed my mind. I’ve decided to spare you and support you in becoming the overlord of this river. Are you interested?"
Upon hearing this, the Water Ghost excitedly nodded repeatedly. "Great King, from now on, I will dedicate my life to serving you, even unto death!"
The reason it had risked staying behind was precisely to take this gamble. And now that its gamble had truly paid off, the Water Ghost was overjoyed.
Soon, both man and ghost came ashore.
Su Yan shook the water droplets off himself, then a burst of his HP instantly evaporated the moisture from his clothes.
He then put on his shoes and socks, clearly indicating he had no intention of going back into the water for vigilante justice any time soon.
Seeing this, the Water Ghost tentatively asked, "Great King, I know the dwellings of many Yin entities, including Rare-level ones. Their Soul Beads..."
Before the Water Ghost could finish, Su Yan interrupted, "Let’s stop here for tonight. We can’t be too greedy all at once; we need to let them grow for a while and come back to harvest the ’leeks’ when the time is right."
So, it’s about sustainable exploitation... the Water Ghost thought, then flattered, "Great King is wise and foresighted! My admiration is so profound I could prostrate myself completely!"
Su Yan ignored the Water Ghost’s flattery and instead asked, "Do you know why I decided to spare you and support you in becoming the overlord of this river?"
"Is Great King going to foster a puppet?" the Water Ghost answered, not entirely certain.
Hearing this, Su Yan smiled.
Then he said, "That’s about the gist of it, but there’s a condition."
The Water Ghost respectfully said, "Please speak, Great King."
Su Yan glanced at the Water Ghost, then continued, "The condition is this: you must not hunt members of the Human race yourself. Furthermore, if you see other Yin entities attempting to hunt humans, you must stop them, or even exterminate them directly."
The Water Ghost immediately nodded without hesitation. "Great King, that’s a small matter. I guarantee I will obey."
Su Yan said, "That’s settled for now. Tonight, I want you to compile a list of all the high-level Yin entities in this river. I will come for it tomorrow."
The Water Ghost replied, "I guarantee the task will be completed."
After giving these instructions, Su Yan left the riverbank and headed toward another destination: the Chaotic Graveyard of Luo City.
The Chaotic Graveyard, with its heavy Yin Energy, was a hotspot for Yin entities. It was rife with Demons and Monsters—an excellent hunting ground.
The only downside was the potential presence of Yin entities, as well as Demons and Monsters, of extremely high Creature Levels. This carried a certain risk of catastrophic failure.
But, as they say, fortune favors the bold. Besides, with five lives to his name, Su Yan wasn’t worried in the slightest and resolutely chose to hunt in the Chaotic Graveyard.
Meanwhile, as Su Yan was on his way to the Chaotic Graveyard, someone was already there.
It was a vibrant, youthful girl, currently squatting alone in front of the Chaotic Burial Mound Gate, fiddling with livestreaming equipment.
After fiddling with it for a moment, the girl started the livestream and, with a smile, greeted the viewers who had been eagerly waiting, "Hello, everybody! It’s been a month since we last met. Did you miss me?"
