Chapter 92: Chapter 92

"Hahaha! Lana, you are clever! I give you that!" Betty wiped away the tears forming at the corners of her eyes. ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ NoveIFire.net

"Indeed, your planning and execution are top-notch. You might even trick the teachers!" Layla laughed.

Fay was the one responsible for turning on the CCTV footage, and since she was connected to the security guard monitoring the CCTV footage, she distracted him and used a secretive method to turn off all the surveillance cameras.

Richard, associated with the disciplinary committee, approved Lana’s request for clarification, and Wade pressured his uncle to pass the rule.

Seamless as it seems, if any of them hadn’t performed their task on time, Lana would have ended up in great trouble.

"Lana, with your planning skills, you should apply for the military strategist position." Wade, impressed, suggested.

Lana waved her hand. "Greatness was what I was born with! Sigh~ Can’t help myself!"

The sextet laughed in unison, turning the atmosphere into a warm and harmonious one.

Lana returned from university and started making talismans. By now, her proficiency had increased to the master level. Just as she finished the 60th talisman, she heard a melodious voice.

"Congratulations, you have unlocked three different talismans." Zephyr’s voice echoed like a lullaby.

Lana sat up straight, and the ache in her back almost made her moan, "Ahh! Shit! It hurts like hell!"

Rubbing her sore waist, she murmured some incoherent words before she asked in an excited voice,

"Now tell me! What type of talisman are they?"

"First is the Basic Cleansing Talisman, which can cleanse the bad luck on a person or evil qi lingering on any object." Zephyr’s words made Lana’s heart beat in excitement.

"Second is the Basic Enhanced Hearing Talisman; once held, it can enhance your hearing for 5 minutes. And the third is the Basic Aura Hiding Talisman; it can hide your presence from any ghost possessing 1 year of cultivation or a human of the equivalent level."

Lana’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

What amazing talismans. With cleansing talismans, her work will be reduced by more than half. With the enhanced hearing talisman, she will have an extra superpower, and with aura hiding, she can practically become invincible in front of ghosts with just 1 year of cultivation.

The grin that crept onto her face could have scared even the ghost she was planning to hide from.

"Hehehe," she giggled under her breath, "Now this... this is what I call progress!"

Mr. Crow, amused, chuckled softly. "You are quite ambitious, aren’t you? Just be careful not to burn yourself out. Mystic energy is not limitless, even for you."

Lana pouted. "Tch, you sound like my grandmother. I know, I know. Rest, eat, and don’t overdo it. But come on, Mr. Crow! This is too good to stop now."

She stood, stretching her stiff limbs. The papers scattered around her desk fluttered slightly as the wind from the open window brushed past.

"Hmm... I’ll test these tomorrow," she decided. "Right now, I need food. My stomach’s about to rebel."

As she walked toward the kitchen, she spotted Lucy. As usual, she gave Lucy a cheerful smile and asked, "Tell me today’s menu; I am starving!"

Lucy gave Lana a kind smile as she gently explained,

"Today, I made all your favorite dishes. Consider this my apology for making you angry before."

Her tone carried genuine warmth and guilt, and the aroma filling the kitchen already betrayed the amount of effort she had put into the meal.

Hearing those words, Lana blinked in surprise. A faint smile curled on her lips as she stepped forward and hugged Lucy tightly.

"If my beast had a personality like yours," she teased with mock seriousness, "I’d be laughing in my dreams every night!"

Both Lucy and Mr. Crow froze for a second, rendered completely speechless by Lana’s strange comparison.

Mr. Crow only managed to ruffle his feathers in helpless amusement, while Lucy could do nothing but shake her head with a chuckle.

Meanwhile, Lana skipped happily toward the dining room, humming under her breath.

Her good mood was infectious; even the crow seemed to flap its wings in rhythm.

Her spirits couldn’t be higher as she sat down and began to feast on the food laid out before her: her favorite spicy noodles, crispy dumplings, and caramel pudding.

Just as she was about to scoop another mouthful, her phone buzzed on the table. The screen flashed with an unknown number.

Lana frowned slightly. "Hmm... maybe my good best friend is calling me again?" she muttered.

However, it doesn’t match with Cassandra’s style at all!

After a moment’s hesitation, she finally picked it up.

A familiar yet uncertain voice came from the other end.

"Miss Lana? This is the bank manager. I, uh, I wanted to apologize for my behavior yesterday."

Lana blinked, leaning back in her chair. "Oh? The same manager who thought I didn’t qualify for an account?"

The man’s voice turned humble, almost pleading.

"Yes, that would be me. I realize my mistake now. Please, allow me to make amends. I sincerely request that you return to our bank and open an account. As compensation, we’re prepared to offer you any benefits you wish, higher interest rates, exclusive privileges, anything within our power."

Lana raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, really? And did the Almond family finally grow a conscience and order you to say this? Or are you suddenly overwhelmed with guilt?"

There was a pause on the line. Then the manager sighed softly.

"Miss Lana... I was blinded by arrogance before. But now I just want peace. Please don’t ask who told me to do this. I only hope you can forgive me and give me another chance."

Lana’s expression softened a little, though her tone stayed teasing.

"So someone did force you, huh? Fine, fine. I’ll drop by later and open the account."

The man exhaled in obvious relief. "Thank you, Miss Lana. Truly."

In his heart, though, he was filled with respect.
