Chapter 73: Chapter 73
Once settled, Lana let out a sigh within her heart. The room she had chosen was decidedly mature and serene, a stark contrast to her vibrant personality.
It was an expansive space featuring a semicircular balcony. A study area was also present, complete with a sleek black desk and a pristine white cupboard.
At the room’s center lay a circle inscribed with runes, and Lana strongly suspected it bore some connection to the Aether absorption circle she had encountered at Shadowridge University.
Across from the balcony and desk stood a king-size bed, and with just a glance, Lana discerned that the mattress was luxuriously fluffy, akin to a cloud.
A door was also part of the room, which Lana surmised led to the bathroom. A short distance from the bed, a walk-in closet caught her eye, and her gaze sparkled with delight at the sight of neatly arranged designer clothing.
Not that she was lacking in attire... but her white moonlight had certainly gone above and beyond in his preparations!
"This feels orchestrated," Mr. Crow remarked, his skepticism regarding this so-called white moonlight palpable.
"What do you mean?" Lana’s attention was captivated by the array of dresses and handbags. Call it vanity, but the sight of those exquisite items washed away her weariness.
"Not that I have anything to contribute," she replied with an air of indifference.
"From my perspective... he is clearly trying to win you over!" Mr. Crow’s words were blunt, a flicker of insecurity evident in his eyes.
Lana paused for a moment before retrieving her phone.
Mr. Crow was perplexed by her actions. "What are you up to?"
"Eh? Didn’t you say he is pursuing me? I was planning to reach out and convey that, should he allow me to kiss his sculpted abs, I would happily marry him on the spot."
Lana erupted into laughter; Mr. Crow’s astonished expression brought her immense joy.
"You! You! Are you not aware that a girl who is too easy to get is seldom valued?" Mr. Crow tightened his claws on Lana’s shoulder and exclaimed in frustration.
"Easy to get? Perhaps?" Lana continued to laugh, though the emptiness in her mirth tugged at Mr. Crow’s heart. "But Mr. Crow, I am simply that desperate. What can I say? Pathetic, right?"
"Indeed, it is pathetic. Do you really need to chase after this so-called white moonlight? Countless other men would treat you far better!" Mr. Crow admonished, his heart aching.
"No." Lana flopped onto the bed, her voice dreamy as she murmured, "No man will ever treat me better than Lucian. You don’t believe me, do you? Let’s make a bet; in the next month, even you will come to see... he is deserving of being my white moonlight."
"And what then? Are you going to act like a wounded puppy and plead for his attention?" Mr. Crow asked, irritation lacing his tone.
Only he was aware of the concern simmering within him.
"Eh? No!" Lana shook her head firmly, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Mr. Crow, life is filled with too much gloom; we should all focus on the brighter side."
"Like what?" Mr. Crow inquired, skepticism evident in his voice.
"Like... capturing some workout photos of my white moonlight. Spoiler alert... he is always shirtless during his workouts." Lana chuckled, the joy in her voice leaving Mr. Crow momentarily speechless.
"Sometimes I worry about you... and at other times, I fret over your ambitious wolf-like nature." Mr. Crow shook his head.
"Hey, just because I contracted you doesn’t mean I should adopt a crow-like ambition, right?" Lana teased playfully, gazing at Mr. Crow.
At her words, Mr. Crow attempted to swat her head with his wing, but she was quicker and rolled away.
Their playful banter continued, fostering an atmosphere that felt both warm and harmonious.

Since she had not brought talisman paper and her cultivation was at the cusp of a breakthrough, Lana succumbed to sleep.
Unlike previous nights, she was free from nightmares. Perhaps it was the psychological comfort of being near Lucian... or perhaps she was simply too exhausted; Lana enjoyed a peaceful slumber.
The following day, Lana awoke, rubbing her eyes groggily. Habitually, she glanced to her left, but instead of the familiar bustling street, she was met with an unfamiliar sight.
With a wry smile, she proceeded to shower and then made her way downstairs.
Mr. Crow, perched on her shoulder, was in the midst of a quarrel. "You heartless woman! You still haven’t gathered 20 earthworms for me!"
"Alright! Alright! I will do it today," Lana reassured him, a smile blooming on her face as her eyes met Lucy’s.
"Good morning, Lucy."
"Good morning, Miss Lana. Your breakfast is ready," Lucy replied with a smile, her demeanor noticeably more relaxed upon seeing the cheerful Lana.
"Such a sweetheart!" Lana complimented, "Unlike my Mr. Crow, who is acting all grumpy due to his first period... hey! Mr. Crow! Don’t you dare mess with my hairstyle!"
By the end of her sentence, Lana’s tone had taken on an annoyed edge, and she and Mr. Crow engaged in a playful tussle.
Witnessing this scene, Lucy bit her lip to suppress her laughter.
The sight was undeniably amusing. Lana flailed her arms like a child while Mr. Crow retaliated with his wings.
The household was soon to become lively...
Ultimately, Lana’s hair resembled a bird’s nest, while Mr. Crow sat atop the disheveled mess, a few of his feathers missing.
With a cheerful expression, Lana savored a pancake while Mr. Crow, exhausted from their playful skirmish, rested atop her head.
They appeared to have completely forgotten the playful battle that had just transpired.
"See... just how attentive he is? He even prepared a table full of breakfast! All according to my choice!" Lana praised in her mind.
Mr. Crow just ignored her.
Once breakfast concluded, Lana quickly brushed her hair and set off for the temple.
Today, she was scheduled to meet with the mission issuer; however, before that, Lana decided to stop by the temple to gather her belongings.
She also wished to bid farewell to Monk Anaro.
