Chapter 84: Chapter 84

“Lily, I’ve missed you so much!” Lucifer woke Lily as soon as he entered the door. At this moment, he grabbed Lily's shoulder with both hands and kept shaking: "Are you okay? Are you still dizzy?"

Just as I stood up to stop him, a big hand grabbed his collar and pulled him up. Athan Buffay said to Lucifer coldly, "Move away, kiddo."

Lucifer, who was usually noisy, stood up quietly at this moment, and did not fight back at all. Mona looked at Athan in surprise, and then pointed at Lucifer, "How did you make him scared of you?"

Athan shrugged and smiled: “his dad Finn is my best friend, and I’m his godfather. So sometimes I educate him for his dad.”

When he said educate, Lucifer’s small shoulders twitched.

He looked at me as if begging for help. At this time, Mike jumped up to me and said excitedly, "Mommy, I saw that there is a place on the first floor for children to play games. Can I take Lily there?"

"Take me with you! I wanna go, too." Lucifer exclaimed.

Mona shivered too, and she seemed terrified of being in the same room with Athan Buffay after yesterday. She stood up, volunteering. "I'll take them there! See you later, Katherine." Before I could say anything, she left the room with the kids.

In the blink of an eye, only the two of us were left in the originally lively room. I didn’t want to be with him at all! I stood up quickly and explained: “I better go with her, she can’t take care of all three of them all the same time.”

I walked to the door, but the corridor at the door was narrow and crowded, and Athan Buffay stood there like a wall, so I had to walk sideways.

I held my breath, trying not to let myself touch him as I leave. It only took me a few steps to walk, but it felt extremely long. Suddenly, he turned to look at me, and I was startled by his action, I involuntarily leaned back, and the back of my head hit the wall.

The next second, his warm hand covered the back of my head, and he reached his other hand against the wall. I was wrapped in his arms, and I couldn’t move at all.

I dare not move or speak. I didn’t want to offend him and cause him to bite me again! If I could, I'd like to stare down at my toes, but we're too close, and if my head is too low, I'll lean against his chest. I had to try my best to look down so I would avoid eye contact.

I could feel his fiery gaze, the air seemed still, and my heart was beating faster.

Athan Buffay leaned towards me slowly, exuding his unique mint smell. I held my breath and felt his face rest on my shoulder. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

His warm breath spritzed on my skin, and I felt a little itchy.

"let me go."

"No."

"I gotta go..."

"Markus went with them, it's fine."

“What do you want? I …”

Before I could finish my sentence, he licked the wound on my neck!I just felt a strange moist touch, and when his tongue licked my wound, I couldn't help shuddering.

“It’s not deep enough,” he whispered in pleasant, “The smell dissipated quickly and I could barely smell it. Maybe I should bite harder next time.”

“Let me go, Athan.” I pushed his chest, and he didn’t move.

“what’s your next excuse, Katherine?” he looked down at me, trying to meet my eyes, “or do you want to run away again if I let you leave?”

“you misunderstood, Mr. Buffay,” I replied to him, “why would I be running away when I know you will find me anyways?”

He laughed as he was truly amused by me, “that’s a good girl.”

I couldn't push him away, I just felt more and more annoyed. Why couldn’t he just let me go? Didn’t he have a fiancé already, wasn’t he about to get engaged? Why was he still holding on to me, why was he doing this to me?

Or was I really a toy for him?

I'm exhausted, I'm tired of dealing with him! So I raised my head to look at him, and he raised his eyebrows, seemingly delighted by my reaction.

“How on earth are you going to let me go, Athan?” I sighed.

He stared at me for a while, his green eyes were deep. Then he looked down, leaned forward toward my lips. Just as he was about to kiss me, I turned my head away.

He was not angry, the rage I imagined didn't happen, instead he laughed. His low laugh made me think he was teasing me like playing with a pet.

He pressed his lips to the pinna of my ear and whispered into my ear: "Stop running away, Katherine. If you do it again, I'll really go crazy."
