Chapter 3: Chapter 3
Five years later…
Diamond City, just like its name, the city is huge and bustling, and the neon lights at night make the whole city shine like diamonds. Which is something I've never seen in a werewolf pack.
My knees were weak as I stand in front of a grand building. I was so nervous, I've tried countless times, but haven't been able to meet this person yet.
Human society is different from werewolf packs. Although we also have classes, it was more a division of bloodline and physical force.
However, the human world is much more complicated.
There are so many occupations and classes here, and everyone seems to play more than one role. They can be both a successful corporate managers and a gambler, or both a good educator and a failed father.
And the most important thing in this world - money. Money can buy mostly everything, money is the belief of this society, most people work so hard their whole life just for this one single thing.
The person I tried so hard to meet, he is the privileged class of the country, and the richest man in the city.
But I need something from him, that even money can’t buy.
I need him to save my husband Jack.
It all started from the night I was expelled.
It was a dark night, I didn't take too much luggage from home, so many years of oppression from Thana and Ann left me with nothing of my own.
As I approached Pack Junction, there was a large group of Deltas from the Full Moon Pack, who seemed to be searching for something.
It's strange to see them here. Father once talked about them, The Full Moon Pack is not like my Pack or other Packs that’s been leading by older generations who believed that keeping away from human society is the key factor in the development of the werewolf Pack. On the contrary, their alpha had always had the ambition to assimilate into the human society.
The next second, I was fascinated by the lavender field that often appeared in my dreams, the purple flower fields look like they've been silvered by the moonlight.
Just then I found that there seemed to be a person standing there in the flower field. The man's back is very tall and his aura is strong. When I saw some Delta soldiers run to him from time to time and report something, I knew that he must be a leader of this team.
While I was standing still and looking at him, the man seemed to sense my gaze, and turned around in my direction, I hurriedly leaned down.
I can’t be found by anyone, I’m just an Omega without a pack, and pregnant. If I get caught, god knows what they would do to me.
Thinking of this, I didn't dare to stay any longer, and quietly ran away.
I walked so fast that I didn't hear the man talking to one of the Deltas, he talked in a low voice but with strong alpha tone, "It's been two months, I don't know how she's doing now. I have to find her no matter what, whether it takes a year, ten years, or a lifetime!"
“Yes, Great Athan, we will do everything we can to find your mate!”
Jack was the first human I saw after I got abandoned from my father.
This city is huge. I didn't know how far I had walked. I lost my way in the bustling streets, and sat weakly on a bench.
"Hey, how are you? You look pale." A tall person stopped beside me, with a smile on his face. But before I could speak, I fainted.
I was in a hospital emergency room when I wake up, a man was sitting next to me, and he hurriedly called the doctor when he saw me awake.
Later he told me his name, Jack Hardon.
Since then, Jack had been my only friend in the city. He helped me rent a house, find a job, and often take care of my daily life. After my children were born, he suggested us to get married so that my kids can grow up in a complete family.
For five years, our days had been dull but happy. Until this day that I received a call from the hospital, Jack fainted on the way to work.
I didn't know until then that he had blood cancer.
After looking for help in countless places, I finally found a way to save Jack.
There is only one person who fits his bone marrow. He is the CEO of the largest security company in Diamond City and one of the youngest and richest entrepreneur in the city -- Athan Buffay.
However, I didn't know that my entanglement with Athan had started a long time ago…
