Chapter 25: Chapter 25

A black Benz raced down the road and behind the wheel was Andrew looking lost and abandoned. But at the same time, he sincerely hoped his assumptions were wrong and Sarah is still the innocent pretty girl he is in love with.

It took him four minutes to drive to the café on the next road and once he got there, he drove in and parked his car properly before immediately getting down. After ensuring the doors were locked, Andrew walked into the café where he was ushered to a designated spot.

As he approached the table, he spotted her.

There she was, sitting and facing the table, her back to him. Her blonde hair is something he could never mistake for anything and even just staring at her from behind, he could already sense the familiarity. He could recognize her anytime, any day and even in the dark. He knew her like the back of his hand.

That is the woman he is in love with; Sarah Matthew.

Andrew paused and stood on the spot and just staring at her from the distance brought tears to his eyes. He had missed her greatly and even though it was just a few months since he last saw her, it felt like it’s been years.

Andrew stepped forward and hastened his steps and immediately he was right behind her, before she could turn, he lowered himself and wrapped his firm arms around her neck hugging her longingly.

“I missed you so much, I missed you,” Andrew muttered, trembling slightly as he showered her face with kisses.

Sarah sat sill. She did not move and just let him bathe her face in his kisses. Her hands on her lap balled into fists and it looked like she was refraining so hard from pushing him away. When she couldn’t take it any longer, she shut her eyes.

Andrew stopped kissing her and hurriedly took the sit opposite her so that only the small coffee table separated them. Then his gaze wouldn’t leave her face.

Soon, he began ranting like a spoilt child.

“Sarah, how would you just leave me hanging? I could not even reach you over the phone for months. Just where and why did you go hiding? You did not miss me at all? I miss you so much, Sarah…” He suddenly stretched out his hands to grab the hands she had just brought to the table, wanting to take her cup of coffee.

She sighed and looked down at the large palm holding hers before looking back up at his face.

“You should take your coffee,” she stated calmly like nothing he said or did move her.

Andrew was stunned that he let go of her hand. Seeing that, she picked up her cup and brought it to her lips.

After staring dumbfounded for a while, he glanced down at the coffee in front of him and then back at the woman sitting pretty across the table.

“Sarah?” he called out still looking shocked. She didn’t say anything and just stared at him emotionlessly. In the next minutes, Andrew began to suspect she had been possessed or something. Not like he believed in witches or the sorts, but he strongly began to believe the person opposite him was not his Sarah.

“Sarah, what the fuck happened to you? Where did you go?” Andrew muttered, his hands clenching into fists. Instead of replying, she stared right into his eyes and Andrew stared right back at her, hoping to catch even the slightest trace of emotion in her eyes but his hope chattered when she just looked away unmoved.

Andrew shut his eyes in anger and his emotions got the better of him. “Answer me!” he yelled.

Sarah flinched and her coffee splashed on her dress. She had never expected such an outburst from him and what’s more, he had never raised his voice at her.

She stared at him and seeing how angry he was, she was stunned. Andrew did not move or get up from his sit and with his eyes narrowed at her, he watched as he actually got a reaction out of her.

Sarah glanced down at her dress and seeing the mess, she raised her head and glared at Andrew. A few people took quick glances at them but no one dared come closer. Probably because Andrew is known to be Wesley Maxwell’s assistant and most trusted man.

Ignoring her glare he went on questioning her. “Answer my questions, Sarah!”

“Are you crazy?” she asked angrily and Andrew stared at her bewildered.

“No, I think you also should answer that. But I think you’re crazy,” she scoffed and his jaws dropped.

Seeing that things were about to go out of hand, she decided to go straight to the point.

“Listen, Andrew. Let’s break up,” she stated nonchalantly and Andrew’s eyes widened in surprise that they almost rolled out of his socket.

“What?”

“You heard me right.”

Andrew thought he heard wrong, but the look on her face said it all. She really wanted to break up with him. Out of the blue? Why? Where was that even coming from?

“But why? Just why Sarah?” Andrew asked as his eyes reddened slightly. Even still, he didn’t stop gazing right into her eyes, thinking he would see anything, just anything. But there was nothing. No emotions, no guilt. She really did not care.

She really wanted to break up with him.

But why?

“Why Sarah?” he asked as his lips trembled.

“Let’s just say I got tired of you and fell out of love. Is that reasonable enough?”

“Besides, you should be grateful I’m honest with my feelings. I have no feelings for you anymore Andrew.”

Andrew stared straight at her and soon tears gathered in his eyes.

This was too much for him. The betrayal and pain, heartbreak and disappointment, then her nonchalant attitude. The fact that she did not care!

“How could you just get tired of me without warning? That’s not possible Sarah. I don’t believe this bullshit!”

“Please talk to me, baby. Are you in some sort of trouble? I’ll help you.”

He suddenly reached out to grab her hand but she took it back immediately like his touching her would infect her with some sort of plague or virus.

Andrews's hand froze on the table and in deep agony, he muttered, “I’m not breaking up with you.” Then he raised up his red-rimmed eyes to stare at her. Seeing this, she pursed her lips into a thin line.

“I never agreed to this so you can’t break up with me," Andrew said and chuckled darkly but he paused when Sarah also chuckled.

“Then when you see me with another man, don’t blame me for cheating on you. Don’t even dare!”

What she said set something off in his head.

He looked at her as his tears threatened to fall, simply oblivious to his environment.

With that, Sarah picked up her handbag, dropped her cup of coffee and rose to her feet. Then she spun on her heels and walked away ignoring the curious gazes coming from the few people in the coffee shop. Surprisingly, Andrew did not stand up or show any sign that he was going to go after her.

Mutterings soon began.

“Huh? What type of lady is that? What did that young handsome man do to warrant such treatment from her?”

“She obviously doesn’t deserve him,” another person muttered.

Sarah left the building and entered the road. She began walking down the road unconsciously so that she didn’t know she was taking the wrong direction.

Minutes later, tears began streaming down her face.

Seeing that people were beginning to glance at her strangely, in addition to the coffee mess on her dress, she went to a corner off the road and busted into tears. She cried for minutes that she did not know when a car drove up to her and parked right behind her.

Immediately she sensed that she immediately wiped her tears and turned to see the window of a car's driver’s side rolled down. Behind the wheel was the masked lady.

Seeing her, a tear strayed down her eyes once more.

“I did what you want. Stay away from me," Sarah muttered through gritted teeth but anyways, the masked lady laughed softly and then said, “get in the car.”

“I won’t,” Sarah shook her head stubbornly as she glared at the masked lady hatefully. “what do you still what from me? Stay away! I did what you want already!”

“And why are you shouting?” the lady asked, her brows furrowing in fury. Sarah shuddered but immediately composed herself. “I would go nowhere with you!”

“But I want you to” the lady mocked. “I still have need of you.”

Seeing Sarah would not bulge, she brought out a gun and pointed it at her. “get in the car right now Sarah or I won’t hesitate to blow your head off,” she stated coldly her voice turning icy.

Sarah stared at her for a while then she suddenly smiled.

“What’s the point? There’s no use in living anymore. I mean, you made me break up with Andrew. You have no idea how much I love him and how much you made me hurt him. He probably hates me now,” she chuckled sadly then staring straight into the eyes of the person pointing a gun at her, Sarah muttered, “the masks and the coasters, I don’t care whatever. Just go ahead and kill me.”

Afterwards, she shut her eyes and resigned to her faith, waiting to embrace death.
