[Was that really Daisy in the video this morning?]

[But it’s true whether you believe it or not. I watched the video and Gwaarrrd, I can’t believe I was ever her fan.]

[Huuurrrghh, I’m really disappointed and disgusted right now.]

[She’s a bitch. I guess that’s who she is, and she has always just pretended to be a decent lady. This blew up to her face. She could not hide her callousness forever. I wonder what she will do.]

[Last night was her anniversary night. Edward must be so heartbroken.]

Daisy read the comments, and tears dropped from her eyes.

She had suddenly become a public nuisance, and this whole scenario still felt like a nightmare to her.

It was almost 7 p.m already, and the situation seemed to be getting worse.

‘How did this happen to her?’

Her phone suddenly started ringing, and she was so startled that she dropped it, almost throwing it off the bed.

Staring at the name displayed on the screen, her hand flew to her mouth as she began sobbing once more.

Her dad was calling.

Currently, in Rose’s house, which she only got to know about today, she sat up on the cozy bed in the room Rose had put her in. It seems to be like Rose actually uses this room, and they will be sharing the room.

Rose told her she wanted to watch over her and take care of her for a few days. Cindy had come around and left when the director called her over. The two friends seem to be making great efforts to put things under control, but the opposing party seems to be more powerful.

Rose had left Daisy alone for an hour now to do what she could after making sure the latter had fallen asleep. Now she had woken up, stole her phone from where Rose had it hidden and logged on to her Instagram page.

She could not stop crying at how things had suddenly gone bad.

Last night was her anniversary night. That should be trending now, not some sex tape and scandal.

Daisy is fully aware her family background is what’s still keeping her in the entertainment industry and the only reason why they haven’t called her to lay her off or get her blacklisted. And she could not help but feel like her life had come to an end.

Acting is her life, her passion, her dream.

At a point, she began to doubt the usefulness of her existence on earth.

Her industry might not give her any role for even a year, and when that passes, she might never be able to get lead roles anymore. She might never be able to star in a movie because the public opinions really matter as they are the audience.

She would not be an A-listed artist anymore.

Her fans hate her now. What’s more? They might even throw stones at her if she decides to walk on the street of Australia.

Her phone had stopped ringing, and she just went on wailing, alone in the room.

She was distraught and was slowly slipping into depression. Daisy needed help!

Who would help her now?

Her phone started ringing again, and she looked to see it was her dad calling again.

She would have to answer his call sooner or later. So she would answer it.

On the way when Rose brought her here, she thought she would have the courage to call her dad and her sister Violet, but now, she really couldn’t, and she felt horrible.

With trembling fingers, she picked up her phone and brought it up close. Then, she put her shaky fingers to slide on the answer button. With her eyes tightly shut, she pressed the phone against her ear.

“Dad,” she breathed out as tears streamed down her face.

“Daisy, where are you?” his voice sounded really low and worried.

“Am at Rose… I.. I... I actu… actually. I’m sorry, dad.” When she could not say anything reasonable, she ended up saying that.

“Where are you? Just come home, Daisy.”

“I didn’t do it, dad,” she busted into tears. “I was set up.”

The other end was silent for a while.

Then he said, “I know my daughter. That can never be you. Can you come home, or should I come to pick you up?”

Daisy opened her eyes as her tears kept pouring.

Her dad believed her, and she felt happy. At least…

‘Will Edward ever believe me?’ she sobbed. ‘I cheated on him, and he will feel so hurt. Will he ever believe me?’

“Dad, I’ll be staying here for a while. Rose is trying to help me out with everything going on. I’m scared to come outside.”

The worried father was silent once more.

“Hope you’ve taken preventive measures. You can’t just get pregnant for some random guy. You still have to apologize and explain to Edward.”

Daisy was embarrassed.

And with her cheeks becoming slightly pink, she answered bashfully, “Rose got me contraceptives.”

“You know you should go to the hospital for tests and checkup,” he probed further, and Daisy nodded sadly. “Rose invited about three doctors over. I’m totally fine.”

“That’s a relief,” he breathed out.

Daisy was both happy and sad.

“Violet isn’t mad at me, right?” she mumbled sadly, and the man laughed. “Why would she? She’s so mad and angry right now that she wants to deal with everyone who has hurt you, including your fans.”

She lowered her eyes as her eyes glistened with tears.

Her dad was deliberately avoiding talking about Edward, and she knew it. He didn’t want her to cry.

“You know, Daisy, you really don’t need to go back to the entertainment industry. Your mum and I have always told you,” he tried to console his daughter. What’s more, he had never been content with her being her actress when she could do better.

“But I can’t come to the company now, dad. I’ll ruin it. My reputation is terrible right now,” she felt extremely terrible.

She was also concerned, but he thought she was just trying to give an excuse, so he probed further.

“Things would surely get better, baby. I’m very sure the truth will surface somehow. And even if it doesn’t, you don’t have to worry. Just resign, okay.”

But Daisy wasn’t thinking that way.

Besides, the only thing on her head right now is getting back to Edward. She really can’t do without him.

Seconds passed, and they both remained silent. While Daisy wallowed in sadness, Mr Louis yawned for his daughter. His heart went out to her.

He would have asked who the person in the video with her is or what he looks like, but knowing she had just gone through a traumatic experience so he wouldn’t ask her questions regarding the incident.

At least, not now.

He would do that later on, and he promised to deal with whoever the person is, whether he is a mere street guy or the world’s president.

He would deal with whoever hurt his daughter.

For now, he just wanted his daughter home so he could look after her by himself.

“Daisy, I’ll come to pick you up tomorrow morning. Send me the address.”

But the girl shook her head. “Dad, I’m scared of going out right now,” tears strayed down her eyes.

Mr Louis inhaled deeply before saying what was on his mind. He was going to avoid saying that but seeing how adamant his daughter is, he just has to say it.

“Daisy, you know I love you so much, right? I have just you and Violet ever since your mum left us. You said you were set up, which I already know is the case. No one can set you up asides from your close friends. I’m not saying they did, but only your friends can, directly or indirectly. Just come home for now, okay.”

Daisy’s eyes widened when she heard what her dad said.

For seconds, she was stunned.

She narrowed her eyes in a daze before she suddenly shook her head hastily.

“I have a few friends and colleagues, dad, and I know anybody can hate me and do that to me. But the only people I’m seeing, for now, are Rose and Cindy, and they can never do that to me,” She said confidently.

But the truth is, she is too embarrassed to face her dad and sister now, and since she trusts her best friends so much, she’ll just stay with Rose for the time being.
