Chapter 16: Chapter 16
A week has passed and Michelle hasn’t seen Nathan. She was worried because he left without her notice, she didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye and he hasn’t called ever since. She remembered that Derek came home really angry the day he told her he was with Nathan at his new home. When she had asked him why he was so angry, he didn’t say anything, he just held her close to himself. She didn’t want to pressure him, so she didn’t question him any further. She wondered what might have transpired between them.
Maybe, he had an argument with his mom. But, if that were the case, Nathan wouldn’t be avoiding her like he's doing right now.
Michelle then decided to give Nathan a call, to know if he was okay and to know why he didn’t tell her that he was moving out.
“Hello, Michelle?” Nathan said as soon as he picked the call.
“Yes, it’s Michelle… Were you expecting to hear someone else’s voice?”
“No… it’s just… just forget it. How have you been?” he asked.
“I’ve been worried… Did I do something wrong?” she asked in a low and sad tone.
“No, Michelle. Please don’t think that way.”
“Then, why didn’t you tell me you were moving out… I only noticed you’ve moved out a few days ago… you didn’t let me say a proper goodbye.”
“I didn’t want to bother you… you’ve done more than enough already.”
“Helping a friend isn’t a bother to me.”
“Okay, my bad. I’ll make it up to you.”
“And how do you intend on doing that?” she asked with a slight chuckle.
“Name what you want, my lady.”
Michelle couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“Okay… I want you to pay me a visit tomorrow.”
“Just that?”
“Yeah, that.”
“Consider it done.”
“I’ll be expecting you tomorrow then. Bye.”
“Bye beautiful.”
Michelle blushed at the pet name. She was grateful he wasn’t here to see her because that would’ve been more embarrassing.

It was a Saturday morning, Derek was in the living room watching TV while Michelle was upstairs taking a shower, they had just finished having breakfast. The door bell rang, Derek wondered who it was as he wasn’t expecting anyone. He went to get the door and to his annoyance, it was Nathan.
“What are you doing here?... I thought I told you not to come here?” he angrily asked.
“I’m not here for you, Derek… I’m here to see Michelle.” Nathan replied with a bored expression on his face.
“I told you to never come anywhere close to her again. It seems you didn’t understand a word I said.” Derek said through gritted teeth. He was already irritated by Nathan’s presence.
“It seems she doesn’t know about that since she invited me over… So, what are we going to do about that?”
“Derek, Who’s at the door?”
They both turned towards Michelle who just walked into the living room. She was wearing a grey ripped cold shoulder mini sweater dress. She walked towards the door where Derek stood, and when she realized it was Nathan, she engulfed him in a hug. Nathan reciprocated the hug and looked at Derek with a smirk on his face, that made Derek even more angry. Michelle pulled away from the hug and noticed that the atmosphere was a bit awkward and new to her. Derek was glaring at Nathan, not taking his eyes off him.
“Derek?... Is everything okay?” she asked in concern
Derek turned his attention towards her for a moment and walked away from their presence without a word.
“Derek?... Derek!” she called out his name but he didn’t respond
He went upstairs.
Michelle was slightly confused at his reaction. What could’ve made him this upset with Nathan? She wondered. While she was still staring at the stairs confused, Nathan said
“Don’t worry about him… he'll come around”
Michelle then realized that she had kept Nathan standing
“I’m sorry. Please come in” she politely said, and they both went into the living room, making themselves comfortable on the couch.
“What happened between you two?” she couldn’t help but ask, because she has never seen Derek this mad at Nathan.
“It was just a little fight… you don’t need to dwell on it” Nathan replied like nothing happened
“You two don’t fight, so what’s up with this attitude?”
“Oh we do fight, but not all the time… like I said, he'll come around. Enough about Derek… how are you?” Nathan asked, trying to change the subject
“I’m fine. Just mad at you”
Nathan chuckled at her reply
“And you two… are you guys good?” he asked
“Yeah. It’s just… Derek has been off lately. He seems distant and different”
“And he hasn’t said anything to you yet?” Nathan asked, trying to inquire if Derek has mentioned anything about their last conversation.
“No… I guess neither of you wants to say anything about it” she said in a disappointed tone
“Hey, don’t be sad” Nathan said affectionately, taking Michelle’s hand in his
“We'll be good before you know it” he continued
But deep down, he knew that was a lie because at this point, Derek considers him an enemy.
“So, I want you to take off that sad look and show me that lovely smile of yours”
Michelle couldn’t help but smile at his statement. He always had something sweet to say at the end.
“Okay. I'll do it because you asked… what would you like to drink?” she asked, now standing up to get a drink
“That’s more I like it” Nathan said with a smirk
They talked for a while and Nathan was doing a lot to make Michelle laugh. It actually worked, but deep down she couldn’t help but worry about Derek. She wondered what he was doing upstairs.
Nathan said goodbye and promised to pay her another visit when Derek is a lot more comfortable with his presence, but he doubts that day would ever come. After closing the door, she hurriedly went upstairs to check on Derek. He wasn’t in the bedroom, neither was he in his study. After searching several other rooms, she found him in the gym, he was on the treadmill. She guessed he was trying to let out some steam.
“Derek” she called his name in a quiet voice
He turned off the machine and wiped his face with a towel. He walked towards her and stopped when he was in front of her.
“Derek, what’s bothering you?” she asked cupping his face.
He placed a kiss in the palm of her hands and she couldn’t help but shiver at the contact. She then wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Talk to me. Please” she pleaded
Derek’s eyes was filled with undescribable hurt. She felt useless for not being able to tell what was really wrong with him, she felt like a terrible girlfriend. Derek still didn’t say anything, he just wrapped his arms around her waist and slowly leaned in, placing a soft kiss on her lips. The kiss was soft and slow until it turned passionate and intense. His hands found its way to her thighs as he caressed her to arousing heights. He carried her as she wrapped her legs around his torso and slowly lowered them. He gently placed her on the floor and pushed her dress above her hips while placing soft kisses on her neck. She moaned in pleasure as his lips worked wonders on her skin. He slowly removed her panties, trailing his fingers between her thighs before inserting them one after the other inside her. She fisted her fingers in his hair from the pain and pleasure he was giving her. When Derek was done pleasuring her with his fingers, he made sweet love to her.
