Chapter 62: Chapter 62
RUBY.
I woke up cuddled in Aiden's arms with the light streaming into the room from the large windows on both sides of the room and the french doors that open up to a small back porch. The view from our room was gorgeous with miles and miles of green. The first thing I felt lying in his arms with his face so close I could put my lips on his was contentment and I would have kissed him awake too if the guilt didn't come crashing in on me. I used to be a pretty straightforward person with solid ideas of right and wrong but then now all the lines are blurred.
I would have never believed it if someone told me I would be cheating on my husband but it's not cheating, right? Our case is different, we both don't want this marriage and we both agreed we could see other people. He has Yasmin and I have Aiden. Why this gnawing feeling? I suddenly pulled out of Aiden's arms, startling him awake. He mumbles a few incoherent words and cuddles back into the comfy pillows, I breathed a sigh of relief. I just wanted to be alone for a few minutes.
I headed for the small kitchenette in the corner of the room and brewed myself some tea I found displayed there. I sat at a small table in the kitchen area and waited in anticipation for my tea to come to a boil, it already smelt divine even before it began to boil and we were on a tea farm so I expected it would taste even better.
The whistling sound the kettle made alerted me that my tea was ready. I checked if Auden was still asleep and saw that he still lay on the bed the only motion coming from him was the steady up and down motion his chest made as he breathed in and out. I poured my tea into a large mug and added a generous amount of honey and took a sip of delectable tea. When I opened the French doors I found that the air outside was chiller than I expected it to be but I ventured further anyway and settled on a rocking chair. I sipped on my tea, rocked away and just enjoyed the moment. The chilly air and the morning sun against my skin helped me tremendously.
"Enjoying the morning sun," I heard Aiden say as I came fully awake. I must have fallen asleep because now the sun was up higher and the weather was much warmer. I sat up straight in the rocking chair and my feet kicked the mug I had discarded in front of me.
"Easy there," Aiden said and picked the mug up. He is fully dressed now so I must have slept for a while.
" Good morning," I mumbled.
"Good morning Sunshine, breakfast awaits us in the dining hall."
"You can go ahead of me, I'll join you after I've showered and dressed."
"Is everything okay," he asked out of the blue.
"Yh, everything is fine."
"Okay then, I'll see you in the dining hall."
I stood up reluctantly after he retreated and headed for the bathroom. I got ready as quickly as possible and headed for the dining hall. The dining hall was as cosy as the rest of the house. It had a homey feel to it.
"You should have started eating without me," I said when I noticed that he was not eating yet.
"Nonsense," the lady who owned the inn said coming in with a plate of food." The gentleman must always wait for the lady."
"Good Morning," I greeted.
"Good morning Mrs Daniels, how was your night and how is the little one doing."
"We are doing fine, please call me Ruby," I answered.
"Good to hear, enjoy your meal, everything else on here is sourced from our farm and neighbouring farms. So you can trust it's wholly organic," she said before leaving the room.
When we finished our meal we went on a lively tour of the farm with the owners. They taught us how to pick tea leaves and gave us a brief history of the area with the names of all the plants and their various origins.
"We should head back now, I think Ruby has had enough for today," Aiden said and everyone agreed with him so we headed back to the inn where a hearty lunch was waiting for us. After lunch, I had a quick nap while Aiden worked on his laptop before we headed out again.
"This feels so good," I said, I was currently having a pedicure and a foot massage at a luxurious spa close by. The tea mask I had on my face was so relaxing, according to them they sourced raw materials for their products from the tea farm and other farms nearby.
"Yes it does," Aiden commented. We had an awkward moment earlier when we had to change into robes but Aiden was thoughtful as he always was, turned his back and waited for me to change. Immediately I changed into the comfy robe I scurried out of the room and he chuckled.
"This way," the attendant ushered us to a different room after we finished our mani-pedis. She handed me a damp warm towel to wipe my face mask off and I thanked her. The massage room had a great ambience with just the right amount of lighting. Various scented candles around the room added to the ambience of the room and also the pleasant scent it left off. On walking further into the room there were two massage tables, one was the regular type while the other had a cushioned belly cut out. I dipped my hand in to feel the inside of the cutouts and it seemed comfy.
"If you will just take off your robes and lie down your masseuse will be here in a jiffy," the attendant that brought us here said before scurrying out of the room. Aiden took off his robe, leaving him in nothing but his briefs without a second thought. From where I stood I had a perfect view of his toned back and his backside before he laid face down on the massage table.
"Won't you lie down?" He asked, turning his head to face me.
"I haven't laid face down or up in weeks so it just feels a little weird to attempt," I answered.
"I'm sure it's perfectly safe," he assured me. I waited till he put his head back down before taking off my robe and lying face down.
Later that night I'm sitting on the bed with pillows cushioning my back, every muscle in my body feeling relaxed and rejuvenated from various spa treatments with Aiden beside me getting some work done on his laptop. I'm not ready to sleep yet and Aiden is busy so I decided to log into my Instagram, I didn't scroll for up to five minutes before I received the shock of my life.
