Chapter 24: Chapter 24
Sheila's POV:
He parked his car in front of the fine restaurant that I had been ever before. One of the chauffeurs came and opened the door for us, treating us as a VIP customer. The outer view of the restaurant was beautiful. On top of that, there was written "Shaliya's Restaurant" in a fancy letter.
"Shall we go?" He asked stretching his hand to hold.
"Hmm yeah." I held his hand and he directed me towards the table which was located in the corner of the restaurant near the window.
"Good evening Sir, Madam." A waiter came and greeted us politely. I gave him a smile while Karl nodded his head.
"What do you want to eat?" Karl asked me. I went through the menu and ordered the Chicken bog unable to find other dishes as special though they seem mouth-watering.
"One Chicken Bog," he told the waiter and he wrote down on his note pad before walking out of the way.
"Why you didn't order anything?" I asked out of curiosity.
"He knew what I usually order." He said casually as silently telling me that he was a regular customer here.
"Karl, nice to meet you. Long time to see. How are you?" Someone greeted him. I think he is a manager.
"I'm fine, Daniel. Is everything good?" He asked the guy named Daniel.
"Yeah! Everything perfect. Most of the customers liked our services. Especially our desserts are their favourite ones." He smiled and Karl nodded his head.
"Good. I won't bear if the same mistake happens on the next times and I won't hesitate to fire everyone in the restaurant." He said sternly.
Daniel gulped down and nodded his head. "Sorry, it won't happen." Then his phone started to ring and he excused himself before walking ahead but the exhausting sigh he let out doesn't unnoticed by me.
I furrowed my brows not getting anything. What happened here? Why he was nervous and why did he report everything to Karl as he owns this place.
"Karl, Do you know the manager here?" Finally, I let out my curiosity.
"Yeah, I know him. He is working for my dad." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Don't you think you were rude to him?" I raised my eyebrows.
"He deserved the cold treatment. We lost great opportunities because of his careless mistakes. If I were the Old Karl, definitely I would have fired them." His facial expression hardened when he spoke.
I studied his features carefully as to how he clenched his jaw and fisted his hand. My heartbeat became to pounding fastly against my rib cage, but he closed his eyes for a second and his body relaxed.
"Sheila." He called my name. "I own this restaurant. Shaliya is my mom's name. I see this as my mother, If they bring any bad name to this restaurant, I can't bear it as simply sitting and pretending like nothing happened. That's why I was rude to him. He wanted to know how special this restaurant to me."
I hummed in response and nodded my head as a comprehension. There is no doubt, he is a mamma boy.
The waiter came and set our food on the table. I took the spoon from the table and put some rice on the plate before tasting the scope of food.
"Hmm.. amazing..." I moaned.
He gave me a small smile then started to dig his food. "Karl, what is this?" I pointed my fork at his food.
"This is the Hawaiian haystack, my favourite meals. If you want you can try this."
"Maybe next time," I told him and continued to eat my chicken Bog.
After finishing my Chicken bog, I ordered a Chocolate cake for dessert. "What a combination?" He asked and I shrugged my shoulder. Well, I like chocolate cake.
As I was enjoying my dessert, a familiar smell filled my nostril causing me to look at his plate. "Karl, what are you eating?" I asked eyeing his bowl.
"Crab Soup."
My mouth watered by the mention of crab. I like Crab. It's my favourite. Well, I have so many favourite foods on my list.
"So you provide seafood also." I raised my eyebrows.
"Hmm yeah, People love to eat seafood from here." He replied honestly, very proud of himself.
He smiled at me when he caught me eyeing at his bowl. "Sheila, if you want I will order one for you." He offered.
"No Karl. My stomach is full." I protested.
"Can I have a taste please," What seemed to be a little second later, I asked unable to control the craving for the Crab soup.
"Of course, it's my pleasure." He pulled the bowl towards me and to say the taste was awesome, it brought the memories of my home.
"So, what's your Plan Karl? How are you going to fix the problem?" I asked once we finished our meals.
He leaned on the chair and played at his finger-ring. "After finishing this semester I have planned to go to London. Then I will join the same college where she is studying and try my best to seek her forgiveness and will win her heart and make her mine." He said sincerely deep inside his thoughts as he was picturing whatever he said.
"That much confidence?" I teased him.
"Yeah! It came after you accept my apology." He gave me a toothless grin.
As we were continuing our talking, my phone vibrated in my purse frequently but I ignored it and carried on the talk with him even though my mind asked me to attend the call.
"Sheila, you can answer the phone, the poor guy is calling for you a while."
I narrowed my eyes at him. "How do you know who is calling?"
"A blind person can tell what is happening between you two. See, don't ignore your feelings towards him whatever happens in the future. As you say everyone deserves a chance. So give him a chance when he needed it. You two are perfect. He is born for you." He stated.
I almost stared at him for a second like he was an Alien who escaped from another planet and came here to kidnap me. "It's not like that Karl, we are... are .. just... we.." I let out a defeated sigh.
"Just admit it, Sheila. You can't fool yourself. I can see it in your eyes as how much you cared for him. He will do anything for you. If he wants he will go to the edge of the world to have you in his arms." He said while rubbing his jaw where he had a bruise.
"You know what, when you fell on the road he was the one who admitted you in the hospital."
"What do you mean?" I furrowed my brows.
"Yeah, that day you stubbornly went out of my house even when you hurt your foot. I was worried about you, So I followed you and when you were about to fell down I saw him running towards your side. He was the one who pushed you aside and saved you from the accident."
"You mean he admitted me to the hospital on that day and paid my bill?" I asked in disbelief. He nodded his head to confirm what I was thinking is right. Oh, God!! Then why didn't Harry mention anything before?
"Karl, why all of a sudden you changed? I mean you are hating him, aren't you?" I can't help but ask and as a response, he simply shook his head.
"Who told you? I used to hate him but not anymore. He was the one who taught me a lesson."
Which lesson?
"When he was fighting for you, I learned one thing that if you fight for a thing that you need then you will have it in the end even the world would turn against you. It may be a thing or-- a girl." He muttered under his breath.
I squeezed his hand as a comforting zone sensing what he meant. "If you truly love her, fate will pair you together. But please don't force her, if she doesn't want you then just leave her. If we really love someone wholeheartedly then their happiness comes to our first priority than anything." I said as I was an expert in this subject.
He nodded his head but said nothing. His eyes fell on my hand and his face dropped down. "I'm sorry Sheila, I caused you pain again." He mumbled.
"Karl, it has nothing to do with you and you have not done anything. So stop acting like a big guy. Shall we go? It's getting late." I asked.
"Sure." with that we went out of the restaurant and hopped into his car.
I wanted to tell him that I'm not living in my hostel when the car came to near the street, but to my surprise, he didn't stop the car and continued his driving.
"He may know where I'm living." My inner mind assured.
He stopped the car once we reached the house. I thanked him and when I was about to go, he called out my name and took something from the back seat. "Take it. It's for you." He handed me an Orange colour file.
"What is this, Karl?" I asked him confusingly.
"Open it. You will know." I opened the file and took the bunch of paper what seemed like a document.
My eyes widen in surprise when I realized what it was. I wanted to cry at that moment. "Karl, How it's poss..." My voice shuttered.
"Yeah, it's yours. I didn't burn them. They were the duplicate copy of yours." He said smiling all the way looking at my teary eyes.
He is not bad at all.
"Thank you, Karl." I hugged him and he returned the hug back.
"Good night Sheila and one more thing I would do the same if I were his place. So don't make things worst."
I nodded my head even though I have no idea what he was talking about.
"Good night, Karl." I hopped out of the car and stood there until his car faded out of my sight. Heaving a heavy sigh, I entered the house not in the mood to face him.
"Sheila," Harry called out once I entered the living room and I facepalmed. He was standing in the middle of the living room wearing his pyjamas, together with the worried expression on his face.
His eyes soften when his sight fell on my hand. "I'm sorry, Sheila ---" He began but I cut him off in his mid-sentence.
"It's okay, Harry. Leave it. It's already done. Good night." I mumbled and walked towards my room, hoping he would follow me, but he didn't.
I finished all my routine and laid down on the bed. "Give him a chance when he needed, I would do the same if I were his place. So don't make things worst." His words are currently playing on my mind.
Why did he say those words?
Even though Karl was talking on his favour, I'm not going to forgive him easily. Goosebumps are still rising in my body when I recall the morning incident.
He is soft to me but at the same time rude to others. He needs to control his anger and I will teach him how.
