Chapter 20: Chapter 20
Sheila's POV:
"Harry, I can't take it. You already did a lot to me. I don't know how I am going to repay for everything. So please don't force me into this." I pleaded.
He let out a long defeat sigh before pulled his hand back. "Okay fine." Then he raised his hand and palm up gesturing me to give him my phone.
I furrowed my brows but gave it to him anyway. I wonder why he asked for my phone. Does he angry for I didn't accept his new phone and going to break mine?
He smiled at me by witnessing my confusing state. "Don't worry I won't break it. Since it is your sentimental gift I'm going to fix the problem."
"Harry it's not possible. I already gave my phone to many shops for repair, but they all said it's not possible because the circuit in the mobile pad was totally damaged and it cost a lot to replace. It's better to buy another phone." I heaved a defeated sigh.
He shook his head disapprovingly and then tucked his lips upwards. "Nothing is impossible in this world. Just give me a day, I will repair your phone." His voice portrayed a fist of confidence.
"Are you going to replace the circuit? It's also cost a new phone. There is no difference between buying a new phone and replacing the circuit. So give me my phone back." I insisted.
"Can you please listen to me at least for a time?" He asked, raising his lengthy eyebrows.
"Okay, I'll listen." I folded my arms across my chest and waited for his explanation.
There is no way I'm going to let him spend his money on this. For God's sake, it's my problem. I will deal with this! Somehow he read my mind and started to explain further. "Kevin has some stocks in his box. I think I can use one of his tools, it may fix the problem." His eyes twinkled when he spotted my awestruck face.
Kevin! You really are a genius.
"This is the old model phone, most probably 80's kids will use. So looking for the circuit is waste of time and I'm damn sure it would be not available in any of the showrooms. It's a simple matter. I can handle this. Are you okay with this?"
I nodded my head slowly, unable to resist him. He smiled showing his cute dimples. How did he know all these things? Without opening the part, he found out what was damaged inside and gave me a solution.
Great...
After that, we had breakfast in their living room before heading to college. I wore Quinn's blue jeans and purple colour tank tops which perfectly fit me.
Harry offered me a ride which I gladly accepted. If I say no he would fight for the answer 'yes'. So it's better to comply with him. That's what my heart also wants.
Once we reached the parking area, I saw all pairs of eyes are watching us intimately. Some of them had a curiosity look where some of them had a disgusting look. He ignored all their stares and laced his fingers to mine with that we walked towards the hallway.
"See you later." Harry dismissed me before he enters the gent's bathroom.
Meanwhile, a worried Tammy came out of the restroom and inquired me about the fire accident and I explained everything to him. When he saw Harry is walking towards us, he said quite a goodbye and walked away.
"I thought you left for your classroom but seems you are flirting with your old friend." He huffed; annoyance is crystal clear on his face.
What is his problem? Tammy is my best friend. I can't ignore him just because he hates his gut.
"He is my friend. Don't forget that." I mentally rolled my eyes before heading to my class. Sometimes he forgets the fact that he is not my boyfriend.
As usual, I found the lecture was boring and checked my watch every now and then, and a satisfied sigh let out of my breath when the time clicked 4O' clock.
I went to the parking area where Harry strictly instructed me to meet him and there he was leaning on the wall with his one leg crossed, his hands buried into the pant pocket. He was in his deep thought that he didn't notice me walking towards him.
"Hey." I waved my hand in front of him to bring him back. He smiled at me and directed me to his car.
"Harry, what were you thinking earlier?" I asked once we hopped into his car. Instead of answering me, he took my hands with him before started to drive the car with his one hand.
"It's nothing, I just thinking of you." He uttered casually.
I blushed with his statement. I can feel something is going between us but I don't know whether it is a friendship or more than that.
He parked his car in front of the mall and I looked at him confusingly. "Harry, we are supposed to go to your house but why are we here?" I asked although I know the answer.
"Well... I planned to go for some shopping and I think today is better." He explained.
"Ohhh..." Was all I managed to mumble but why I'm not convinced by his answer?
He dragged me into the mall before I could ask any questions and we both ended up in the dressing session.
I narrowed my eyes at him but he completely ignored my stares and asked me to select a dress for Quinn.
"Quinn." I furrowed my brows.
"Yeah! Quinn. Her birthday is coming soon. I want to give her something memorable. But I have no idea what she likes. So to buy her a dress is a nice option, isn't it?" He asked and I nodded my head.
"So don't waste your time and select a dress for Quinn." He pulled me towards the dressing session.
After the fine two hours of hunting good dress for Quinn, he asked me to wait for him in the lobby and it's been 30 minutes since I have been waiting for him in the reception.
Why did it take him more time?
Losing my patience I decided to go back to the billing session but he wasn't there. As I was wandering around the mall my sight fell on the familiar figure who has long wavy brown hair. Her back was facing me so I couldn't able to see her face but I can guess who she was.
But what is she doing here?
I took a step forwards to call her but a hand grabbed my shoulder. "I'm looking for you for almost an hour, Sheila. Where you have been?" He asked and before I could explain he dragged me out of the mall.
"Harry, I think I saw Quinn there." He glanced at me but again focused on the road. "It may be a misunderstanding. She went to a movie with Kevin." His focus was solely on the road.
"But I saw her." I protested.
"Did you saw her face?"
"No." I shook my head even though he can't see me. He is so careful when it comes to driving.
"Then how come you can say it was her?" I let out a defeated sigh. He has a point.
When we reached the house, I took all the bags from the back seat and hopped out. I did some shopping for myself since all my belongings were gone.
"Harry-" I stopped in my midst when I watched him struggling to carry all the bags in his arms.
Seems he purchased a lot. But why? He has plenty of clothes and Quinn has so.
"Hey, Sheila." Quinn came and hugged me once I enter the living hall. I hugged her back and set the bags on the floor. I stretched both my hands up and bend my hips to left and right.
Quinn noticed a struggling Harry and walked past me. She helped him to carry the bags and set them all on the floor.
"What is this, Harry?" She asked confusingly, somehow it looked like not real. Why should I'm thinking this way? I shook my negative thoughts.
"Quinn it's all for you." Harry pointed the bag on the floor.
"Why?" She asked while I walking towards my rooms to change my dress. I washed my face and tied my hair for a neat bun. I finished all my regular routine and when I thought to go to bed I heard a loud voice from the living room like a war is going to begin. I strode out of the room as fast as I could and there I saw Quinn and Harry were arguing as Quinn was yelling at him where he seemed in frustration.
"What happened guys?" I asked once I reached the living room. Quinn snorted and folded her arms against her chest before she angrily glares at her cousin. I wonder is this how they usually do.
"Are you going to tell me or not?" I asked her again.
She let out a long sigh and began to explain everything. I bit the corner of my lips to connect the possibilities of all the dots. What if he, no... no... no... What if they did it for a purpose?
I looked between them trying my best to find any clue. But no vain. One has an angry reaction while another has irritation. Kevin came out of nowhere and stood between them like a Jeffrey.
"I think it is a waste of time arguing with each other. Why don't we return the bag back to the mall and buy another exact for her size?" He suggested.
"Yeah, good idea! I agree with him." Quinn glared at Kevin saying If you have any brain in your skull, you don't speak like that.
"Why Quinn, He is right, we can return these dresses and buy another." I voiced out.
"Did you see the tag on the dress?" She pointed a finger towards the dress.
"No." I shook my head. "Then just take a glance over it before you speak." I took the dress in my hand and facepalmed. 'Not For Return' was written in block letters along with the price tag.
"So, what are you going to do? We can't waste these dresses, it's worth the cost." I suggested.
Harry seemed to think a bit and came towards me. He took both hands and raised in the mid-air. "Why don't you keep this? It will fit you." His eyes shone with a victory where I looked at him in disbelief.
Quinn clasped her hands like a child and ran towards me. "Yeah, he is right. It will fit you. You can have it. Please say yes, otherwise I will go crazy. Just imagine how I will look like when I wear these tight clothes. I will die of lack of oxygen. I can't even take a single breath. Please save me, Sheila. You are my saviour now." She pleaded.
"I can't, Quinn. These are a lot." I tried to point out.
She glanced back at Harry and began to yell at him. "That's why I told you to throw these dresses and get rid of the problems."
"Quinn, are you serious?" I looked at her like she was coming from another planet.
"Then tell me, Sheila, what can I do? You do not even accept this dress. Then who will be, it's better to throw the dress." She said frustratingly.
"Okay fine, I will have this. Please don't argue further. It's already too late. Shall we eat? I am dying of hunger." I lied to divert her mind. Harry and I already ate before we reach the mansion.
"Yeah sure, Sweetie." She hugged me and took all the bags in her hand before began to walk towards my room while here I'm suspecting their act. How it's possible...
"Thanks, Sheila, If you hadn't accepted these dresses, she would have smacked my head off." I half smiled at him and stood there awkwardly.
Once we finished our dinner which I barely lay a finger on the plate, we bid our good night and headed back to our rooms.
I looked at the bag and took the dress one by one. In no time my eyes widen in surprise. All my suspicions were proved right. These were the same dress I had gone through in the mall and the girl before I saw was absolutely Quinn.
These three planned the drama very well and fooled me. They know if they buy me a dress I would reject so they come with this idea.
But why?
'Because you are so mean to them.' My inner mind pointed out.
And I realised I have been so hard to handle, it's all because of the insecurities I had in my mind. I thought I was a burden to them but they proved me wrong. They were treating me as equal to them.
"I will change my behaviour for them," I said to myself before drifted into a peaceful slumber.
