Chapter 30: Chapter 30
Glaring pointedly at her half naked husband emerging out of the waters, Anahita sulked. To witness him raking his fingers through the wet heavy mass of thick hair wasn't as maddening as the brunette bevy gawking at him with their eyes hung out of the sockets.
"This man just can't cover himself." Anahita muttered angrily, rising to her full height and scuttled to the giggling mass of slim figures she was kinda jealous of.
"Hey girls!" She waved at them before pointing at Yuvraaj who was looking around for her. "He is taken. He's my husband." She made them known showcasing a jaw stiffening smile, contemplating whether she'll be able to restrain herself from doing something violent if they try to argue her.
"Oh! Lucky you." They mewed and waded away from the sight of an extremely irked wife.
A part of her was delighted that the most sexy tangle of limb belonged to her but the other part of hers was equally cursing her to ask him to tag along in the beach when she knew that clothes didn't fit well with Yuvraaj. He itched to take off his shirt and display his body. Then again the fact that he did have a body worth ogling was not helping her anyway.
Slumping her shoulder down, she staggered to her lounge chair and plopped down. In no time, Yuvraaj trudged to her, mirth radiating from his body as he winnowed his hair, sprinkling water on her.
"That was so much fun. God! I missed ocean." He said cheerfully, squeezing himself beside her and Anahita glared him sideways, "I can see how happy you are!"
Glancing over her, he dried his hair with the towel, "What's with you and that tone?"
"Nothing."
"You want me to wear shirt in water, don't you? C'mon! Who does that?" He talked sense judging right but Anahita looked away and a delighted smirk formed upon his lips as he roved his finger upon her jaw and tilted her chin, "You jealous?"
She scoffed, pushing him back, "Puhlease! I am not."
Yuvraaj sprawled beside her, resting his head upon her lap, "I know you are. You see, if i had such a hot and handsome husband, I would've been jealous too. That's a common thing and you're not at fault because we are suppose to be possessive if we have something extraordinary."
Anahita gaped at him, "Gosh! Where have you earned this perkiness, Yuvraaj?" Her fingers found their way in his damp hair and she played with his tufts, giggling.
"Tired?" She dropped kisses on his forehead as he laid resting his head on her lap, closing his eyes. He uplifted his head as Anahita bended to kiss his forehead again and her lips brushed against his. Surprised, Anahita widened her eyes, remaining in the same position and looked around. "Yuvraaj....there are people watching us."
Blinking his eyes adorably at her, it took just one swipe of his hand to make a see through curtain of her hair over them that actually hid their faces and he winked at her. "Problem solved. Now shall we...." His palm rested over her head pressing her down but she placed her palm over his lips.
"You're incorrigible." She murmured before flicking her hair back and leaned back on the lounge, making Yuvraaj sigh, "Great! Come closer to your man and then run away as if he has plague. Do you know you're jabbing my ego, Mrs. Prakash?" He asked tracing his fingers on her neck and she bunched them up as they began to travel south, "Don't worry, Mr. Prakash, your ego is infinitude and even if I jab it, it won't end."
"Since, I am not welcomed here.." Yuvraaj got up, ruffling his hair, "I'll resort to blue water. Do you wanna join?"
"No thanks!"
"C'mon Anahita, aren't you the one who threatened to poison me if I didn't take you to beach, so what are you waiting now?" He threw the towel on the chair and pulled her on her feet.
"Um...I need to change for that."
"What?" His eyebrows inclined as he looked at his wife, ducked in a short crop top and shorts which he allowed just because it was beach and he didn't wish her to look out of place. "Why do you want to change?"
"Duh! Look at everyone. I can't go in water putting this on, let me change in the signature beach uniform and then only I shall dip in the water." She said innocently, turning on her heels.
Bikini! She's going to wear that? Over my dead body. Yuvraaj groaned inwardly as the thought trespassed his mind and he scooped her in a back hug, making her surprise, "Dare if you think about it. You are not going to wear that."
Enjoying his misery, Anahita bit back her smile and craned her neck to see him, "Why? Everyone..."
"They are not my wife. You are my wife. Even though what you're wearing is maddening itself, I didn't object because it's a beach but bikini is something I will never allow." He snapped.
The overwhelming urge of bickering with him washed over Anahita as she faced him, swivelling in his grip, "Do you think I will allow you to state your opinion over what I wear or not? I will wear what I desire." She decided to have an argument since she missed it and the objective was to derive his funny reaction.
Unaware of her intentions, Yuvraaj glared her sharply, pulling her more close, "Try me, Anahita. If I see you in that crap, I swear to god, i will make sure that you roam stark naked in our bedroom. Trust me, I am very serious on this. I will not allow to look anyone at my wife with lust filled in their minds."
A full fledged O formed as Anahita's shocked state. She hadn't bargained for him to be so verbally...disoriented and the threat he gave, made her insides churn. She shivered in his arms and blood rushed to her cheeks. For a moment, she didn't match his eyes after idiot stunt she pulled.. As maddening as it was, she didn't feel the need to retort back and with the record to check, she was never been spoken to or treated likewise yet it felt so right to her.
As if she wished him to possessive of her, she wished him to be jealous, as if she wished him to admit how much she affected him.
"You're saying like you don't see women here wearing nothing but a chit of clothes?" She mumbled looking at his chest, which was surely not a smart decision but she couldn't match his eyes after his barbaric comment.
"Yes I did that." He sighed. "Okay, you want this conversation? Fine! I used to enjoy it all but before our marriage. I did look at them, I did have fantasies. Still, here's a difference, you're my wife but they are not. I don't even care if they roam naked because it is completely their wish but you are not allowed to wear something inappropriate. It can be consider as a control or oppression, simply, I would love to see you in that state but I would also make sure that no one else see you like that."
"I will never question your clothing until or unless you cross the limit of decency. Though I am not completely comfortable with your waist on display as many men might be seeing it," He lowered his eyes to her waist and stroked his hand, creating havoc in her senses, "But I can manage this much. I can't cover you in cloak just because I don't want anyone to see you or think of you. Yet again, this is the limit. A piece shorter than this and I will rip it off your body." The darkness clouding his eyes and Yuvraaj didn't bother to hide it.
"You're oppressive." She muttered, prying his hands off and in next moment, Yuvraaj hoisted up in his arms, "I have to become like that because you can't understand a thing without arguing. Aish! You bring out worst of me."
"But where are you taking me?"
"I'll give you a demonstration." He waded in the sea, slowly coming up to his waist and put her on her feet. Anahita gasped as chill water hugged her waist and sand sunk below her feet. Her palm abruptly gripped Yuvraaj's shoulder and she breathed out, looking in his eyes vibrant with joy, "This is so cold."
"See, water feels cold even if you're dressed up from head to toe, in shorts or in bikini." He glided his arms around her waist, crashing their fronts and kissed her forehead, "And I'll provide warmth if you're cold."
Time flew against their will enjoying and playing in the cold ocean and soon enough, Anahita was tired. Like a toddler, she uplifted her arms to get carried, "Piggy back ride till home. Please!"
"No way." He intertwined their fingers, pulling her to come out, "You are substantially heavy, you realise you told me that last when you checked you weighed forty nine. I think you've put on weight."
Rolling her eyes, Anahita took her heels in her hands, staggering to their Villa, "Pig! Can't even forget a thing." She ran to the villa and switched on the boiler. Taking her clothes with her, she escaped into the bathroom and got ready but when she came out, reciting the dishes to order for lunch, she didn't find Yuvraaj anywhere.
"Where the devil is he?" She padded to their deck and leaned against the banister, roving her eyes all around. Shaking her head, she herself ordered the food and waited for Yuvraaj.
***
"Oh, there you are!" Anahita stood up, munching on her pizza slice before toppling it on the plate. She rubbed her palm on her fancy pants and reached near him. "I waited for you but I was so hungry and this stuff is so delicious that I couldn't wait." She wobbled, pointing at the Chicken Scallopini, lasagna and Margherita pizza on the tray.
"That's fine." Yuvraaj shrugged, flinging his towel on the bed and padded to the table where the lunch was kept. "You remember the woman we saved last night?"
The woman you saved, right? She wanted to interject but nodded anyways, "Yes. What about her?"
"She brushed past me just now. We had a brief discussion. She was thankful of us to save her life. She really wanted to meet you but by then, you were here. So I told her that I will pass her greetings to you." Yuvraaj divulged casually plopping on the bed with head on his cross hands. He stretched out his hand to grab the bowl of lasagna and stuffed a spoonful of delicious pasta.
Anahita couldn't help but feel annoyed at the mention of that woman. She sat beside him, concentrating on her good. "So you were with her all this time?" She asked dryly, "And I was like a fool waiting for you here to join me for the lunch."
"No. I told you we brushed past briefly." He contradicted, "Besides, she was with her..."
"Trust me, I am least interested in listening whom she was with or not," Anahita cut it short, rolling her eyes. "And if you're done with the glorious details of your brushing past encounter then join me." She commanded, waving her hand and a very amused Yuvraaj grinned, crawling next to her, "Sure. Why not? I am famished anyhow."
The smile that had slipped down on her lips ascended with good spirits. She held out a slice for him snickering. Holding her hand and gaze, Yuvraaj took his sweet time to have a bite.
"Oh." He tapped his head. "We've an invitation from the hotel. It's a kind of celebrating the autumn and welcoming winters they say but the truth is, it's a ball for the guests." Yuvraaj filled her in while gobbling Chicken Scallopini, "Hmm...this tastes damn good. Can you take the pain to learn this recipe? I want to taste it more often."
"Sure." She gleamed, "You know I've learnt so many local dishes and I am planning to treat everyone once we go back. How's the plan?"
"Sounds good!" He exclaimed, "Only if you have learnt the right process. I don't want to be constipated for the rest of the week and of course, Everyone too doesn't want it." He chuckled making her slap her forehead, "If you don't pull my leg one day, you won't die. So you can try complimenting sometime, you know."
"For that you need to do something worthy of compliments."
"In your eyes, I don't think I will ever me capable of earning compliments because you are so full of you, Mr. Haughty." She scoffed, finishing up her lunch, "Which reminds me, we need to take gifts for everyone."
"Why?"
"Because it's a new place and everyone must be expecting us to return with something for them." She explained.
Chuckling, Yuvraaj shared his perception. "Of course, they must be but you know what, my sweet little wife, it's not gifts they are waiting for. It is something else." He winked at her and flicked her nose with his index finger.
Blush rose up to her cheeks and she got up, fixing her hairs, "Shut up and finish it soon because we've a lot of things to do." She feigned to hide the fluttering in the pit of stomach of her. Ridiculous it could sound but she adored the idea of having a mini version of Yuvraaj.
Yuvraaj was keeping his eyes at her and smiled shaking his head at her visible coyness. Anahita came back from the bathroom a little sooner than he expected.
"What do you want to buy for baba?" She asked while making bed.
"I don't know...something like a shirt or wristwatch." He answered lazily chewing his lunch and glanced up at her, "What about baba?"
"Huh?"
"Your dad I mean." He started softly and the shine in her eyes disappeared. Her hands clutched the bedspread tightly and she pursed her lips. "I don't know." She looked down at her hands, "I appear to understand that I have never known my dad. I don't know what he likes or not, so pick whatever you want to." Her eyes glazed but she hid it with a plastic smile.
Intending not to portray himself as sympathizer, Yuvraaj nodded silently. He knew that her relationship with her father was in tight spot. He curbed the decision with, "Then it is decided. You shop for ladies and I will fix something for men."
"Okay!" Anahita acquiesced but she was shaken from inside. Her willpower of keep fighting with everything finally came to an end. Entire life she followed whatever her father asked, she never complained. She was regretting her decision of not trusting him with Yuvraaj but couldn't he extend an olive branch to her?
She was the daughter after all. The estrangement her father had established made Anahita break into miniscule fragments. She was alone and the only person who was standing by her without expecting anything was Yuvraaj. He stuck to her when he had options and reasons to walk away. He brought happiness to her with little means, he taught her the best lesson of life that is trust. He gave her the chance to choose her freedom.
Without promising anything, he bestowed her with everything. Within fights, he hurt her but he was the healer himself. He had developed himself as a better person for her because now he was compelling her to voice her opinions.
She dragged her gaze at Yuvraaj who was having his lunch unaware of her thoughts. Exhibiting a teenager with her actions, she grinned cheekily acknowledging her feelings.
