Chapter 18: Chapter 18
"Extra rooms? Why extra room?" Anahita queried confusingly looking at the customers details register that Yuvraaj was filling even after being confirmed of their personal open villa boat.
Yuvraaj didn't even bother to glance at her back and after filling in details, he passed back the register to the receptionist, she took it politely and asked them to wait for a while till she fetch them the key cards. Reception at LA Cassita hotel had always been as crowdy as the railway station, you wouldn't know when you're being dragged from one corner to another. Decently, of course.
"I asked you something, why another room? You told me we have villa boat." She asked again softly, knowing completely well that he might have heard everything at the hotel there and judging from his temperament, it was very certain that he must've been boiling inside now.
The very uncertainty of her troublesome had to be alleviate somehow and it would be good if she came clean but his silence wasn't helping her.
Anahita cleared her throat once again, "I asked you.."
"That why am I booking for another room? Right?" Yuvraaj asked harshly, making her jump in surprise catching eyes but she composed herself and nodded.
Exhaling deep, Yuvraaj shoved his hands in jean pockets and snapped, "For your boyfriend. Since you were missing him too much and my presence must be suffocating you, I thought to deliver some relief. You can move in with him, I won't mind."
His voice was so loud and clear that it made wasps of heads turned to them, Anahita looked around in embarrassment as she sensed eyes on them; particularly on her. She began softly, "Yuvraaj...I didn't..."
"No..hear me first. Now since you've asked me let me make it clear, the only reason of my persistence to bring you here was just to shield my family from getting hurt furthermore." He continued, not paying heed to the gasps people let out on this blunt remark as he proceeded, "I knew it from the beginning that you're going to elope with your boyfriend and that would pain my family, they would blame themselves for trapping me in something as trivial as this marriage and I wouldn't want that. Hence, you're here. Now you're free to live with him. I won't bother you anymore and my family would be happy as well."
Tears surfaced in Anahita's eyes. She couldn't bear his acidic words against her. So true were they but she never expected him to humiliate her publicly by stigmatising her like this, broaching their personal matter and literally painting her characterless.
"So, this was the reason. You brought me here so that I can elope with my boyfriend." She repeated, processing the words and clenched her fist hard, looking in his eyes, penetrating his soul, "What will you tell them you when you go back?" She bitterly asked, desperately hoping that he would not say anything that would hurt her more than his harsh act.
"Anything. Anything but the truth." He enunciated, clapping his eyes over the desk to the receptionist who was busy staring at them in shock, her hand still in the key card wallet and her lips parted in a perfect O.
"My card please!" Yuvraaj's stern voice flabbergasted her and she handed him the cards, apologising. "Sorry Sir, here's your card."
Receiving the cards, Yuvraaj swivelled one of them at Anahita, "Take this and go to the room. Do not forget to call Mukund, because here I'm done with the responsibilities." He punctuated, arrogantly and walked away, sparing her the last glance.
Something broke in his heart as he saw a tear drop dribbling onto her cheek and her lower lip tightly tugged between her teeth, depicting how hard she was trying to curb her sobs. He knew it. His conscious spanked him umpteenth time for losing his temper. Despite it, he refused to be affected and dragged his reluctant feet towards his booked villa.
Flinging out his luggage in anger, Yuvraaj sat on the plush bed. The silence dwelling in the suite added insult to his injuries. He wanted to hurt Anahita and since he accomplished the mission, he should be happy. Satisfied maybe, because it had happened to revitalized his bruised ego that she was brutal massacring since their marriage and she completely tore his soul when he heard her conversing with her boyfriend. The wound could only be healed by inflicting the same amount of pain to her but this would be punishable to him as well, Yuvraaj didn't ever bother to comprehend it.
After a shower and cups of black coffee, he seemed to trace the discomfort in the desolately silent Villa and planned on to trudge out. More or less, an excuse to glance at her. He covered his upper naked beauty with linen peach shirt and bit the bullet that no matter what, His heart was going to suffer a lot in this ruse. Three minutes and he found himself at her doorstep, contemplating whether to knock or just reassess his actions once before put into action.
A thought of going back rushed in his mind. He kept staring at the closed door. Contemplative, he lifted his hand and knocked on the door.
Once. Twice. Thrice.
Fortifying himself to be subjected to her wrath, he stood squared up and sighed when he didn't get any respond. Shoving out his cellphone, he messaged her, 'Open the door'
Ten seconds passed, she didn't bother herself to reply to his disquieting text. Angered and disarranged, he allowed himself to type again, 'I won't repeat myself'
Now the passing time started to get on his nerves, he was aware that he was at fault but she wasn't naive though. She should've let him be and stopped prodding about why he booked extra room. She was doing it since the moment they stepped out from Rome's border.
Unnecessarily pinging him to derive reaction.
"Anahita. Enough. Stop behaving kid. Open the door." He retorted, knocking on her door again. With the irritation, a slight reck of her wellbeing, flounced him up.
He knocked again and sensed eyes on him through passers by. They must be considering him as a choirboy. Groaning inwardly, he typed, furiously, 'One minute and I'll barge inside and drag you out in whatever condition you are. Open the door.'
Sure of his threat to be work and to treat it as the possible alternative, he called the bellboy and asked for the duplicate key, excusing that he had lost the card but in the meanwhile, Anahita opened the door, shouting at the instant, "Why the fuck were you bothering me? I am not staying with you, happy? You don't even have to fucking responsible towards me, get that! Now get lost."
As soon as she was done spatting, she got pushed inside and the door got locked followed by an angry and humiliated Yuvraaj, he glared her with equal justice before noticing her red face and swollen eyes, probably because of the the constant crying.
Inhaling, he calmed himself and began, "Look, I am sorry. I shouldn't have done that. Stop crying and come with me."
"Don't bother." She hissed through clenched teeth and was about to push past him when he grabbed her wrist and swivelled her around, "I said I am sorry. Stop acting difficult."
"Why the hell are you sorry? You said nothing you didn't mean. That's what I am to you, a characterless bitch. Exactly that's what I am and I have no rights to complaint either because when my parents think of me like that, who are you then?" She pushed him.
"I didn't mean that. I don't think of you like that. I was angry, okay? I am sorry."
"Get. Out. I don't want to hear anything. Get out right away." She screamed, showing him the door and he covered his ears, shouting back, "Why the hell are you screaming? Am I trying to kill you?"
"You can't kill someone who's already dead." Hearing such a dramatic reply from her, he rolled his eyes and pressed his lips in a thin line to prevent his smile, "Alright! I won't kill you. Order food and eat something, I know you must be starving."
Anahita eyed him in disbelief, "What exactly are you? Just an hour ago, before thousands of unknown people, you made me a laughing stock by putting in me a characterless woman and now you're behaving as you care for me. That's why I hate you. That's the reason I can't stand with you. You're so calculative and cunning that no one wants to see through your façade and you easily pull off the task of playing victim."
"Don't blame it all on me. You should've thought about the consequences before badmouthing about my family." Yuvraaj lurched his shoulders.
"When exactly had I badmouth about anyone in your family?" She glared him, "I do accept, I hate you but let's not forget the fact that I have never harbor any bad feelings for Aai Baba or Gitika. I love them same as I love mom dad. You should check before blaming me!"
"For a moment, I will subside the fact why do you hate me and would ask what exactly did you mean by you were suffocating in my home? That I was forcing you? That you were dying there?" He scowled, repeating the words she'd said to Mukund.
"I have never expected mannerism from you but even if you were eavesdropping, why didn't you for once asked me what I meant?" She said, dropping on the bed. "When I said I am feeling suffocated that time I meant that the guilt of hurting them was eating me. No matter what I say, it doesn't change the fact that I was playing with their feelings and that was what killing me." She explained.
"And when I said you force me, I exactly meant what I said. You did force me to come here, though I know the reason now." She scoffed at the end.
"You know the reason?" He asked surprisingly.
"Of course, the whole Sardinia knows now. It must be epic that a husband brought his wife on honeymoon to let her stay with her boyfriend. I am afraid when can I get the calls from local paparazzi to brag about your generosity." She said sardonically.
Getting his guards off, he sat beside her, "I am sorry."
She shook her head, still looking at the ground, "You don't need to be Yuvraaj. I have learnt it now that you don't respect me, that you don't care about me as a human even. I had an idea that you must've heard everything and I wanted to clear it all but I had never thought that you would insult me like this. In public. Before people I don't know. That shows only one thing and that I hold no respect in your eyes."
"There's nothing...."
"Just go. I won't bother you. I am sorry that I ruined your life. I won't—" Before she could complete, a warm pair of plump lips falls on hers, making her eyes go wide.
It happened as a lightning bolt, either of them couldn't understand what was happening, their bodies reacting to each others on their own accord. Kissing her was never in the plan when he decided to apologize, responding him was not the reaction she planned to give.
Except their body made own protocols to follow and they became marionettes. It was not as easy as Yuvraaj thought to pull back and it was either not as bad as Anahita expected it to be.
A slow moan escaped through her lips as he sucked her lower lip with all of pent up dedication, her hands reached up to his collars, with a view to push him but all they did was to pull him in her more.
Much to his pleasure, his hands shot up to graze her skin under her top and his fingers fiddled with the edge, gawking the opportunity to slip in. Anahita's chest pressed against his sculpted one as she desperately tried to breathe within the kiss still not planning to push him.
Yuvraaj gripped her hair with one hand and accessed her head in more comfortable position, pushing her back on the mattress hovering her frame slightly. Anahita mewed annoyingly when he didn't allow her to run her fingers through his hair and held them captive above her head.
Drowned in passion, were they suppose to back off or go with the flow, the rational thought didn't knock them but the need to respire prodded them to break the kiss and they breathed sharply. Their chest colliding with each other every time they inhaled and their forehead resting against each other's.
Closing their eyes, still, they tried to come over the passionate inadvertent encounter, not making any effort to leave each other.
Yuvraaj, the first one to recover, slowly got up rubbing his face and pinched the bridge of his nose, cursing himself inwardly to lose control. He got to know that the situation he came to fix up had aggravated due to his reckless actions.
"Look, i—" He began, apologetically but she whispered, "You kissed me. Without my permission. How dare you?"
"That's what I was...."
"Get out." Steam blew off her ears and her face was red.
"You know what!" Yuvraaj got up, writhing in anger. "Leave it. It was my fault that I came up to talk sense in an extremely stupid girl. Good part, I am no longer guilt ridden because you don't —"
"I said get lost, you bastard." She howled, bawling her eyes out and Yuvraaj pressed his hand over her mouth, "Just shut up. I won't mind kissing you again if I have to close this filthy mouth."
He threatened her, making her eyes saucer. She protested, wriggling in his grip and shook her vigorously.
His eyes oozed lava, "What did I say about cursing? You're not allowed to curse me."
"You can kiss me and I can't even curse you. This is the second time you're doing something without my permission, how dare you bloody touch me?" She managed to get out of his grip and hollered, "You are allowed to humiliate me, You're allowed to treat me like a trash, you're allowed to see my tattoo even I don't want you to, you're allowed to kiss me without my permission but I am not allowed to curse you? Who made this fucking rule, Yuvraaj?"
"Why do you nail down me to do it?" He retorted back and she threw her hands in air, "I do it. I nail down you. God! Which drug are you High on?"
"Why the hell did you have to Marry me?" He couldn't help but ask again and she clenched her fist, "I am sorry. I did a grave mistake that i got married to you. Now what? Should I die because of it? Get one thing straight, Yuvraaj. I will do anything to be happy and if humiliating me can give you relief, do it. I won't take it as a grudge because I do believe that I am, to some extent, wrong to you but don't force yourself on me. You want to stay away, I will stay away. Now go and let me live in peace."
"Fuck off!" Yuvraaj hissed, clenching his jaw and stomped outside with a pledge to never see her again, not even when she would die.
