Chapter 11: Chapter 11
Yuvraaj clenched his jaw at the supreme insult. It was a hard blow to his ego. He knew he was handsome and that just didn't need any certification but the clear rejection on his face was a bit too brutal to bear.
"Done? Now get out of my way." Yuvraaj snapped, grabbing her shoulder and aside her.
Anahita turned to him, "Listen I don't care about what you wear and how. It's just as long as I am going to stay in your room. I want you to..."
"What you said?" Yuvraaj intervened, pondering. "My room, right? So the place where you are standing in my room." He looked around making Anahita frown.
"So?"
"Yeah so, if I roam around with a towel, I can because this is my room and if I fancy to roam striped, I can do that even." He smirked at her.
Anahita twitched her lips, "Disgusting!"
Yuvraaj whistled round getting ready and disappeared inside the wardrobe with his pants.
"A girl is living with you, have some decency." Anahita shouted.
"That girl is my wife!" Yuvraaj shouted back.
"Then this goes both ways. Even I can roam in a towel because you are my husband and legally, this is my room as well." She said in jiffy and her eyes widened the next moment. She wrapped her palm on her mouth but the damage was done.
Yuvraaj peeked out staring at her in disbelief, "My pleasure! I would really love to see you that way. Trust me you've just excited my imaginations."
He chuckled coming out and Anahita blushed scarlet, she immediately took her cellphone and waltzed out of the room, slamming the door behind her. Yuvraaj's faint laughter fell in her ears and she, herself, laughed at her stupidity.
Leaning against the parapet, she inhaler sharply to calm her fastened heartbeats and rubbed her cheeks to get rid of the uninvited red hue. That lucky cool breeze in summer morning caressed her face, letting all the tendrils blow on her face.
"Stupid! Idiot! Couldn't you shut your mouth at all? You just made yourself a fool before him and that dog is going to tease you for that all your life." She monologued, perplexedly.
All your life? Anahita, you're with him for five weeks only. Somewhere in her brain a prudent voice inferred.
"Yeah right! I'm not going to live with that leech all my life." She rolled her eyes, "Only four weeks and two days has left."
Thoughts led her to Mukund and on cue, her cellphone buzzed with his call. Anahita smiled glancing at the caller ID. Such an amazing guy, he never failed to call her.
"Hello!" Anahita took the call flaunting her perfect thirty two teeth. "I was just thinking about you."
"Thinking about me or missing me?"
"Missing you too much. Like always, you managed to talk to me." She whooped.
"That's called telepathy, baby. Anyway, I've a good news for you."
"Are you coming back?" Anahita jumped to conclusion. Her excitement drained out when she heard a painful sigh. "Er..no, I mean yes but not now. Anu, I will come but now is not the time."
"What's the good news?" She asked plainly, ignoring his words.
"Head of my department has decided to recommend my name for the promotion and I might be getting a hike in the salary." Mukund said enthusiastically.
"That's great. Congratulations!" Anahita congratulated stereotypically with no fervor in her voice.
"Anahita! You're not happy?" Mukund sensed the mirthless tone of hers.
Anahita sighed, rubbing her neck. "It's not that. I am happy but...what do you expect from me, Mukund? I mean like what should I do? Should I throw a party for your immense success or should I drum for it?"
"I at least, expected your heartiest congratulations! Perhaps I might be expecting much." Mukund chided.
"You know sometimes, I feel like a stupid to trust you. You just can't understand what's going on with me here. Mukund, I'm happy but I am not in a position to praise you. You have bigger commitments towards me than this shitty job. How am I able to congratulate you when I know that you will probably be more busy after promotion and I am still stuck in this mess." Anahita talked sense.
"I am sorry! Mukund apologized meekly. " I understand!"
"Sorry?" Sorry my ass." Anahita grunted. "Stop understanding and do something. On second thoughts, tell me if you're never going to come back. At least, I will try to befriend with him."
"With who?" Mukund sniped. "You're talking about your husband right?"
"Who else?"
"Anahita, listen to me carefully. If you tried to do anything with him, you will face the consequences. Don't you dare go near him, maintain your distance. Understand?" He warned.
"Why? And who the shit are you to tell me that?" Anahita snapped. "You can be possessive of me but you can't come right now and take me away. If you don't want me to do anything with him, just come back. Otherwise, I will..."
"Don't even think of it."
"Too bad for you but I have already started." She smirked.
"Anahita... I"
"Fine! Just come back soon. I will not do anything with him. This home is suffocating me, i don't want to stay here any longer." She looked around and painful lump formed in her throat. Deception wasn't her thing but she couldn't just open her mouth and she knew once she was gone, Mrs. Prakash would hate her same as her mother.
"I will come back soon but don't let him touch you. Not at all." Anahita sighed at his possessiveness. Who would say that he forced her to get married to another man?
"Nah! We're going to make babies just now." She quirked.
"Anahita!" Mukund gasped and she giggled, "Just kidding baby, I won't."
"Good!" He let out a relieved with, "So I'll talk to you later. Miss me and I love you."
"I love you too, bye!" She chipped.
"Anahita, are you sure, you're not forgetting anything?" Mukund teased.
"No, not at all." She played innocent, pressing her lips.
"Anahita please!"
Chuckling, Anahita brought speaker close to her lips and gave a long kiss. "Happy?"
"Much more!" She laughed hearing Mukund's grin on other side. Shaking head, she drew the call to a close and spun on her heels to go back to her room. Her eyebrows furrowed witnessing a completely ready and grumpy Yuvraaj behind her. Before she could open her mouth, he turner around and dashed away.
"Now what has bitten him? Argh! God! Why am I feeling that I'm out of the frying pan into the fire." She pinched her nose and followed Yuvraaj inside the bedroom.
"What has happened to you?" She asked once she put her foot inside. Yuvraaj was pacing back and forth like a raged bull, ready to attack on her. She stopped and glared her. Striding to her, he roughly grabbed her arm and pulled her aside before bolting the door.
"What the hell, Yuvraaj?" Anahita shouted rubbing her arm.
"If you want to talk to your boyfriend, do it here only. I don't want anyone to know about it. I'm very serious on this Anahita, hurt my family and I will kick you out without thinking twice." He snubbed.
"How dare you talk to me like that?" She scowled, "Fine. I accept I'm at fault but didn't i will tell you everything yesterday about why I had to do it? Then how can you treat me like a trash."
"Trash? I treat you like trash!" Yuvraaj exclaimed twitching his eyebrows, "It's you who did that. For your own stinginess, you propped me. You played with our family's emotions. You —"
"Stop blaming me, okay." She yelled pressing her ears, "Stop doing that. I'm tired of it." Her eyes pricked with tears but no chance she would let them ooze out, "You all are selfish. You all just care for yourselves."
"Anahita!" Yuvraaj greeted his teeth.
"No! When you've brought it up, hear me out. What you said I propped you right? Then what our families were doing? They were propping me to fulfill their bullshit promise. You said I didn't care about anyone's emotions, then tell me did they care about me?"
"It was your dad's fault Anahita. You can't blame me or my family." He seethed, clenching his fist.
"So what? I won't suffer for anyone's potential incapabilities. Call me anything because I care a fuck but I'm adamant on my decision. I'm out of this marriage after five weeks." She snapped scornfully, flaming his acrimonious nerves.
"That mouth!" Yuvraaj shoved her to the adjacent wall, trapping her body with his, "Where did you get this mouth from, ha? Curses and venom disgorges out of it only. Don't you do a filter before speaking your dense mind?" He howled, imbuing his onyx orbs in her frightened blacks.
"I..."
"Shhhh....." Yuvraaj pushed his index finger over her lips and his eyes rested on them, "Didn't I tell you that I don't appreciate this language? How'd you be so badmouthed? Baba is not like this, Aai is not like this either then how you can be so brusque?" His tone rather complaining than condescending.
Anahita dared not to look into his eyes and her breathe clotted where it was; almost in her mouth. No one; not even her dad had talked her like this till date. She wanted to rebel, she wanted to push him off but her limbs ceased. Her mind wouldn't work.
"Since i am your husband, I'll teach you some manners." He glanced back into her eyes and traced his thumb under her lower lip, "Next time, if I hear you calling me names. I will kiss you hard, completely neglecting the given scenario or time." He said calmly as the winds blows before storm.
A storm had commenced definitely, in Anahita's pit of stomach. Deep inside where she thought lived some butterflies that tingled whenever Mukund teased her, exactly, at the same spot, a whirl of desires churned up. Her insides did Summersault. Was she probably turned on by his words?
The answer was unknown to her. She gulped loudly as she scrutinized Yuvraaj's unwavering gaze at her. If she was frightened before, she was palpitating now.
"You won't do that." She whispered and a winning smirk crawled over his lips. Untethering her, Yuvraaj stepped back. "I will do that. Yuvraaj Prakash doesn't lie. You want to pose a challenge? Go ahead but the consequences will be painful for you only."
Punctuating his words he waddled out, leaving a flustered Anahita behind. Once again her cheeks were red and the reason was not the blush but anger. She wasn't getting why she let that man walk over her.
"That pervert. He'll kiss me? He'll kiss me? Yeah..right. Lay one finger on me, I'm gonna slay your head from your body" She clamored in anger stomping her foot.
"Anu, get ready fast. You've to go to your Maurya mansion today." Mrs. Prakash said over the breakfast table, pouring juice for herself.
"I don't want to go." Anahita mumbled, tearing a morsel of aloo parantha. All the eyes zoomed on her and Yuvraaj coughed bringing her attention on him. Anahita widened her eyes looking around and smiled at Mrs. Prakash. "Aai. You've always wanted me to come to you and stay with you forever and when I am finally here, you're sending me away. Did I do something wrong?"
Hypocrite! Yuvraaj sighed, mentally as Anahita succeeded in making everyone believe her. Mr. Prakash stroked her hair gently.
"Of course not majhi mulgi (my daughter). This is your home now but I don't want my friend to be deprived of her daughter's company. Sushant and Vahini must be missing you." Mr. Prakash smiled.
Anahita lost her smile and gulped, looking down at her plate. "I am sure they will be doing fine."
"Alka is going to complain a lot to me that I've house arrested her daughter." Mrs. Prakash laughed.
"I don't want you to go but this is a ritual." Mr. Prakash inserted.
"Fine! But baba, I'll be back today itself. I don't want to stay there." Anahita professed and everyone wondered why wouldn't she want to live with her family, Yuvraaj seemed to sense the changing atmosphere and he quickly concocted for acclimation.
"Why? Can't you stay one night away from me after last night huh?" He leaned towards Anahita and whispered in her ear, loud enough for everyone to hear. His family on table pretended that they heard nothing and let the couple enjoy a few moments of teasing.
Dunce as ever, Anahita couldn't dodge his ruse and was about to open her mouth when he placed his hand over her thigh under the table to extract her reaction. Anahita swallowed loudly, her eyes widened, her breath hitched and she blushed.
Her breathes quickened as Yuvraaj stroked the soft material of her Saree and smiled, victoriously. He only wanted to derive the reaction his family would want to see after his blunt remark but the fact that he actually had an effect on her was the icing on the cake.
"I'll....I will be..back." Anahita stammered, swatting his hand off and sprinted to her room while Yuvraaj engrossed himself in his plate again, not looking up as he was embarrassed but he couldn't help it.
Anahita had somehow always managed to place him in situations where he had to take charge.
