Chapter 17: Chapter 17
Remi popped out of nowhere. His arms went around Mila, leaning his body onto her.
Mila shrugged his arm and body off of her. "Get off. You're fucking heavy."
I turned around to leave them be. They're going to bicker again and I’m going to skedaddle so I could avoid the question that had been unanswered. Even though we all know who’s really my best friend.
"Ah-ah-ah." Remi stopped me. "Not so fast, buddy." I stiffened and I slowly turned around to face them with a look like a deer caught in headlights.
"What?" I muttered.
"You slept with him. Did you christen his tent?" Mila smacked his head while I smacked his arm. I made sure to put extra strength in my open palm.
"Ow?!" He exclaimed with a slight intonation. "I swear I'm going to be all beaten and bruised by the end of this year."
I scoffed. "You got a lifetime with Mila."
Remi looked at her as she gave him a fierce glare. His hands raised in surrender.
"But seriously," He said. "I thought you hated the guy."
"That doesn't matter now cause Kai has nothing to prove. We all know Keelan is nothing but a real sweetheart." Mila stated with obvious zest which made Remi’s eyes roll in annoyance.
I shook my head in disbelief. I whirled around and started to walk towards the rest of our friends. They both followed me.
"He's still evil." I eyed the two. "Like you two."
"Ugh, hello? The real evil ones here are you two. If my bruises and red marks from your stupid girly hands aren't proof enough, I don't know what is. Your hands look delicate but it hurts like a bitch." He exclaimed as he shook his head.
I jumped at Remi's back as I laughed. "Oh my god, Kyree. You're fucking heavy. Get the fuck off of me."
Mila stuck her foot out. Remi tripped over it. I let him go before falling with him. Unfortunately for him, letting him go meant adding gravity to his already falling state.
"Are you two fucking insane?!" He was kissing the ground while Mila and I were laughing, our stomachs' already aching.
"Holy shit, Rems. Are you okay?" Chris offered his hand to him and helped him up.
"You should be asking the two of them that. They need to go to a mental asylum." He grumbled.
Chris joined our laughter. "Dude, you're just easy to bully."
"I know, right? That's why we love him so much." Mila said proudly with a grin. Her arm went around Remi’s neck. He whined when she was almost choking her but she only grinned and kissed his cheek.
"Damn, Remi. You okay?" Ian asked just as he came to the scene of the crime. He was restraining his laugh, fist covering his obvious smile.
"I don't know, Ian. I think I want to punch someone's face right now. Come here closer, I feel like wiping that smile off your face." They started their banter and the playful punches. Remi was embracing Mila, making her as a shield at his friends' antics. I chuckled at their childishness.
"Ugh! They are such a bunch of boys." Ember commented beside me while rolling her eyes.
"Hey, we were the ones who tripped him." I said rather proudly.
Ember laughed. "I know. The guy deserves it. Remi and the others are always such a pain in the ass."
"Here." Jenny suddenly arrives with a toast in her hand. She passed it on to Ember. She thanked her and took a bite feeling satisfied. "Want some?" She offered me.
"No. I'm good. How did you make it anyway? We didn't bring a toaster." I asked, feeling curious and amused.
"Improvise, baby." She winked at me and I laughed. "I didn't know you were dating Keelan. Sorry if I was being a flirt."
My eyes widened as I blushed. I looked down feeling embarrassed. "Oh... it's okay." I don't know why I didn't even deny it but it wasn't entirely true… I guess.
"Damn. You must have a peaceful sleep beside him. I'm so jealous." Ember sighed dreamily.
I frowned. "Is he... that dreamy?" I asked seriously.
"Girl, what's your problem? Are you not that attracted to him?" She shook her head. "It's probably exaggerated but I'm pretty sure every girl in our university admired him. I mean Jen and I do. He's like a real gentleman. And believe me when I say this, we girls are attracted to bad boys."
"And Keelan is everything but." Jenny added. She sighed softly. "You're lucky. Your voice must have hit him hard." She teased with a bump on my shoulder.
I blushed. "Ahh... I never intended for that to happen." Suddenly being defensive. It was the truth though… or not. I mean I did sing the first night we met.
"Oh, shush, girl. If I have a talent like that, I'll use it wisely." Ember winked at me. Jenny and I laughed.
"I'm sure you do." Jenny remarked.
The sun was finally rising and we had a moment of silence and watched it reveal. It was beautiful. Everything that the world offers is beautiful and we get to stand here and watch and admire one of them.
I feel a presence behind me. I didn't acknowledge it at first but his arms went around me. His chest pressed against my back. I could feel him inhale my scent. He's always been doing that ever since our first kiss.
"Do I get to have a song with the sun?" He asked in a whisper.
"No."
"But that song was for me, right?" I knew what he meant by that. I remember how I was always looking at him while singing that Jason Mraz song. I turned my head to him, just enough so his eyes met mine while looking down at me.
I smiled. "No."
He chuckled as he kissed my cheek. I returned my sight to the sunrise. Not a second later, my eyes shifted to the person beside me. Jenny winked at me while wearing a playful smirk on her face. I looked down and blushed. I heard her giggle.
I can feel Keelan kissed my head before inhaling my scent again.
If I didn't know any better, he was addicted to me.
But somehow it makes me happy
