Chapter 32: Chapter 32

"Okay, it looks like we have a few options." What I say makes sense to him. We need to be sure of our plan before we go into the snake pit. "First, let's pretend I'm an exchange student from London who wants to go to a frat party." He laughs, but he gives a shrug.

"That's really not that bad." He says yes. "What else?"

"Two, you play the "I'm Kent" card and try to use your fame to get us as far as possible." He just shrugs when I tell him.

"Piper wasn't lying, those guys don't like it when you challenge them." He murmurs, and I nod to show that I agree with him. "But we can think about it as a back-up plan."

"Okay, for number three, we'll pair up with a group of girls waiting in line. This will make it look like you are bringing about six girls to the party."

"That seems like our best bet to me." When I smile, he nods. Let's give it a try. He sighs as he looks at the line of people. Our group of friends were waiting for Abby and her friends to return, so we were thrown into the pool by ourselves.

"What if we tried to get the cousin to come?" I ask. "Like, what if I'm your cousin visiting from out of town?" I give him an idea, and he groans.

"That sounds weird to me, and everyone on campus who sees you will know that's a load of crap." When he whispers, I nod. He did make some sense. "Why don't we try this with a group of girls?"

The only problem was that there didn't seem to be any groups of single girls in line. This was probably because the frat had already let those girls in. Everyone else was in groups of friends that included people of both sexes who wanted to stay together. No matter who we asked, no one was willing to leave their group. Only a few guys asked me out because of what I was wearing. I had to say no to them.

I sigh, "Oh well, I guess that didn't work out," and he nods. I ask, "Shall we move on to the British side?" He laughs, too.

"Hey!" I hear a friendly voice say, and right away a big guy in a frat t-shirt stands behind me. Accent, no accent. I nod in a weird way, and he smiles. "Beautiful, why are you still in line? "A party will happen." I take a deep breath when he says this with a smile that makes his jaw hang open.

He cut the blonde hair on top of his head short and used gel to keep it there. He smells like cologne and looks like the kind of guy who would ask why rich people should pay more taxes in a wealth and humanities class. I get along well with this guy.

"I'm just sitting here and waiting." I just smile and shrug my shoulders while crossing my arms behind my back. When I bat my eyes, he gives me a big grin. Men are so stupid.

"No, there isn't a line for girls like you. It is a different rule." He tells me, and I act like I'm flattered by making my eyes bigger. Usually, I didn't feel confident when I talked to guys, but the alcohol and adrenaline pushed me forward.

"Really?" I ask him by putting my hand on his shoulder, and he nods. "That's so sweet it hurts."

"I'm just looking out. If I didn't want to let you in, I wouldn't be much of a doorman." He tells me.

At least Piper was wrong. He didn't think I was ugly; he was just trying to get me to come inside.

"What's your name?" I ask him quietly while smoothing his shirt on his shoulder, and he clears his throat.

"Zack." He answers. "You?"

"Julianna." I also do that. "What year is it where you live?"

"I'm a first-year student, and I just rushed a couple of weeks ago." Oh, this is great, I can really use it. "Do you think we could stay inside and keep talking while I get you a drink?"

I sigh and say, "As much as I'd love that," but he looks confused and furrows his brows. "Right now, it seems like none of the boys are getting in."

"Why is that wrong?" I grab Kent by the wrist when he asks.

"I live with these people." When I tell him, his pupils get bigger, which shows that he is afraid of how big Kent is.

"Sorry, we're almost full right now, and your roommate has to pay." When he stutters, he clears his throat, and I sigh.

"I thought you were going to say that." I fake a sigh and a head shake. Kent laughs when I look up at him and say, "This keeps happening." "I just wanted to go out tonight, you know? But Kent was worried about me getting home safely, right? When I ask him, he nods and almost spits out his answer.

Wow, I had no idea this group could do all that.

"He decided to follow me home because he wants to make sure I'm safe. He's not here to have fun or mess with things; he's just waiting for me. How could I catch up to you if you're going to kick him out?" I'm being nice.

"Sorry, but I'd like to let you both in. "We're so close to being full right now," he says with a sigh and a shake of the head. "No girls are allowed in, I've been told."

Dammit.

"Why don't you break those rules?" I speak quietly and flutter my eyelashes. "Even for me?" That makes him choke up, and it makes me smile. "Zack, just do it." When I beg, I put my hands together and squeeze my breasts together.

"Well I-um "He sighs. "You're sure your roommate's just here to make sure you get home safe?" He seems to be asking, "Are you sure he won't get in my way?"

"Of course I'm sure." I wink. "Give it to me now." As I whisper, I take a pen out of my bag and click it open. He gladly puts out his hand, and I smile as I write a 10-digit number on a piece of paper. "That's my number, all right? Let us in?" He smiles when I ask.

"0-okay." He nods, as if someone had just asked a preschooler if he wanted his face painted.

He gestures for us to follow him up the stairs, and when I smile at Kent, he looks at me like, "What the hell just happened?"

"Thank you so much, Zack." I put my hand on his shoulder and whisper. He lets us through the door.

Kent comes in after me and puts his hand on the small of my back. He shows me how to get to the room in the back of the house that isn't being used. It almost looked like a place to hang out or study.

"Oh my god!" I jump up and squeal as I wrap my arms around his neck. "I can't believe that worked!" He laughs and pulls back, but by holding on to my waist, his eyes stay level with mine.

"Things can happen because of you." When he does, I smile. I realize all of a sudden that we're closer than we've ever been. "You really gave him your number?"

"Pft, no." I smile. "It's the number for the pizza place near my house. I'll be long gone by the time he figures it out."

"That's nuts!" I smile when he grunts. People are really attracted to you."

"Or wear too revealing clothes, it's always up for debate." He laughs when I just shrug. "Let's sneak out a window and take a picture," she said.

"This life of crime really suits you, doesn't it?" I grab his wrist and pull him out of the back room and into the main room when he asks. We each get a beer, and then I take a picture of us both with Solo cups in our hands in the kitchen. I give Piper a mean smile and send it to her.

Juliana (19:32) 11MAGE ATTACHMENT" "Suck it xx"

He laughs over my shoulder as we both drink our beers. He didn't want to stay, and neither did I. When we're done with our drinks, we go back to the empty study room.

He quickly goes to a window and opens it. It was big enough to sneak through, so I looked over my shoulder and nodded to tell him to do it now.

"That's a good jump, and if you want my help, that's fine." I tell him yes when he asks, and he jumps out. I hear a thud on the grass, so I stick my head out to look at him. Kyleg for himself. "Quickly." He won't give up, so I quickly reach down, take off my shoes, and throw them on the grass. I take one more look behind me, then hop to the edge and get out of the way.

When I'm jumping, he grabs me around the waist. We both lose our balance and fall down laughing in the wet grass.

"Thanks." When I take a breath, he nods. We didn't try to get away from each other even though we were right next to each other. "Thanks for all you did tonight, Kent." He smiles at me when I say it quietly.

"You're not weak enough." He says in a soft voice. "She is not like any other girl I know."

"Does that work for you?" He nods when I ask him quietly.

"It's good." He assures me. "Great, honey," she said.

When he said that, I realized I was on top of him and he was holding onto my waist. We used to be enemies, but now we're so nice to each other that I didn't even notice what happened.
