Maurvi's POV

I couldn't go inside like that... I have always been scared of horror movies...

What if a ghost is waiting for me inside??????

" Umm... can you please do me a favour?" I asked Gautam.

" What?"

"Canyoupleaseopenthemain

doorandthelightsofmyhouse? "

" What??? Speak with pauses Maurvi. " He looked confused.

" Can you please open the main door and the lights of my house? " he smirked as soon as he heard it.

" Why, Miss bold and beautiful?? " He was smiling devilishly.

Satan...

" Just like that... "

" So, are you flirting with me? "

" What?? No? "

" So why, a young and beautiful girl like you, is inviting a young and handsome man like me to her place at this time? Do I need to get scared? Is my honour safe with you? " He said by pretending to be afraid and crossing his hand in front of his chest...

I will surely kill him..... tomorrow or he will haunt me tonight...

" Oh please, stop being a drama queen, I just want you to open the door and switch on the lights. That's it. You are absolutely safe. "

" I will do that but first of all tell me, why do you want me to do that? " he said, wiggling his eyes.

" Oh fine, I am scared to go into my dark house. No one is there. Happy?" I said releasing my breath.

" Then, why did you finish the whole movie? Come I will switch on the lights for you. " He said with so much concern that I loved it.

He opened the door and switched on the lights.

I followed him inside. It seemed so stupid but what to do?? I was really scared. I am sure Gautam would think that I was still a child, but I couldn't help it.

He turned towards me and said, " Are you ok Maurvi?? You are looking as white as a paper. "

" Yes, it is just that I am a bit scared that I might have nightmares. "

" What?? Why didn't you tell me earlier? You didn't have to watch the movie. I am sorry, I didn't know, I was just teasing you. "

" No, I used to love watching horror movies but then I started getting nightmares. "

" What will you do now? "

" I will keep doing my college work and won't sleep. "

" That is ridiculous Maurvi, please sleep. You are looking tired. "

" I can't, You don't understand."

" Why didn't you tell me earlier?? "

" I didn't want you to think that I am just a silly scared child. " I said and then regretted that he might guess my feelings.

" What? You did that just to prove that you are not a child?" he asked and I just looked downwards.

" Oh Maurvi, I don't think that you are a child now, even if I try, I can't think that."

" Then what do you think?? " I just asked casually and he came a bit closer to me. My breath was struck in my chest.

"  You are a young, beautiful, bubbly, feisty woman, who is scared of the scary movies. " I know I was blushing.

Just then, all the lights went off. I got really scared... I mean power cut?? How?? We never had  power cuts in the last 5 years.  Why the hell did it have to happen today ? I was already scared as hell.

" Hey bhagwan aaj hi light jaani thi. Aaj hi bhoot ki movie dekhi hai maine? I hate you bhagwan ji. ( Oh God why this power cut tonight of all the days. I was already scared as hell because of that movie. I hate you God. )" I was rambling and he burst out laughing.

I was almost about to cry... Couldn't stay alone in dark. So I came very close to him. He placed his hand on my shoulder to comfort me, but I flinched and shrieked.

" Calm down beautiful... It was me. I was trying to comfort you. Don't worry I am here with you and I will fight all the demons for you." I could feel him smiling while he was speaking.

Yes why not?? You are a satan and  all the demons are already your friends.

Why did you dare me to watch that damn movie? Why the hell, did I have to fall for your dare trap.

I caught his arm very tightly. He took out his phone and opened the torch. Thank god, but the big shadows were looking like demons... I can't be scared of just a big shadow. This was absolutely childish. But the movie was having the effect on me.

Just then something fell on the ground in the kitchen area. I flinched again and sunk myself into him and hugged him. I heard him gasping, after a few seconds, he hugged me tightly. I was standing in his arms for more than two minutes.

Oh God !! I was in his arms. I had a crush on him for so long, but somehow I had never even thought about touching his hand and was standing in his arms right now. I tried to move out of his arms as I felt heat travelling in my body. I knew that I was blushing like anything.

" Let's go out beautiful. " He said in a husky voice and I just nodded. He caught my hand and we came out of my house into my driveway near my little garden.

Gautam's POV

We came out of her house. Thank God for that or I would have made a complete fool out of me. She was so cute, in spite of being so scared she was brave enough to watch the movie just because she wanted to prove that she is not a child. But why did she have to prove it?

I just loved the way she hugged me. I somehow felt like as if I was in heaven with an angel in my arms. She was so soft...

My heart stopped for a second when she hugged me.  I love you God. And I love power failures... and most of all the scary movies..

" Maurvi are you all right now?"

" Maybe, I don't know... " She said in a low voice.

" It's ok, the power will be restored soon. There must be some fault.. "

" Hmm, I am sorry for behaving like that, but... "

" Don't be sorry... and don't be scared, your knight in the shining armour is right here as your service. " I bowed in front of her.

" But that day, I was the knight and you were damsel in distress." She said and smiled shyly.

" Hmmm it was not like that... She is a friend and it would have been rude to get my hand released like that. " I said and she smiled.

" So you are not interested in her? "

" No... But by any chance did you get jealous? " I asked her, wishing her to say she was... maybe, just a tiny bit...

" Why would I be jealous? " She said and it seemed to hurt me badly in my heart.

" Yes, why would you be? " I tried not to sound disappointed.

" Oh God, I am so tired, I just want to sleep. But I can't because of this power failures and that... that... movie"

" Hmmm, it is a bit hot and the mosquitoes are also there. " I said.

" And possibly some monsters or demons also. " She said seriously looking around. I really loved her she was so cute and innocent.

" Hey, I have an idea, we can sit in the car with AC on. " She looked happy with her idea.

" Ok yes... it will solve at least two problems. "

" Come, we will get the keys and AC blankets. " I nodded and we went inside her home again. She was holding my hand tightly.

She picked up two blankets, a water bottle and the keys of the car and started her car. She asked me to come and sit with her. Though it was not a very good idea as I was already getting too attracted towards her but I couldn't resist spending more time with her. She switched on her car music system in very low volume. Old songs were  playing and were having a calming and romantic effect on us.

She was sitting next to me in the closed environment of the car. I was tempted to have her in my arms again. I kept myself in check as I did not want her to lose her trust in me.

She trusts me enough for staying in a car with me alone when there is no power. She was relaxed and was holding my hand. I wanted to do so much more.

" Thank you " she said all of a sudden.

" For what ? "

" For forcing the computer institute to transfer him from here. It is a very big help. " She said in her sweet voice.

" Oh that is not much. It was very easy, I used your dad's name to get it done. Yes, but I personally threatened Naman that if comes anywhere near you, I would beat him to pulp. "

" Thanks for being there when I needed your support. You know, how much I miss her? Thanks for keeping me busy. I had no clue how to solve this problem. I am literally hurt by the fact that she knew he was trying to break our relationship and still she believed him over me." I looked at her and smiled.

" He is a bloody cheapster. I hate him like I have never hated anyone. " She was saying I just nodded.

"  Just imagine that a guy proposes you... " She was saying but I stopped her in mid of her sentence.

" What??? Why would a guy propose to me?? I am into girls yaar. " I looked shocked. She laughed as she realised what she said.

" I mean, just  imagine that a guy proposes a girl saying that he is falling for her very seriously and she refuses. The very next day he proposes to her best friend. Do you think he is genuine? Suppose you like somebody, say me. And you propose to me but I don't reciprocate your feelings, so can you just switch off your feelings for me and propose to my best friend the very next day? "

" Well I don't think I would ever be able to switch off my feelings for you. " I said intensely and looked at her. She turned to look at me. She looked surprised and I just smiled as I couldn't tell her what I was feeling for her as she has a crush on someone else. I swear I want to beat him. Why don't he stay away from her.

She was sitting next to me and her fragrance was filled in the car. Even the blanket she gave me smelled like her. I hugged it, I was getting crazy.
