Chapter 95: Chapter 95

Ava's POV

The next morning over breakfast, I broke the news to the kids. "We'll be relocating to Scotland." I blurted out. It took me the courage I didn't have yesterday to tell them today.

Luna stared at me like I've sort of lost my mind which I was sure I might have. The twins stared at me wide eyed.

"But why mum?" Davina asked in dismay while Lucas stared aloofly.

"What about my friends?" Dahviel whined. Luna kept quiet and started picking on her food. I sighed. "It sort of came up. Your grand uncle wants us to pay him a visit." I said foolishly and Camila shook her head. Wrong choice of words,she indicated.

"Pay him a visit and we're moving back to Scotland?" Luna asked scoffing as she kept stabbing on her food. It was obvious she was being sarcastic but I decided to ignore it.

"I don't want to move away." The twins said in unison.

"I understand sweetie but won't you like to see your grand uncle? He's like your grandfather you know." I tried to persuade them.

"But mum," Davina whined.

"Trust me sweetie you'll love it there." I said sweetly to Davina.

"Will they really love it there?" Luna asked in scorn.

"Luna!" Camila scolded mildly.

She pushed her chair backwards and turned to leave.

"And where do you think you're going?" Lucas demanded of her finally speaking.

"I'm full." She said and raced towards the stairs.

"Back here Luna." He said to her but she was already gone.

"Let her be Lucas." I said to her quite understanding why she was reluctant and adamant about the issue.

"Mum,why is Luna so upset?" Dahviel asked with a worried look that shouldn't be on the face of a little boy.

I stretched my hand and placed it over his. "She's fine Dave. I'll talk to her hm." I assured him.

There was silence for a little while until Davina broke it. "Mom?" She began slowly.

"Yes love," I said.

"Does this mean we'd get to see daddy?" She asked with twinkling eyes full of expectations.

Camila eyes and mine met and I swallowed. Lucas stopped eating as he stared at me too. Both of them wondering what I would say.

"Mom,we'd meet daddy right?" Dahviel asked too.

I nodded as I closed my eyes trying to blink away the tears that were forming.

The twins passed an ecstatic look between them. I saw Lucas sigh in relief as he pushed from his chair as he picked up his plate. He was done eating.

"I'll be in my room if you need me." He said after returning from the kitchen. I nodded and he walked to my side placing a kiss on my cheek and left for his room.

"I can't wait to see daddy." Dahviel said enthusiasticly. I swallowed. For a year I've always avoided this discussion and now I've made them believe their father was in Scotland and they were going to meet him. Am I doing the right thing? I asked myself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Luna sure didn't handle the issue well the way I thought she would." Camila said to me as I did the dishes.
I sighed. "She has had terrible experience in Scotland that she doesn't want to go back to." I tried explaining to Camila.
"I know. We all have.." She began.
"Are they really going to be happy in Scotland?" I heard Luna's voice interrupting hers.
I looked behind me and saw her standing in the kitchen.
"Will they?" She asked as I leaned on the kitchen sink. My attention on her.
"Luna I.."
"You know what we passed through while in Scotland. Do you want to subject the twins to such life too?" She inquired in a pent up anger.
Then it dawned on me that she wasn't worried about herself but the twins whom she have grown so attached and love as her own blood and flesh.
I shook my head. "I'll never want that for them Luna." I said to her sincerely. I mean they're my kids. Why would I want harm to come to them?
She disagreed with me. "That's exactly what you want mum. You want to take them to a place where brutality is only known and is the only language understood. You want to take them to a father who threw you out despite heavy with his children," she said words that pierced into me.
"Luna!" Camila scolded getting angry. I stopped her from doing anything stupid as I left Luna voice out the anger in her heart.
"Have you forgotten that night?" She began again this time with tears in her eyes. "The night we were attacked and feared for the worse? The twins were the target of those scoundrels and you still want to take them there?" She demanded.
I swallowed the lump in my throat. I was weak to the knees. "I don't know what to say." I finally said.
She scoffed and looked away. "I watch him treat you like dirt and ridicule you to nothing. He turned his back against you when you needed him the most and now you just want to run back into his arms?" She said referring to Skye.
"I'm not running back into his arms Luna. Things changed Luna. You noticed his changes but never got around the reasons for his change. Remember he loved you as his own and treated you fair." I said trying to sound fine but my voice was coarse.
She blinked back tears. "He was. He was fair to all of us but was he fair to you in the end?" She asked and I looked away. She exhaled. "It's obvious you'll never get over him." She said and walked away.
I gripped the kitchen sink for support. "I think Luna has been spoilt too much." Camila said and I disagreed with her.
"She's worried about her siblings.' I said to her.
"And those hurtful words?" She questioned.
"Are memories she has not forgotten neither have I." I said and felt the tear finally drop. She pulled me into her arms for comfort.
