Chapter 69: Chapter 69
Ava's POV
I walked through the familiar grounds of the blood moon pack's territory. I ran my fingers along the low branches of the trees embedded with flowers. I sighed. Despite my stubbornness, I've returned to the house of the blood moons. I didn't know if I was obeying Skye's order or if I was just doing this for the sake of my children.
I got to the pack house and saw everyone rushing to the pack's clinic. What's going on? I wondered and slowly crept behind them toward the pack's clinic.
"He's awake! He's awake!" I heard them screaming.
"What a miracle!" They added in joy.
I got into the pack's clinic and saw everyone gathered around David's bed. He was seated on the bed and his mother hugged him tight with tears flowing freely down her cheeks. My heart melted at the sight. I was beyond glad in my heart that he was finally awake.
"Alpha!" Luna yelled joyfully when she sighted me and everyone turned in my direction and slowly lowered their head in a curtsey. She ran towards me and I opened my arms to welcome her embrace.
"Where have you been?" The little child asked me. "I've missed you so much." She said hugging me tightly.
I gave her a squeeze and we pulled apart. I ruffled her hair. "I've missed you too my love," I said to her smiling.
"Come," she said pulling my hand as I raised myself. "Come see, David has awakened." She said smiling too. She pulled me closer to him and I picked the little boy's hand. "I'm sorry." I apologized.
I expected to get a repulsive answer but instead, he smiled. "You don't have to be alpha. I should have heeded to your warnings in the beginning and besides, I felt you around me all these while." He said.
I placed a kiss on his forehead. "Thank you," I said.
Luna pulled my hand again as she pulled me out the door. "Where are we going, Luna?" I questioned her puzzled. Excitement was written all over her face. "You'll see." She said as she pulled me towards the pack house.
We got inside and she paused as she looked around. "Who are you searching for?" I asked her.
Then she smiled so widely as she pointed behind me. "Him." She said and I narrowed my brows and looked behind me and there was Skye standing at the foot of the stairs. His eyes met mine and I was lost in them. Those piercing hazelnut eyes had haunted my dreams the moment I said we were done. And here I was again, standing before him and my heart threatening to leave my chest with its rapid beats.
Skye's POV
I walked down the stairs and I froze when I saw her standing in the center of the living room. I wasn't expecting her to come here so soon knowing how stubborn she could be. "Him." I heard Luna say as she pointed at me. She looked behind her and her eyes met mine and held it. Her silvery eyes radiated at tilt and her hair was pulled tightly around her head in a ponytail. I could never forget how beautiful her white hair was.
"I believe alpha Skye will no longer be angry at everyone again after seeing you," Luna said with an irresistible smile. I knew have been unbearable to everyone these past few days but, I didn't expect the little girl to take notice. I gave a small smile at the little girl and I walked up to her and ruffled her hair. "You sure have me at heart, don't you?" I said to her and she nodded. "I'll go be with David now." She said and I gave her a nod and she skipped out of the pack house happily.
Ava and I stood gazing at each other for minutes. Both of us engulfed in our thoughts, in our own world. I expected her to say something but she did not. Unable to take the silence anymore, I broke it. "For the first time since I've met you, you finally heed to my words," I said to her.
She stared at me and as usual, always had a stinging reply on her tongue. "I'm not here because you ordered me to." She retorted.
I placed my hands in my pocket and nodded. "Then why are you here?" I asked her.
"Because of my baby and.." She began but I cut her short. "Your baby?" I asked raising a brow.
"Yes, my baby." She said adamantly.
I shook my head. "Let me correct you on that, our baby. He's not just yours. I placed him in you." I said to her and she looked away from me and then back.
"If not for my baby," she said trying to infuriate me. "I won't be here. I won't deprive my child of the right to a father's love." She said.
I swallowed the lump in my throat nodding as I look away from her. "Fair enough," I said and she turned away from me and headed up the stairs. I stared after her retreating figure wondering if she was ever going to accept me back.

Ava's POV
The day far spent, I stood outside the pack house watching Luna and a few blood moons playing around the pack house. It made me imagine how my children growing up would be like. I smiled at them. A once hated pack now friends with their enemy. I still haven't told Skye about the baby being two. He'd just have to find out himself just like he did before.
I was still angry at him because he cheated on me. We weren't legally separated and still, yet he did that. How could he? I was really upset with him. He probably even did it on the same bed I once shared with him. Dang! That infuriated me the more.
"Welcome back alpha." I heard a voice beside me and I looked over in that direction. It was David's mother. "Thank you," I said with a small smile.
"There were rumors spreading around the few days you were away." She said and I raised a brow. "That?"
"You and the alpha were having issues and you left." She said.
I shrugged. "We indeed were but we're sorted out now," I said reassuringly.
She smiled. "I really hope you both are. You make such a great pair." She said and walked away. I stared after her. Really? I asked myself.
"My queen." One of the blood moons passed by and curtsied. "How're you doing?" I asked.
"Fine my queen." He said and walked away. I pondered back on David's mother's words. Did we really make a great pair?

I stood by the window of my room watching the twinkling stars in the sky. I avoided Skye's room because I still didn't want to speak with him. I didn't even want to be in that room and visualize him in bed with other women.
The door opened and without looking back I knew who walked in. His presence was always known in a room. His masculine essence always radiates and shows off wherever he goes. And his scent. His scent, I could tell from a mile away.
What was happening to me? How could I tell so much about him without even being asked? "Ava," his deep masculine voice called out to me in a soft whisper.
"Go away," I said simply, unable to look at him with the fear that my heart might betray me.
He slipped his hands beside me encircling my waist. "Please, Ava," he said in a pleading voice.
"Take your hands off me," I warned slightly. He turned me around and finally my eyes met his. What I feared happened.
"We can't keep going on like this." He said.
"We're just fine the way we are," I said arrogantly trying to fight with myself. Isla wanted to give in and forgive him and my heart wanted to betray me.
"No, we are not." He said firmly looking into my eyes.
"Yes, we are. You cheated on me." I said.
He looked downcast and his voice came out boyishly like a kid who did wrong and was sincerely apologizing for his wrong. "I'm sorry." He said and that took me aback. He had never told me sorry directly or being sincere about it before.
He looked up at me. "I'm sorry." He apologized again with utmost sincerity.
I looked away and he pulled me closer. "Please, I'm sorry." He pleaded more desperately. "You were in the arms of other women," I said trying not to lower my guard. He placed his head in the crook of my neck. "I'm sorry. They were all meaningless to me." He said.
He raised his head and looked at me and then down to my stomach. He placed his hand on my stomach and chuckled. "I'm really going to be a father soon." He said. I gave a small smile. He lowered his head and placed it on my stomach. "Hey, Skye Junior. Your father can't wait to see you and have lots of training sessions with you." He said and I couldn't hold back my giggles as they escaped me.
"Who told you he's a boy?" I asked him and he raised a brow as he straightened up. "I have no doubt I'm going to have a son." He said as he pulled me closer to himself. "And I have no doubt I'm going to have a daughter," I said to him.
He chuckled and smiled at me lovingly.
"I missed you. I missed you a lot." He said as he lowered his head towards mine.
He dealt me a fatal kiss on my lips and I opened up to him without hesitation as his tongue probed softly into my mouth and I wrapped my arms around his neck. Not just my lips parted to give way to his sweetness but I felt my heart also slowly opening up to him.
