Chapter 71: Chapter 71
Colton kept looking at Alaric, who had sworn not to open his mouth. He wasted his whole day behind him so that he could get the answer to his question after finding him. The reason why Liara saved him? How did they meet? And many more.
But the end result was NOTHING. At least for by then.
For Alaric, Colton had to become a thief from a billionaire by stealing a caravan car. But never mind, he shrugged that topic because he knew that sometimes a couple of results weren’t shown immediately. So, that vampire didn’t deserve his attention much more than he had already received by now.
So, he didn’t have any other option than to warn Alpha Kane about the upcoming danger in the pack.
“Hello, Alpha Kane, Calvin Logan Haysbert speaking.” Colton spoke before adding, “There is one more vampire in the pack. I will suggest you to tighten the security of the pack.”
“Oh, don’t worry about your sister, Alpha Calvin. I have kept an eye on her every move. Nothing will happen to her.” Hearing this, Colton rolled his eyes. He could tell that his overconfidence would get him killed. “Moreover, my well-wisher informed me that there is only one vampire in the pack. He had sent his picture in the letter, so trust me, if there would have been another vampire, then my well-wisher….”
Colton disconnected the call in between and looked at his hostage, who was sitting in the silver cage. At the moment, Alaric was wondering who could have informed Alpha Kane about him. That, too, with a picture?
‘A vampire's reflection doesn’t reflect in the mirror, or his or her picture doesn’t get captured in camera, then how can someone send his picture to Alpha Kane?’
‘There can be chances of someone sending his painting or sketch to Alpha Kane, but who will have observed him this closely?’ These thoughts started haunted in his mind. He wanted an answer to this question, and there was only one person who could help him.
“I will answer your one question if you will help me get an answer to one question.” Alaric finally opened his mouth in front of Colton.
“SPEAK,” Colton said, without caring to look at him.
“I want to know more about the information that who gave the letter that mutt received along with my picture. I want to know if it was indeed my picture or some painting or sketch. The more you will help me in solving this mystery. The more I will help you with your queries.”
Colton dialed Alpha Kane again and got the answer to that question. First, whether it was a picture or some sketch, and to Alaric's surprise, it was his black and white picture, the picture that he had taken of whether he was human. Not just that, Alaric clearly remembered that he had the exact same description picture in his room with his daughter.
The only precious memory of his human world.
Colton even asked for a copy of the letter that Alpha Kane had received, but he denied that part. But the picture alone had slove Alaric’s puzzle that it was no other than Elder Ozul or someone from the coven who planned against him to get him killed.
“Seems like someone who knows you from your human days wants to kill you,” Colton commented, watching Alaric’s expression. “If you want, then I can help you take your revenge by wiping the whole pack for you. I mean, you’re my sister’s friend.” He added in a sarcastic tone.
“What do you want from me?” Alaric asked, ignoring his taunt.
“I want to know about the vampire who was in Liara’s room,” Colton asked, looking directly into Alaric, on which he shook his head.
“That’s a personal question. You should ask your sister about it. You’re asking the wrong question to the wrong person.”
“Personal question? That fucking leech forced himself on my sister and you….”
“I don’t believe you,” Alaric said, cutting him in between.
“And I don’t care whether you believe me or not because I know what I have seen.”
“Seen? So, you made an assumption about the things that you saw? I don’t know what did you see, but what you’re claiming can’t be true. There is another situation as well when a female loses her virginity except for RAPE.” Alaric fired back.
Colton wanted to say that ‘that could never happen.’ But how can he say that confidently? What if he misinterpreted the things just like he was speaking, but why didn’t Liara correct him at that moment?
‘Did she get scared of her? Obviously, yes!! I should have known about that.’
At the same time, Colton received an email from the laboratory where he had submitted Theodore’s blood that he had collected in the morning.
He read the last final conclusion of the report, ignoring the things that he couldn’t understand.
“Fine. Answer me one question. Liara had invited that vampire… nope, not a vampire, a werewolf-Vampire hybrid in the pack, right?” Colton asked and didn’t receive any response in return. He smirked when he realized that he was right about it.
He then dialed Artemis’s number to know about that silver werewolf because he had a feeling that even that news was connected to this drama, just like he had thought; Artemis told him that it was Liara, that anonymous person, who was the behind this news.
He could now relate all the things perfectly. Even Liara's meeting someone in the forest. He bet that she met her mate even that night. And it was probably her mate who killed one of his hunters. Now, all he wanted to do was confront Liara.
Colton received an update from her father and her brother that the weather around the pack was not great. Because of this, they had to land somewhere else before reaching Liara.
