Chapter 247: Chapter 247
“So, how’s your life?” Tiara asked, passing a coffee mug toward Liara while Liara couldn’t help but watch her, who had a smile on her lips. She was trying to understand whether it was real or fake. The last meeting between them wasn’t great. Even the words they shared weren’t something that anyone of them wanted to cherish.
After the shoot, Tiara brought Liara to the suite where she was staying until the completion of the movie, which was filmed in another country.
“Good,” Liara replied.
“Good or Great?” Tiara asked, “I saw the news of you and… your mate, and it doesn’t look like you were just good.” She pointed out, sipping her coffee. “It’s surprising that the face, which was twinkling like stars, is looking gloomy like this weather.” She added, looking outside.
“Theo told me the truth,” Liara said, coming straight to the point. “I.. we.. we never talked about you in the past two years until yesterday.” She added.
No one spoke a word for a minute, so Liara continued, “Why did you lie that day, Tee? Why did you accept his rejection? Why didn’t you work on your relationship? Why didn’t you tell him that you were pregnant? There are so many ‘WHY’ in my mind.” She said, and tears rolled out of her eyes.
“I’m feeling guilty for trusting your words that day. I’m feeling guilty for calling you a coward for rejecting your mate without knowing him. I’m feeling guilty for cursing you. I’m…”
“Okay, stop,” Tiara said, cutting her in between and placing her coffee mug aside; she cupped Liara’s face and wiped her face, which was wet from her tears. “Stop it, Lee!! It was all in the past. Stop crying.” She scolded her, wiping her fresh tears.
“I’m sorry.” Liara apologized.
“Don’t be. I wasn’t a saint either.” Tiara cheered her up.
“Why did you lie that day, Tee?” Liara asked again. Even though she already knew the answer to that question. But she wanted to hear from Tiara’s mouth.
“Three reasons. I did that for three reasons. One, I loved Theodore and wanted to save it at any cost.” Liara already knew this answer. “Second, I knew that you wouldn’t choose him after knowing that he hurt me badly, and because of his rejection, I ended up losing my pup and even my wolf.” More tears rolled out of Liara’s eyes; she nodded her head because it was true. “And third, I did for Theodore. I wanted his happiness, and his happiness was you.”
“I’m not you, Lee!! You always choose right and wrong. But for me, I decide what is right and what is wrong. And by one small lie, if you’re together now, then I don’t see any harm in that.” Tiara said, shrugging her shoulder. “And even when you have discovered the truth. I will suggest you not ruin your relationship with Theodore. Because whatever happened, it was OUR thing, Theodore and my thing. You don’t have to act like a judge and make the decision in that way.”
“But…”
“Theodore hated werewolves earlier and even killed a lot of werewolves. What if anyone of them were our distant relatives? You can’t punish Theodore for the things that he did in the past because it was a Beast who killed those werewolves, and the person whom you love is Theodore, a man who is madly in love with you. A man who didn’t want anyone else except you. You’re his light, Lee!!” Liara sobbed more, realizing that she was still in love with him and still thinking about him.
“Don’t look me that way. If I can act like a selfish bitch for him, then I can act like a saint for him as well. Mom says that unconditional love is when someone hurts you, but because you care about that person so much, you choose not to hurt them in return.”
“When you loved him so much, then why did you accept his rejection?”
“Sometimes we let go of people, even though we still want them in our lives, because we realize that they let go first. Accepting his rejection wasn’t easy for me either, but I gave him what he wanted rather than holding him in a relationship that was suffocating him. Moreover, people say that if you love something so much, let it go. If it comes back, it was meant to be; if it doesn’t, it never was.”
Tiara took a deep breath before continuing, “And guess what? Theodore never came back.” She added in a painful tone.
“I don’t agree with me,” Liara muttered. “I believe if you really love someone, you shouldn’t ever let them go.” She shared her thoughts.
