“Hey!!” Liara muttered, opening her eyes a little, and found him staring at her as usual. She couldn’t help but snuggle close to him. Theodore kissed her hair and wrapped his hand around her waist.
“I have to tell you something,” Theodore confessed.
“Hmm” She lifted her head and looked at him. She already knew that something had been going on in his mind since last night. Whatever it was, it was disturbing him to the extent that he was scared to lose her. She leaned toward his lips and kissed him passionately to calm him down. “I won’t leave you.” She whispered to make sure that whatever was disturbing him, he could keep that part aside and talk to her frankly. That was one of the ways of parenting. So that pups could share everything with their parents.
“Remember that when I finish,” Theodore said and took a deep breath. It looked like he was struggling to say what he wanted to say.
“Go ahead,” Liara whispered, caressing his cheek.
“Tiara lied to you. I don’t know why but just like I had mentioned before, it was me who had rejected her. She didn’t.” He said in a one-go that too in a very low tone. He watched Liara, who didn’t show any type of expression, but the change in her heartbeat told him that something was going on in her mind.
“How… how could you, Theo?” She asked, not able to believe that he was the reason behind Tiara’s pain. All this time, she thought… she thought that it was her sister who had hurt Theodore and was kind of pissed at her for not valuing the mate bond, but now the situation was completely different.
Liara tried to move away from his grip, but he didn’t let her go. “Leave me!!”
“You said that you won’t leave me,” Theodore said sternly, but he was scared of the thought of losing her.
“That didn’t mean you would force me to stay.” Liara snapped at her using her alpha aura and watched Theodore getting flinch because of it. She didn’t know yet that her aura worked on Lycan as well, but finally, she learned a new thing about Destiny’s power. She left the bed and went straight into the washroom. He heard the sound of the shower turning on. With that, even Theodore sat on the bed and wondered what now?
She had every right to get mad at him for hurting her sister and for not becoming a perfect mate for her, but she couldn’t force him to love her.
At the same time, this misunderstanding… this was all her fault. Why the hell she had to fill lies in Liara’s mind?
“Lia!! Please talk to me. Let me know what is going on in your mind.” He quickly rushed toward her when she walked out of the washroom.
“Not now, Theo!! I’m too confused, and I need some time.” Liara muttered, grabbing fresh clothes from her closet.
“I didn’t lie to you even that day, nor did I hide the truth today. Then why are you treating me like this? I rejected her because I didn’t want her. I wanted you. Even though I was blessed with two mates, you were the one I loved, and Tiara always wanted me to choose her as her first priority. I tried… I really tried to adjust with her, but she was not you.” Liara wore her clothes, ignoring Theodore while he was trying to explain himself. But the damage had already been done. Tiara’s pup, he or she was already dead. She didn’t know whether it was because of Theodore’s rejection or Tiara herself didn’t want that pup.
And that was something that she needed to know.
“Lia, please say something. I know I hurt her and did wrong to her, but please don’t do the same with me. I will apologize to her for what I did to her, but..”
“I don’t know whether I should tell you this or not, but I guess you should know this truth,” Liara said, cutting him in between. “Tee was pregnant the night when you rejected her.”
The color of Theodore’s face drained hearing this; all he recalled was Tiara’s words, ‘Come, I have a surprise for you.’
Liara heard how his heart raced after learning this news, but now that the truth was out, she needed to tell this to Theodore.
