Chapter 235: Chapter 235
“Don’t tell me you’re feeling bad, Hunter.” Sophia chuckled after listening to his complaint.
“Me? Feeling bad? No way.” Brandon muttered. If he was feeling anything, then he was happy for Liara. He was happy that he was proven wrong about Theodore. By watching Theodore like this, he might have lost on the part that Theodore wasn’t good for her, but he was happy to lose if that meant a beautiful smile on his daughter.
“They are looking together, isn’t it?” Sophia asked, to which Brandon didn’t react anything. He didn’t want Theodore to listen to the conversation. He, too, knew that they looked good together, but he wasn’t going to admit it loudly and signaled Artemis to come near him.
“You knew all this, didn’t you?” He questioned sternly.
“Yes, dad.” Artemis agreed. Brandon’s jaw tightened, and he glared at him. “I’m sorry for bringing you both here, but I feel that it's high time that you should end all this. See, now Lee also became a doctor just like you wanted, and Theodore is also capable of taking care of her on his own.”
“That should be my decision. I didn’t remember giving you any work to make a decision on my behalf.” Brandon said, gritting his teeth. “Come on, Mon Amore.” He said, ready to leave from there.
“If you want to go then LEAVE. I’m not going anywhere.” Sophia hissed because she wasn’t going anywhere. Not today. It was one of the biggest days of Liara’s life, and she wasn’t going to miss it. Not again. “And stay here if you don’t want me to divorce you AGAIN.” She threatened him, making Brandon stay.
Liara tried not to listen but she couldn’t help because of her ears. She was hurt by their conversation. She didn’t Sophia to threaten Brandon to stay there if he didn’t want to stay. She didn’t know why she was even expecting her father to accept them.
‘Odo!! If possible don’t go to the area where Artemis and his family members are.’ She mind-linked him.
‘Okay!’ Theodore agreed without asking the reason behind it because he too had heard the conversation. He had to deal with his father-in-law tonight for hurting his Lia, who was trying her best to hold her tears and force a smile on her lips.
This was supposed to be a surprise for her. He had hoped that everything would be all right tonight today between her parents and her, but he was wrong. Controlling his anger, he asked Alaric to begin the show that was planned later.
To be honest, neither Theodore nor Liara could focus on the ramp walk that model was performing wearing the jewelry. On the big screen behind the stage, the detail of jewelry, along with its price, was displayed. While Liara was hurting herself, Theodore was waiting for one chance to kick Brandon’s ass. Just one chance.
“Are you mad at me?” Liara whispered, sensing his anger.
“No.” Theodore shook his head and grabbed her hand. He held her hand and kissed the back of her hand. “We should move toward the stage now. We have to walk at the end.” He added, getting a signal from Alaric.
“I don’t know how to walk on stage,” Liara exclaimed.
“Same here!! It’s just a short walk to the end of the show. On the top, everyone knows that we aren’t models.” Theodore cheered her up, on which Liara nodded her head, earning a kiss on her forehead. She missed the count of the kisses that she had received until now, and watching them together, Moana was burning in fire.
“One more,” She said, ordering a drink that humans called it as Alcohol. Earlier, when the bartender asked what she wanted for a drink, she sarcastedly mentioned ‘to give her something which could remove the ache in her heart.’
On which the bartender offered her Alcohol. She wasn’t sure whether it would help her or not, but she didn’t mind trying. Alaric left her after reaching here and got busy with his work, and Theodore and Liara didn’t care about her presence. So, she did what came to her mind. She had forgotten the count of glasses that she had drank. All she knew was that her body had started feeling numb and her heart wasn’t arching as much as before.
She watched Theodore and Liara walking on the stage together, holding each other’s hands. She wanted that, but she knew that she couldn’t get that from Theodore because the only person around whom he behaved differently was Liara; otherwise, he was rude to everyone.
